Jessie's First Birthday
Jester narrates: It's been a year since I was adopted by my Daddy. We had lots of fun together, but today was a very special day because it was my 1st birthday.
t was about 9:15 am when Joker woke up. He had a lot of planning to do for his daughter's first birthday. He went out of his bedroom, to check on Jessie in her nursery. He opened her door and tip-toed his way to her crib, to see that she still was fast asleep. Joker smiled and quietly left her nursery. He grabbed the baby monitor out of his room and went downstairs to the kitchen to start planning Jessie's party.
"Morning boss. What's the plan for Jessie's party?" Frost asked him as he handed Joker a cup of coffee. "I'm thinking of having a huge party because nothing's too good for my lil princess. The theme will be princesses, just like my Jessie is." Joker said. Just then Jessie's baby monitor went off because she was crying. Joker put down his coffee mug and went upstairs to check on Jessie. He opened the door and walked over to her crib, the minute she saw him, she immediately stopped crying. "Well good morning, birthday girl. Did you sleep well?" Joker asked as he got Jessie out of her crib. He noticed that she needed to be changed, so he placed her on the changing table and changed her. After he changed her, he picked up Jessie and planted kisses on her cheeks, making her giggle. "Are we happy because Daddy changed you?" Joker said as he tickled Jessie. Joker took her downstairs to get Jessie some breakfast. "Good morning sweetie. Happy Birthday." Frost said as Joker walked into the kitchen with Jessie who was attached to Joker's hip. Frost grabbed Jessie's highchair and placed Jessie in it. "What would Daddy's lil princess want for her special breakfast?" Joker asked her. "an ake. (pancake)" She replied "Alright, sweetie. Daddy will make you pancakes, my special girl." Joker said as he snuggled Jessie's nose and kissed her head. While Joker made Jessie's breakfast, he heard his phone go off. He saw that it was a text from... Harley.
Joker POV: It's been over a year since Jessie came into my life. She was the BEST THING that EVER happened to me. I heard nothing from Harley, until now. I knew that she was busy doing missions with the Squad, but that "Buckshot" I didn't like the way he looks at her! I wondered why would Harley be texting me today of all days. Her text said "Hiya Puddin' (God how I HATE that name, but the way Harley says it I don't mind it) I miss you soooooo much. I'll be home soon. Love your pumpkin pie, Harley." How am I going to tell Harley about Jessie? I knew she wanted a baby, but the timing wasn't right. She was with the Suicide Squad and I was always working on trying to kill Batsy. I'm mostly worried about how is Jessie going to be when Harley does come home because all Jessie knows is that I'm her daddy with no "mommy."
After Joker made Jessie her breakfast, he saw that she was all sticky. "Well, my lil sticky baby girl, I think someone needs a bath," Joker said as he got Jessie out of her highchair. Joker took Jessie upstairs into his bathroom and filled the tub with lukewarm water and bubbles. He placed her in the tub and washed her. After Jessie was all cleaned, Joker let her play with some of her bath toys for a few minutes. "Okay, my lil girl. Time to get out and get ready for the day." Joker said as he grabbed Jessie out of the tub and into a super fluffy towel. After Jessie was all ready for the day, Joker put her in her playpen, while he went into the kitchen to talk with Frost. "Boss, are you okay? You look frustrated." Frost said. "Well, I am, Frost. Because I just received a text from Harley saying that she's coming home. TODAY OF ALL DAYS!!!!! How am I going to focus when I have a party to plan for my princess and now on top of that Harley is coming home!!!!!" Joker yelled.
"Boss, think of Jessie. Right now, she's more important, it's her birthday. I'll get all my friends to help out and you don't have to worry about a thing." Frost said. "Your right, Frost. Jessie is more important. I'm not going to get mad, stressed, etc. I'm just going to spend the day with my princess and not worry about a thing." Joker said as he peeked out of the kitchen to see Jessie who was playing peek-a-boo with Bud and Lou. Joker smiled at how good Bud and Lou were with Jessie. "Frost. I think I'll go take my princess out so that way the party is a surprise." He said. "Good idea boss. I'll call my friends and get started with the party. When does the party being?" Frost asked. "3:00 pm sharp," Joker replied as he walked out of the kitchen and over to Jessie in her playpen. "Come here, little one. Do you wanna do something fun with Daddy?" Joker said with a smile. "Yea," Jessie replied. Just then Joker got an idea. A CRAZY MAD Idea. Joker took Jessie upstairs and got her dressed for the "fun" day he had planned.
