10 years later

Lotus pier market

The market is lively as always. The merchants are cheerful as their goods were selling out. A 10 year old kid wearing Jiang sect heir robes with his clarity bell swaying along as he kept running through the lively market with a sack of lotus seeds towards the Mansion of the Lotus pier.

"A-Xian stop running!" yelled the 15 year old Jiang sect first heir Jiang Cheng courtesy Wanyin.

"As if I'll listen to you Cheng-Ge!" said the 10 year old second Jiang sect heir Jiang Ying courtesy Wuxian laughing cheerful as always.

"You- Come here you little brat!" said Jiang Cheng angrily as he kept chasing after his baby brother into the mansion.

"Let's see if you can say the same thing here Cheng-Ge" said Jiang Ying with a smug smile on his face as he stopped running right before his family and friends who were watching the brothers coming in the mansion chasing eachother.

Jiang Cheng halts seeing his mother looking at them with a serious look and starts sweating.

Seeing this Jiang Ying starts laughing "hahahaha! That's how you should be! You kitty in the disguise of tiger!"

"You-!" Jiang Cheng got flushed as everyone starts laughing or smiling at what Jiang Ying said.

"Now now you two stop fighting, A-Xian didn't you saw who came for our company" said Yanli making Jiang Ying look behind with a big smile.

"Of course I did! Xuan-Ge, Sang-Ge and Zhan-Ge came to pick us up and give company to us as we travel to Gusu Lan Sect for lectures!" Said Jiang Ying with a brighter smile as he hugs the said three after dropping the sack of Lotus seeds.

"Yeah yeah whatever" said Zixuan rolling his eyes all while patting the kid's head.

"That's right A-Xian" said Huaisang smiling and covering half of his face with his hand fan.

"Mn" said Lan Wangji with the smallest smile which was barely visible.

Jiang Ying gives them another bright smile as Jiang Cheng rolls his eyes at this and then smirks as a plan popped up in his head. "A-Niang..." Jiang Cheng got his mother's attention and continues "Do you know why I came chasing after A-Xian in the first place?" Jiang Cheng smirk even more seeing Jiang Ying freeze and turn to him showing his horror filled face and then saw his mother signal him to tell why and continues again.

"That's because I caught him drinking wine along with those Lotus seeds that he just brought in a sack with him" as soon as Jiang  Cheng said this everyone's eyes gotten wide and they all turned to Jiang Ying who by now reached the front gate of the mansion silently and shouted out his name well except Wangji who wore a serious face "A-YING!/A-XIAN!!"

Jiang Ying gets startled and turns to his family with a nervous smile as he asks nervously "Y-yes....you guys c-called me...?"

"Come here right now A-Xian...." Fengmian said with a serious face.

Jiang Ying went stiff a bit but managed to speak.

"Sorry but I have to go some-" Jiang Ying got cut off as he got grabbed by Jiang Cheng when was about to take off from there. "Ah! Cheng-Ge let go of me!" Jiang Ying tries to free himself but all went futile as his brother's arm strength is the only thing he couldn't surpass due to his age.

"No way you are gonna escape this one A-Xian" Jiang Cheng said as he dragged Jiang Ying back to his parents.

After a while

"No way....." sulked Jiang Ying as he sat infront of his family who were staring down at him in the swords hall.

Fengmian started asking as no one made any move to start their interrogation "A-Xian you know that you just entered the 10th year of your life...."

Jiang Ying tensed as his father talked and looked down at his hand that were on his lap as he said in a helpless tone "Yes..."

Zixuan made the next move and asked "And when is the correct age for anyone to be allowed to drink liquor.."

Jiang Ying relaxed a bit when Zixuan took over and answered in the same way but with somewhat playfullness in his answer "After 10 years of cultivating would be my answer"

Zixuan felt like a huge rock fell on his head at that answer, the others were in no good position either after hearing it.

"15.....15 years is the right answer A-Ying.... Don't try to play amart with us...." Ziyuan said massaging her forehead as she looked towards Jiang Ying who had a big pout on his face.

"B-but Xuan-Ge, Sang-Ge and Cheng-Ge started drinking when I was 6 years old! You didn't scold them then why would you scold me!?" Jiang Ying asked being offended as he made teary face which melted Jiang Yanli to go hug and coax him to calm down.

Now everyone were eyeing the said three especially Jiang Cheng and Huaisang who were underage to be drinking if what Jiang Ying said was true.

The said three were sweating alot as their little secret got out and this time Wangji was the one who spoke in a cold voice as he side eyed Jiang Cheng "One should look at themselves before pointing their finger towards the others right Wanyin....."

Jiang Cheng's eye brow twitches as he got busted and lectured by Lan Wangji.

Huaisang hid his face behind his fan as he too got lectured by them.

