The Peculiar Case Of Zero and Draven Graphite

I've been meaning to talk about this for a while now, but here I finally am.

So I'm not sure whether you've noticed or not, but if you can remember back to when Draven was first introduced, he was a sly and reckless young adult who was pure evil. Or so we thought. But now, Draven is a scared and only just social person who is slowly slipping away into depression.

You might think: "So, what's wrong about that? He's just had a change of personality!" But no, it's much more than that.

Draven has made such a quick jump from evil to depressed that it's barely natural. If you can think back to the 49th chapter, where Viri was talking Draven, Draven mentioned about Zero's semblance, manipulation.

You see, Zero has the power to manipulate people - Craft them into what he wants to be. But only for a certain amount of time. During the time that Draven was an evil and murderous person, he was under Zero's manipulation.

A simple way to describe this is that Draven is like a puppet/marionette to Zero. When Zero uses his semblance on Draven, he is controlling Draven, just like you would do if you were to use a puppet/marionette. When Zero's semblance has worn off, Draven is free, and has escaped from the "strings" if you were to describe it like that.

So let's talk a little more about Zero's semblance. Zero can use his semblance for only a certain amount of time. The time could be from seconds, to minutes, to hours, to days. But not years. Zero is not strong enough to use his semblance for that long. The time changes every time he uses his semblance. Not to mention, Zero can even use his semblance on Draven when he's very far away.

Draven's soul practically belongs to Zero once Zero uses his semblance. If Zero were to master his semblance, he can manipulate Draven for as long as he likes. Maybe forever...

But why Draven?

Well, the truth is, Zero has only mastered a tiny slither of his semblance. Once fully, FULLY mastered, Zero can manipulate absolutely anybody he likes.

But another thing is, is that Draven was the first ever person who Zero used his semblance on, and since Zero has manipulated Draven so many times it's too hard to count them, he can't turn his focus onto manipulating someone else.

But, luckily, Zero's semblance has a weakness.

Love.

If Draven were to fall in love, he is free.

But right now, Draven isn't free.

This will probably confuse you, but hear me out.

We all know that Draven is in love with Celenia, right?

So why can Draven still be manipulated?

The truth is, Draven needs to find his TRUE love in order for himself to be safe from Zero's semblance. And Celenia is not his true love.

It is someone else.

I'm not going to spoil who it is, but you may know who it is anyways, but anyways, if Draven were to find his true love, he is officially free from Zero's semblance. However, when Draven becomes free from Draven's semblance, Zero's semblance will become weaker and weaker until his semblance is basically useless.

Notice who Zero states that "Love is for weaklings"?

Well, this is him trying to force Draven out of finding his true love, so that he can keep on perfecting his semblance.

So, that is basically all I can say really. I know it's like super complicated and all, but basic runthrough if you didn't understand that Zero can control Draven, and if he keeps on practising his semblance and his semblance becomes stronger he can manipulate whoever he likes, at whatever time, but if Draven were to find his true love (Not Celenia) Zero's semblance will become weaker and weaker until it's useless.

So yeah, I hope you guys understand, and I hope that wraps a little bit up about Zero and Draven. ^u^