"Is Daddy your Prince?" Joker cooed as he got done changing Jessie into her outfit (Pictured above) Jessie just smiled at him. "Alright, my sweet princess. Daddy's going to get ready, so one of Daddy's men is going to watch you, okay, my lil girl." Joker said handing her over to one of his. "If anything happens to her, it's your head," Joker said as he walked away from the man, who was watching Jessie.
Meanwhile, on the other side of town, Bruce Wayne, aka Batman was researching Joker. "Still nothing on the Joker, Master Bruce?" Alfred said as he entered the bat cave. "No. For a whole year, he hasn't robbed a bank, kill anyone, or stolen anything. It's as if he'd vanished into thin air." Bruce replied. "Well, if I may sir, but maybe he gave up on being a villain and started a new life," Alfred said as he gave Bruce a cup of tea. "It's never easy with the Joker, Alfred. He's planning something and what it is, I'll be there with handcuffs and take him back to Arkham!" Bruce said.
(Back at Joker's mansion) Joker was all dressed in regular clothes, so he couldn't be spotted. "Where's my lil princess at?" He said in a single-type voice. "She's down here, boss. In her playpen." One of his men said. "Are you ready to have a fun day with Daddy?" He asked Jessie as he get her out of the playpen. "Yea." She replied. "Okay, let's see here. I got the diaper bag, diapers, changing supplies, bottles, extra clothes, baby blanket, first aid kit, pacifiers, and toys." Frost said as he got everything ready and packed it in Jessie's diaper bag. Joker had put Jessie in her car seat, but she started to cry. "Aww, honey. What's the matter?" Frost said as he went to see what Jessie needed. "I know what you want Jessie," Joker said as he came downstairs holding something in his hand. "We couldn't forget Boo-boo, can we sweetie," he whispered as he gave Jessie her boo-boo and smiles at her as she hides her tiny nose in her boo-boo.
Once Jessie was all buckled into her car seat, Joker got into the SUV and drove off. He took Jessie to a jewelry store, which he owned. "J! Long time no see." A man said as he stepped out from the counter. "Paul," J replied. "Who is this little one?" Paul asked him as he looked at Jessie, who just fell asleep in her car seat. "This is my daughter, Jessie. Today is her birthday and I want to get her something special." J replied. "Well, she's a beautiful little girl. Come to the back and I'll show you what I got." Paul said. Joker followed Paul to the back, where the most expensive jewelry was. Joker looked at all the jewelry until he saw a beautiful gold necklace with a Sapphire heart in the middle. He also saw a Father-Daughter necklace. "How much for these three?" Joker asked Paul as he pointed to the gold Sapphire and the Father-Daughter necklaces. "For you, J. It's on the house. Do you want any engraving done on the Father-Daughter necklaces?" Paul asked. "Princess on the Daughter and King on the Father." He replied. "Alright. When do you want them by?" Paul asked. "Today," Joker replied. "You got it, J" Paul replied. "I'll have one of the men, pick them up," Joker said as he left the jewelry store.
A few minutes later, Jessie had woken up and was hungry. "Aww, is Daddy's lil baby hungry?" Joker cooed as he was putting Jessie into the SUV. He grabbed a bottle from the diaper bag, got Jessie out of her car seat, placed her in his arm, and placed the bottle in her mouth. After Jessie had finished her bottle, Joker burped her and wiped the extra milk off Jessie's face. "Are you happy now, because you got a full tummy?" Joker cooed as tickled her tummy. Jessie laughed and smiled at her daddy. "Dada wuv ou. (love you)." She said as she hugged her daddy's arm. "I love you more, my sweet lil princess," Joker said as he kissed her. Later on, the King and his Princess went to a lot of places to cause chaos and keep busy so Frost and his friends could set everything up for Jessie's party. Just then Joker's phone went off, it was a call from Frost. "Is everything ready, Frost?" Joker asked him. "Yes, boss. Just adding the finishing touches." Frost replied. "Is you-know-who home?" Joker asked. "No boss. She's not here." Frost said. "Good. We'll be home in ten minutes. Also, I need you or one of the guys to go pick up something from Paul." Joker said before he hung up his phone.
"Okay, princess. It's time to go home." Joker said as picked up Jessie and walked to his SUV. He gently placed her into her car seat, buckled her in, and closed her door. Joker got into the driver's side and drove home.