"Serves you right! Hmph!" Said Jiang Ying with a pout as he enjoyed his sister's affection. "You-!" Jiang Cheng stops himself  saying further as he felt everyone stare at him except Jiang Ying who was busy feeling his sister's love for him and Huaisang who is a victim along with him.

Jiang Fengmian and Yu Ziyuan sigh at their son at the same time and Fengmian ended the whole topic and diverted everyone's attention back to the main subject at hand "So, if that's over now let's talk about the main thing. A-Zhan...."

Wangji turned to Fengmian and nods at him to continue "Are you really sure that A-Xian can come to Cloud Recesses? Cause he is only ten and I afraid that Qiren would love to see a peaceful Cloud Recesses rather than a chaotic one..." Fengmian asked with nervous smile.

Hearing this both Ziyuan and Jiang Ying turned to Fengmian and said in perfect sync "Hey! My son is/I'm not a troublemaker A-Feng/A-Die! If anything it's their fault for making Three Thousand plus Rules! Stop treating him/me like one!"

Fengmian raised his hands surrendering under the glares of the two dark purple eyes of his wife and the mini version of his wife in different gender but frowned in his mind seeing Jiang Ying.

Wangji sighs and says "It's perfectly fine Jiang Jiaozhu. I'll make sure that A-Ying is at his best behavior and if anything happens I'll convince Shifu to give him some leniency since he is only a child and make him write rules a few times." Fengmian smiles at this and nods his head.

"You too Zhan-Ge!? But I'm not a troublemaker! All of you are talking as if I'm a troublemaker! But I'm not! So stop! Stop treating me like one!" exclaimed Jiang Ying as he stood and ran away from the hall.

"A-Xian!" Jiang Cheng called out to the young one as he took off after the boy chasing him where ever he went to.

Ziyuan faced Fengmian with a rage filled scowl as she spoke "A-Feng I've told you many times to not treat him like a troublemaker! You know what the healer told about him when he was 5 years old! And yet you treat him like this! You've made him upset now!"

The young ones in the room stayed silent in the tense atmosphere knowing that what Ziyuan said was hundred percent true.

Fengmian defended himself saying "I didn't mean to make him upset A-Zi......I just wanted to know if it'll be alright for Qiren if he did cause some thing...."

All the young ones stood up and bowed to their elders before they can further continue their arguement and Zixuan took the lead and said "We'll go and look for both A-Xian and Wanyin then coax him together"

"Please do....and do tell him to come to me once you all coax him....." Ziyuan said and dismissed them to continue her discussion with her husband.

At the docks

"Stop chasing after me!!!" exclaimed Jiang Ying as he kept running away from his brother close to the water pond beside him as tears made its way down his face.

Jiang Cheng kept running after Jiang Ying as he said "If you stop running then I'll stop chasing you Idiot!!"

Jiang Ying doesn't slow down but speeds up even more making Jiang Cheng speed up too. As they keep up their run Jiang Cheng's eyes widen he saw Jiang Ying near the edge of the dock and shouts out "A-Xian Watch out!!"

Just as Jiang Ying was about to turn to his big brother his leg slips and he falls off from the edge of the dock resulting in him closing his eyes waiting for the cold feeling of the water.

But before he could even touch the surface of the water he felt as someone caught him and flew at a great speed as he buried his head in the chest of the one who caught him and smells sandalwood smell from the said person and he calls out a name as he figured out who it is "Zhan-Ge....?"

"Mn" was all he heard from the person now revealed as Wangji as he felt him slow down and land on steady ground.

As they landed Jiang Ying lifted his head up and heard hurried footsteps nearing them as he stood on the dock with Wangji gently letting him down.

"A-Xian! Are you okay!? You haven't hurt yourself now have you!" Jiang Yanli hugs Jiang Ying tightly and checks him if he had got any injuries or not.

Jiang Ying bites his lower lip and says trying to sound neutral and not let his anxiety show up his voice "I'm okay.....I'm fine...."

Jiang Yanli caught on to his anxiety and patted his back saying "Yes you're okay. We are here and you are safe."

Zixuan and Huaisang let out a breath of relief when they found their little bunny unharmed and relaxed when they saw his face which didn't showed any kind of pain filled in his face when Yanli released him from her embrace.

Jiang Cheng panted as he stood near them after the chase he given to his little brother and as he caught upto his breathing he stepped forward and wrapped Jiang Ying in a tight embrace and whispers in a tensed and relieved tone "Never. Never run off like that you idiot. You scared the hell out of me."

Jiang Ying hugged Jiang Cheng back and says with a trembling voice as his strong façade broke being safely held in his brother's hands "I'm sorry...I'm sorry I worried you....I'm sorry I promise I won't do it again.....I swear it..."

Jiang Cheng rubbed the younger's back comforting him as he says "Shh Its okay....It's okay.... Don't cry now...."

