Once upon a time in Athens, a king met a beautiful lady whom he wished to marry. They courted for many months, only for the woman to disappear and leave a child on the doorstep. Heartbroken and in distress, the king sought a companion to mend his heart. When he found a lady, they were wed immediately. Having bore the king two sons in later years, the king favored his new wife and children over his first child. Seemingly tossed out of the family, the first child struggled with life in the palace, always trying to fit in, and be loved. This first child was called Annabeth Chase, and this is her story.