Once they were back home, Joker got Jessie out of her car seat and carried her inside. They walked into the living room and everyone shouted "Happy Birthday, Jessie!" Jessie was happy, even though she had no idea what was going on. A few minutes into her party, there was a knock at the door. One of Joker's men went to answer it a familiar voice came walking into the living room. "Hiya Puddin', m-. What's going on here?" Harley asked. "Everyone out. I want to talk with Harley alone." Joker said. Once everyone had left, Harley said "Puddin', who the HELL is Jessie?!" "Harley, I want you to calm down, so I can explain everything," Joker replied. "Is she your new "toy"?! This is what you do when I'm gone?! YOU CHEATING BASTARD!!!!" Harley yelled. "GODDAMIT HARLEY!!!! I said CALM DOWN!!!! Joker yelled back. Just then Harley and Joker heard crying. Frost came in with a very upset Jessie, who just wanted to be with her Daddy. "Pu-Puddin'? Who is that?" Harley asked calmly. "Harley, I want you to meet Jessie. She's my daughter." Joker said as he looked at Harley. Harley moved closer to Joker so she could see Jessie, but Jessie was very scared because of all the yelling. "Shh...., Jessie. It's okay. Daddy wants you to meet a friend of his." Joker said soothingly.
Joker handed Jessie over to Harley so she could meet her. "Well, hi there. Are ya just a cute lil baby?" Harley cooed. "You have the same color eyes as your daddy, don't ya? Yes, you do. Yes, you do." Harley said as she tickled Jessie's chin. "So where did she come from?" Harley asked Joker. "Her story is very sad, Harley. I don't want to upset her if I tell you her story." Joker replied. "Please tell me, Mistah J," Harley begged him. "Alright, but if Jessie cries, I end the story. Got it?" Joker said sternly. So Joker started to tell Harley how he found Jessie and how her birth parents treated her. "Oh, my God. Why would they do that to her?" Harley said as her eyes filled with tears. "I don't know why they would do such a harsh thing to a newborn, but if I didn't find her, she could've died," Joker said. "Are her birth parents alive?" Harley asked. "Only dear ol' mommy is and she has three kids of her own. As for dear old dad, he was shot by yours truly because he was going kill Jessie." Joker said as he covered Jessie's ears, so she couldn't hear him. "I'm sorry for callin' ya a cheating b-word, Puddin'. I didn't mean it." Harley said. "I know you didn't mean it, but if you ever call me that again, you'll be punished." He said sternly.
"Jessie's so beautiful, Puddin'. " Harley said as she cuddled Jessie in her arms. "I know she is. How are things with the squad?" Joker asked her. "Fine. But Waller is trying to hunt me down." She replied. "Why is that?" Joker asked. "Because I blew something up and stole some things," Harley said. "That's my girl. Causing chaos for me." Joker said. "Mama?" Jessie said as she looked up at Harley. Harley's eyes filled with tears as Jessie called her mama. "Oh sweetie, I'm not your-," Harley said but Joker had cut her off. "You can be her mother, Harley because I know you always wanted to be a mother, so here's your chance. But if you throw it away, you WON'T GET a SECOND CHANCE. " "Yes, baby girl. I'm your mama." Harley said as she snuggled Jessie's nose. "Now we are a family," Joker said as he put his arms around his two favorite girls. "You guys can come in now, so we can continue with Jessie's party," Joker said.
Joker got Jessie a small cake just for her, while Harley cut the big cake for everyone else. After they sang "Happy Birthday", Jessie went right into eating her cake. (Top pic. Jessie's birthday cake for adults) (Bottom pic. Jessie's Birthday cake for herself) "Is that good, sweetie? Can Daddy have some?" Joker said with a playful pout. Jessie had icing and cake all over her hands, so she did let her Daddy taste her cake, by putting her messy hands into his mouth. "Mmmm. Thank you, baby." Joker said as he kissed Jessie's head. After they had cake, Joker placed Jessie on the floor by him and surrounded her with gifts.

