Am so so so sorry for the late update. I hope you will forgive me.

Recap: Jessie Jones went to birthday party Cassie's birthday party.( Nate's younger sister ) and there she met her old friends including Nate who introduced him self to Jessie .

I was so confused after the party. What the hell was wrong with Nate. He was acting so friendly there. We even exchanged numbers but he still didn't recognize me.

Jason was so happy to hear I had fun in the party. He was about to say "I told you so" when he saw my expression and asked,

"Okay what's wrong."

I told him everything about the party tears rolling down on my cheeks. From the part where I ran from the party ,to where Rivers followed me to where Nate introduced himself ,to where we gisted with Nate ,to where he hugged me good bye.

"I don't know what is wrong with him,"I finished with a sigh.

"Come here,"he said opening his hands.

I stayed like that for some minutes. I felt so safe in my big brothers arms.

Jason broke the hug.

"Have you asked rivers and Evan about it," he asked.

"They didn't tell me anything about him. I think they are hiding something," I told him

"So you think if you ask them again they won't tell you," he asked.

"Yeah but I can try."I said.

"Try and also you should try and be close friends with Nate. I know you still like him. Try and be close to him. Maybe one day he will recognize you if you do something. If not one day he will tell you what happened to him, " my brother said.

I was not in the mood to argue with him about me not liking Nate anymore so I just said, "good night"

I started climbing the stairs but then I turned back and said ,"Jason"

"Yeah?" He answered.

"Thank you," I said, I had to thank him . It is not every brother that is this caring. It was not even everyday that he was like this. But he was always there when I needed him.That was what I was happy for.

"For what"he asked.

"For the hug and the talk" I answered.

"You are not welcome. You spoiled my new shirt. Now I can never wear it again. I don't even know when it will dry. I bet it will take a year or so before it will get dried," he said chuckling .

Ladies and gentlemen that was my real brother. The other one was a........ I don't know. But I was pretty sure he was not my brother.

I just ignored him and walked away

Alarm is the greatest enemy of a student maybe excluding exams, assignments and tests. I yawned as I heard my alarm beeping for the 3rd time. Then stood up lazily. I didn't have a choice. I had to go to that stupid school.

I was afraid ,excited,sad and nervous.I was afraid that Nate could ignore me like he did last two weeks and was excited that he could talk to me since he said we are now friends. He even said sorry to me for the Nicole's seat issue. And was sad that even if he talks to me he would talk to me as his new friend that he met on Saturday not his childhood best friend because he didn't recognize me. I didn't know what was wrong with him. But I had to find out.

I quickly did my morning routines. I spent an an hour in shower just letting the hot water ran through me thinking about Nate and everything .

I spent another hour getting ready. I decided to look good again so that I would look like my oldself maybe Nate would recognize me then. I put a little makeup. Mascara and eyeliner and a pink lipstick.

I wore a brown leggings with a white longsleve blouse. Then I put a brown scarf on my neck. I pair it with my brown boots. I picked my brown bag and stuffed my assignments, my earpiece and my phone then quickly ran downstairs.

"You are late. You are going to make me late for my lectures," Jason said.

"Am sorry," I said dryly. The way I said it showed I didn't mean it at all. Which was true. I took a slice of bread and headed to the door.

Mom and dad were all upstairs getting ready for the day. And James was already in the car.

"Hello James, " I greeted him.

"Hello sis. You look so beautiful," he said.

"Awww thanks Jamie. You too do ," I replied back .

"Awww my sister looks.......," Jason started.

Was Jason going to compliment me or were my ears not working properly? Maybe the second one.

"Like a monster," Jason finished.

I knew it. He would never say something nice about me.

"Don't worry sis. He is probably jealous because he is the ugliest one in our family. We all know who looks like a monster in this car," James said.

Have I ever said this before. I loved James so much.I laughed and stuck my tongue at Jason .

"Why is it that James always sides you?" Jason asked when we dropped James in his school.

"I don't really know." I answered truthfully." Maybe he loves me more," I said.

"Whatever,"he said.

"So are you dressing up for Nate? " he asked as he parked the car.

"Nope," I said and quickly exited the car.

I was so nervous when I entered the school building. I went straight to my locker and dumped my belongings.

Just then the fsquare came. Nate came first with Nicole in his arm. Then Alicia with her phone on her hands .I didn't know where Evan and Rivers are.

Everyone stopped what they were doing to look at them. If you see how they were walking it was like they own the whole school. Everyone was waving at them and looking at them with passion.

"Jessie," I heard someone shouted my name. I turned around and saw Nate running towards me leaving Nicole behind.

"Ohh hi Nate, " I said nervously. The whole hallways was looking at me. Nicole, Alicia and almost all other girls were glaring at me.

"uhm Jessie I want to ask you something," Nate said.

My heart was beating so fast. What was that guy going to ask me. There was a homecoming dance comming soon. He had a girlfriend so I knew he was not going to ask me to be his date.

"Please can you be my math tutor,"he asked.

Ohhh so that's what this is about not a date to the homecoming  I said in my mind.

"Uhmm I will think about it," I told him.

"Ohh come on Jessie. Don't play hard to get. I want an answer now. You see I really need to pass my maths exams . Please help me.

"They are many other students in the class Nate, " I said.

Yeah I know but please you see the others are all nerds. You were the only one with 97% percent in the last test. The others were  all below 90. You are the best in that class. Come on please," Nate said with his best puppy dog eyes.

I figured out that was the only way to get us close. I needed to know why he was acting like he don't recognize me or  if he really he don't t recognize me. I needed to be close to him so that he could trust me maybe then he would tell me since it looked Evan and Rivers were not planning to tell me.

"Yes" I said after much thinking.

"Yess what? " he asked.

"Yes I will tutor you Nate ," I said with a small smile.

"Omg!! Thank you so much Jessie . You don't know what passing maths means to me. Am so grateful. You are the best female in the whole world. " Nate said suddenly enveloping me in big hug.

Those days he always used to say am his second best female in the world. His mom is his first. So what about his mom now. I remembered I didn't see her at Cassie party and he didn't talk about her nor did Evan or Rivers did. I was about to ask him how was
she when Nicole said,

"What about me"

"Uhmm you know I didn't mean that right Nicole, " Nate said walking towards her.

"I really don't. You just hugged her." She said frankly.

"Well but she didn't get this" Nate said kissing her and then started walking to maths' class.

He knew she was jealous too.

He turned back and winked at me.

Looked like Nate didn't change after all. He was the same Nate I had known since kindergarten.  But something was definitely wrong with him. It's time to find out.
