Day 6

Sometimes I felt as if I was worth nothing. I went through my parents old photo book, looking at all my foal and filly pictures. I had spent the last couple of days of from my job. It was the anniversary of when the griffons attacked.

*Flash back*

It was the town's favorite time of year, the carnival, Everypony was outside enjoying and playing the games, riding rides except me and my parents. I looked nothing liked them, my mother had a light green coat with blonde hair, my father was a bit shorter than my mother he had a pale coat with brown hair and he really need glasses but only used them when he feels like he needs to. They were both kind, hard working Earth ponies.

We all shared an extra large funnel cake with was my absolute favorite carny food. Since my father's eye sight was terrible he had excellent hearing. His ears perked up before he asked my mother for his glasses. She looked worried as she handed him the glasses. "Honey take Jetbeam and run to the house." he said starring out onto the distance. "Why?" She asked him. "Just go now! I'll tell the guards!" He galloped off and mother and I followed his orders. "Mommy, what's going on?" I panted as I galloped as fast as I could. My voice was a bit squeky back then, but that didn't matter. "I don't know yet Beam, but we must trust in your father." I nodded as opened the door to are home/observatory and ran up to my room.

I grabbed my Mr.Fluffs-a-lot who was a big poofy stuffed purple dog, and peeked out the window. I saw the guards ushering ponies into their homes telling the to board up their doors and windows and hide somewhere safe. I could hear mother and father talking about something before they started to board up the doors and windows down stairs.

Mother came to my room and boarded up the window.

Right when I was about to figure what was going on.

"Stay put." She ordered before closing my room door so she could board up the door to the observatory. I dug in a drawer by my bed. "Aha!" I said to myself. I took a screwdriver and but it on the top of the drawer and closed it. I used my magic to jab the screwdriver in the wood and drilled the hole in the wood as I snuggled Mr.Fluffs-a-lot.

Once the hole was large enough I peeked through it seeing the guards setting up cannons and grabbing weapons. I looked out into the distance, griffons...and a lot of them. I held Mr.Fluffls-a-lot a lot tighter. "Make sure these cannons are ready to shoot!" The general commanded, "Shoot when I say fire!" The guards saluted then got into position. The griffons got closer and closer, some flying some running. "Fire!" The general yelled. The cannons shot two cannonballs each sending 10 flying threw the air. I gasped as a cannonball hit one of the flying beast.

"Beam! Get away from that window! The griffons could have just flown in burring you under." Father scolded. I got away from the window and apologized. I heard a loud boom outside followed by some cries of war. Father closed the door and I crawled back to the window. The griffons and the ponies were fighting to the death. It was the first time I ever saw blood being spilled in a fight. I hid under the covers and eventually I fell asleep.

BOOM!!! I heard the griffons breaking into my home. Mother screamed. I popped out of my bed and looked through my little peep hole. The griffons won and killed all the guards. My eyes started to water. Mother ran into my room and slammed the door and pushed her body against it. "Where is father?" I asked frantically. "He's trying to hold back the griffons." She explained moving some of my furniture in front of the door. I heard father's voice scream, "Before we go please tell Jetbeam the truth!" Mother looked at me her eyes full of sorrow. "Mother what is he talking about." She opened her mouth to speak the the griffons started to try to beat the door down. The furniture in front of the door was starting to move.

"Jetbeam I need to tell you something..." she said trying to keep the furniture on front of the door. "What?" I asked. "Your father and I are sorry we kept this from you..." "What?" I said again. "Your adopted." My heart dropped. The door burst opened causing my so called mother falling over. The griffons brutally murdered her in front of my young eyes.

I squeezed my eyes shut as the griffons approached. "Should we kill her?" One of them asked. The elder one looked down at me and frowned. "We shall let her be, she probably would survive a week." The leader stated looking at me with a hard, cold stare. They left me to die...

My life was a lie, my dreams were crushed. I searched the whole village everypony was either dead or missing. I buried the dead corps in front or behind their homes and got a rock and carved their names into it along with 'R.I.P'. When I got back I dragged my parents dead bodies into the front yard burring their bodies. From that day forward I talked to them everyday and placed flowers there every week.

*End of Flashback*

I looked around my room hasn't really changed, the door was still broken, the window was still boarded up, my mother's blood was stained into the carpet. Mr.Fluffs-a-lot was still in one piece the way I liked him I sighed before lying in my bed slowly drifting off as I thought about my broken dream...