After Jessie's party ended, Frost and Joker's men cleaned up everything, while Joker, Harley, and Jessie went upstairs to get Jessie a bath. "Puddin'. Why don't ya take the night off? I can watch our daughter." Harley said as Joker wrapped Jessie in her hooded towel. "Well alright, Harley. You can watch her. I'll have Frost show you where everything is at. Come with me." Joker said as he carried Jessie into her nursery with Harley following behind them. Joker turned on the light in Jessie's nursery and was in shock. She saw her beautiful crib with a gold crown above the crib, all of Jessie's baby clothes, stuffed animals, etc. She couldn't believe her eyes at what Joker did for a tiny baby girl. "Puddin'. This is a beautiful nursery. The crib, everything." Harley said as she sat in the rocking chair. "Nothing is too good for my lil girl," Joker said as he finished changing Jessie and handed her over to Harley. "Awww. She looks so peaceful when she's asleep. Doesn't she, Puddin'?" Harley asked Joker. "She sure does. Now if anything should happen, I want you to put Jessie somewhere safe and call me." Joker said in a whisper, so he wouldn't wake up his little Princess. Harley nodded her head and kissed Joker. "Goodnight my lil Princess," Joker said as he gently kissed Jessie. Then he walked out of the nursery and went downstairs to round up his men and left to go cause some chaos and destruction.
Harley watched Jessie sleeping for a few minutes before putting her into her crib. She took the baby monitor, turned on her nightlight, and closed the door. A few hours later, Jessie woke up crying. Harley went upstairs along with Frost to see what Jessie needed. "Oh, my lil Puddin' cup, what's the matter?" Harley asked her as she picked Jessie up, out of the crib. "She doesn't look too good. I'll go get the thermometer." Frost said. Harley felt Jessie's head, which was warm. "Frosty!!! She's burning up!!! What are we going to do?" Harley said as she held a screaming- crying, Jessie. Harley tried to comfort her but nothing worked. Jessie's mouth filled up and then she threw up all over Harley. "Here, Harley. I'll take care of Jessie, you go shower." Frost said as he took the crying Jessie away. Harley went into one of many bathrooms, took off her clothes, and went into the shower. Meanwhile, Frost was downstairs with a sick Jessie, trying to call a doctor that makes house calls. Jessie was crying and shivering in Frost's arms. Harley came down in an old t-shirt and pajama shorts, when she saw Jessie shivering, she quickly grabbed one of her baby blankets and wrapped her in the blanket. "Ma-ma" Jessie cried. "I'm here baby girl. Shhhhhhh. Mama's here." Harley said as she rubbed Jessie's back. "Dada?" She asked. "Dada is at work, but Mama will call him," Harley said as she dialed Joker's cell. "Harley, what's wrong? Jessie is sick and she's burning up. Please come home, Puddin'." Harley said. Joker immediately turned around and headed back home. Once Joker was back home, he ran to aid his poor sick baby girl. "Harley? Jessie? Where are my girls at?" Joker said. "We're in the living room, Puddin'," Harley said. "How is she?" He asked her. "Not good. She threw up and has a fever. Frosty has been trying to get a doctor." She said as her voice breaks. "Where is she?" He asked, "On the couch." She replied. As Joker entered the living room, he heard little cries. "Baby girl?" Joker said as he placed his hand on Jessie's back. "Dada. Ssie ick (Jessie sick)." Jessie replied. "I know baby. That's why Daddy's home. I'm going to take care of you until you are all better." He said as he picked her up. "Let's go see if Uncle Frosty got a doctor for you," Joker said as he carried his baby girl with Harley following behind him. "Any luck with getting a doctor in, Frost?" Joker asked him. "No boss. I tried everyone & everything. Even my friend, who is a doctor, but-. Hello? Yeah. You'll do it. Thanks." Frost said as he hung up his phone. "Well, is the doc coming over or not!?" Joker asked in an annoyed voice. "He'll be here in a few minutes, boss," Frost replied.
Jessie's mouth filled up once more and she threw up all over Joker's coat. Jessie's eyes filled up with tears, as she looked at her daddy's face which showed anger. Harley took Jessie from his arms and walked into the living room, while he took off his coat, he said to Frost "GET MY COAT CLEANED NOW!!!!!" He ordered. Jessie felt bad, but Harley knew she couldn't help it because she was sick and was still a baby. "Honey, it's okay. Please don't be sad. Daddy's not mad, he's just not used to a sweet lil baby girl like you." Harley said as she cuddled Jessie in her arms. Joker walked by them and sat across from them. Jessie hid her face in Harley's chest, for she was frightened by the way her daddy looked at her before. "What's wrong with her? Why is she hiding, Harley?" Joker asked her. "Jessie's hiding because YOU gave her an angered look and now she thinks that you are mad at her," Harley replied. Joker got up from his chair and walked over to Harley and took Jessie from her arms. "Baby girl. Look at Daddy." Joker said to Jessie. Jessie slowly looked up at her daddy, but she covered her eyes with her hands. "Sweetie, please look at Daddy," Joker said calmly. Jessie removed her hands and looked at her daddy with tear-filled eyes. "Baby girl, I'm sorry I scared you. Daddy forgot that you were sick. Can you forgive Daddy?" Joker said with a sad pout. "Dada wuv ou. (love you)" Jessie replied. Joker smiled and kissed his lil princess.