"I got scared...." Jiang Ying admitted whispering so only Jiang Cheng can hear it and when Jiang Cheng did heard it he softly assured Jiang Ying saying "I know I know but its okay now. See Ge is here right. Ge will keep you safe so don't be scared 'kay"

Everyone kept quite as Jiang Cheng calmed jiang Ying down with Jiang Yanli occasionally caressing through Jiang Ying's smooth silky black hair.

Jiang Ying calmed down after a few mins as he stepped back from the hug and wiped away any remaining tears on his face and said "I'm fine, I'm okay now"

Jiang Cheng hums and Jiang Yanli Caresses Jiang Ying's cheek as she says "Just know that it's okay to not be okay alright A-Xian"

Jiang Ying nods smiling brightly at his sister and turns around when he heard a cough from his behind and saw Wangji there standing infront of him with a face filled with guilt of course it was only visible to Jiang Ying.

Wangji was about to say something but Jiang Ying bit him to it as he says "I'm sorry for judging you there Zhan-Ge....I of all should've known that you just said that so he could stop worrying about me being there but.....I got clouded with emotions..."

Wangji shakes his head and says "Not A-Ying's fault.....Don't apologise"

Zixuan sighs as he says "I think we should go back to the mansion now. I'm sure Yu Furen must be worried about A-Xian"

Jiang Ying stiffened at that but relaxes when he heard his brother say "We'll go straight towards A-Niang's chambers so no one can disturb us"

Huaisang closes his hand fan as he says "Sounds good to me and Yu Ayi's chamber are more peaceful than anyother place in the mansion."

Jiang Ying smiles and says excited "Yeah let's go there! And I have some sweets stored in there so lets have them too!"

Jiang Cheng and Huaisang side eyed each other and then said "Then what are we waiting for! Let's go!"

With that they all started walking making their way towards Ziyuan's chambers. In their way Jiang Cheng spotted his father who saw them and started making his way towards them so he tapped Jiang Ying on his shoulder as he started running towards their mother's room shouting "Race you there A-Xian!"

Jiang Ying gasped as he too started running yelling "Hey! That's not fair Ge! Wait for me!" Jiang Ying caught upto Jiang Cheng soon as they raced to their Mother's room making the others smile at them with fondness well except Wangji who had a barely visible smile on his face.

"A-Li......" Jiang Fengmian called out to his daughter as he approached the group. Jiang Yanli although a bit stiff still bowed to her father with a smile on her face as she greeted him "A-Die...."

"Jiang Jiaozhu" The other bowed to the sect leader due to courtesy. Fengmian nodded his and signaled them to raise as he asks " Is A-Xian alright? He seemed quite restless just before A-Cheng challenged him"

Jiang Yanli felt her feelings get complicated towards her father just as the other three but decided to not let it show and answered him explaining what happened after Jiang Ying ran out which left Fengmian shocked, worried and relief washed over him when he realized that Wangji saved Jiang Ying just in time.

"I'm very grateful to you for saving my son Wangji. Thank you very much" Fengmian expressed his gratitude to Wangji to which Wangji just shook his head not saying anything else.

Fengmian sighed and said them to continue what they were doing as he left them there and went to do some sect works.

Zixuan let out a frustrated sigh as he said "Sometimes I really don't understand him! He always hurts A-Xian but also looks through whatever he is hiding from everyone like Yu Furen."Huaisang couldn't help but agree with Zixuan on this.

Jiang Yanli fists her fingers before releasing them and says "Let's go to A-Niang's chambers...."

Everyone silently nod at this and went in the direction in where they saw Jiang Cheng and Jiang Ying ran through.

Soon they arrived near Yu Ziyuan's chamber and there they saw a wailing Jiang Ying in Ziyuan's embrace letting his bottled emotions out as Ziyuan patted his back saying him to let it all out which broke the hearts of the ones present there. Jiang Cheng stood close by seeing all this with a pained expression.

Eventually Jiang Ying's wailing turned into small whimpers so Ziyuan lifted his head making him look at her and wiped his tears as she asked softly "Feel better now?"

Jiang Ying nods and steps back from the hug and wipes his face again with arm and says with a bright smile on his face "Much better"

Ziyuan smiled softly and then turned to the other kids in the room and told them to take their seats in the room as she went to the other side of the room to bring something for them eat.

Jiang Ying sat in between his siblings at the round table in the room followed by Zixuan beside Yanli, Huaisang, Wangji and Yu Ziyuan who sat between Wangji and Jiang Cheng while placing the snacks she brought on the table which turned out to be lotus seeds and some tea.

Jiang Ying beamed seeing the Lotus seeds and immediately asked his sister to feed him who happily did patiently which formed a smile on everyone's face.

Ziyuan served tea for everyone except Jiang Ying as she knows that her little boy doesn't like tea and they all talked about the upcoming lectures and other stuff to get distracted from what happened that day.