Just then the doctor came in along with Frost. "So she still has the fever and now she's throwing up. Well, she caught the stomach virus, but not to worry, she'll be fine in a few days or so. Just give her the medicine, fluids, and no solid foods." The doctor said. "Got it, got it, got it," Joker said as he swished his hand at the doctor to tell him to leave. After the doctor left, Joker, Harley, and Jessie went upstairs to bed. Joker carried Jessie and placed her in her crib, kissed her good night, and placed the baby monitor on the shelf. He closed her door and walked into his bedroom, where Harley was waiting for him. The two had MAD SEX and went to bed. It was now 3:45 am when Harley's phone went off. She hoped that Joker didn't wake up, because "Buckshot" aka Deadshot was calling her. "Why the hell are you calling me this early in the morning, Deadshot?!" She yelled quietly so Joker wouldn't wake up. "I have an update for you. Waller is nearby and she has a lot of guys with her, so wherever you are at, you better high-tail it outta there." Deadshot said. "But I'm with Mr. J. He has a lot of weapons to kill that bitch with. Anyway, I'm a mom now. I can't leave my baby." Harley said. "Whoa, wait a minute. When the hell were you pregnant and is it Joker's?" Deadshot asked. "First off, I WASN'T PREGNANT!!!!! Secondly, Mr. J found a baby girl whose birth parents abandoned her and took her in. So yes the baby is Mr. J's!!!" Harley yelled.
"Well, you know Waller. If she finds Joker, she gets you. So you have a choice Harley, either stay there and get caught or go on the run and hide somewhere, where I can get you." Deadshot said. "Meet me in the woods by the park in about 30 minutes," Harley said sadly. "Okay," Deadshot replied as he hung up the phone. Harley left Joker's bedroom and went into Jessie's nursery to take her last look at her daughter. "Are you going to listen to Buckshot, Harley?" Joker said as he stood in the doorway of Jessie's nursery. "I don't know, Mr. J. I don't want to put you or Jessie in any danger. Also if Waller finds you, she'll use you to get to me." Harley said as she began to cry. "Come on, baby. Jessie wouldn't want to hear/ see you upset." Joker said in a whisper as he and Harley looked at their daughter who was fast asleep and was sucking on her pacifier. "Anyway, I LOVE DANGER!!! HA HA HAAAAAAAA." Joker said as he laughed quietly so he wouldn't scare or wake Jessie up. "I know you do Puddin', but whose going to protect Jessie from Waller or Batsy? I would die if they got her. She's so precious, and I just love both so much that I need to let you both go." Harley said. "THEN GO. But remember what I told you. NO SECOND CHANCE!!!" Joker said. Just then Jessie had woken up from a bad dream. "Shh... My blue-eyed princess. It's okay. Daddy's got you. Daddy's got you." Joker said soothingly. Jessie did calm down but was now whimpering. "Come on baby girl. Let's go get you a nice warm bottle." Joker said as he carried Jessie downstairs to the kitchen. "Here you go, sweetie. You swing, while Daddy makes you a bottle." Joker said. Back upstairs, Harley was getting all of her stuff packed. She decided to leave a note for Joker, hoping that he would understand, her one day on her choice.
After she was done writing the note, she placed it on his pillow and went downstairs, to say her good-byes. Once Harley was downstairs, she saw Joker and Jessie sitting in the living room. "Good girl. You finished your bottle." Joker said as he kissed Jessie's cheek. "Mr. J? Can I say goodbye to Jessie, please?" Harley asked him. "Yes, but make it quick, because she needs to go back to bed." He replied as he handed Jessie over to her. "Hi there, lil Puddin' cup. Mama has to go away for a while, but Daddy will take good care of you. (Harley's voice breaks) Mama loves you so much. So goodbye baby girl." Harley said as tears rolled down her cheeks. "Here, Mr. J," Harley said as she gave Jessie back to Joker. "Harley? You better get going before Waller shows up." Joker said to Harley. "yeah, I know." She replied. "You know I will come and find you because I would do anything for you, my queen," Joker said as he kissed her. "Goodbye, Puddin'. I love you both." Harley said as she left, leaving the King alone with his Princess once more.
