(March 13th, 2005) Jenny's POV

When I woke up this morning I saw dad reattaching Bella's battery cables and shake my head with a chuckle. Must have thought she was gonna sneak out last night. We both had breakfast together before leaving. Him to go fishing with guys from the station and me to La Push. I decide to go to the beach first as it'd be to early for Jacob to be up yet.

As I am chilling on the beach my phone rings and I see it's Bella. "What's up?" I ask her.

"Edward wants me to meet his family and I have no idea what to wear" she tells me in a rush. I blink and laugh. "It's not funny Jenny" she whines.

"Bella, just be you" I tell her. "The Cullens won't care how you dress" I assure her.

"Please help, you're supposed to be a future designer" she pleads.

"Fine, go casual. And if you want to dress up a little. Wear your skirt and dark blue blouse" I tell her. "Hair up" I add.

"Thank you Jenny, you're a life savior" she tells me.

"Need anymore advice?" I ask her.

"Um, no I think I'm good" she assures me.

"I look forward to hearing all about it later" I tell her.

"Of course you are" she mutters and I giggle.

"Have fun with your boy friend and his family" I tease. "Love you sister" I say before hanging up. Then my phone rings again, this time it's Rosalie. "Hey, how was the dance last night?" I ask her.

"Magical" she tells me with a dreamy tone of voice and I giggle. "Emmett and I danced all night" she tells me. "Then we may have had some alone time in his room" she admits.

"Ew, TMI Rose" I tell her chuckling. "Did Alice and Jasper have fun also?" I ask her.

"Yes, they did. They went on a moonlight stroll when we got home" she states.

"By the way, a little birdie told me she is meeting your family today. Try not to scare her to much" I tell Rosalie.

"I didn't plan on saying hi" she grumbles. Good mood gone.

"Ok, why don't you like my sister?" I ask her.

"It's nothing personal, I just think she and Edward are rushing things" she states. "I mean it hasn't even been a week yet and they are meeting each others parents" she rants.

"True, I would have waited longer" I agree. "But we can't control them Rose, they are free to make their own choices. Just as you are free to make your own, but I assure you Bella isn't so bad once you get to know her" I tell her.

"I'll keep that in mind" she mumbles. "Esme is making her lunch" she states.

"Oh if there are leftovers, can you have some sent home with Bella?" I ask her eagerly. She chuckles.

"I'm surprised you're not fat the way you eat sometime" she teases.

"Hey, your mum's cooking is amazing and I am perfectly fit" I tell her. "You know if you want to get away, come down to La Push. The beach is deserted" I state.

"No thanks, I'd rather not be covered in sand. But you have fun" she tells me. "I'll tell Esme about the food" she assures me and we said our goodbyes. Just then I notice a girl with long raven hair and rustic skin storm onto the beach with tears in her eyes. Wait, is that Leah?

I get up and approach her as she sits on a log looking out at the sea. "Leah?" I ask and she looks up at me wiping her eyes. "Um you may not remember me, I'm Jenny Swan. From Forks" I tell her.

"I've seen you at a few bonfires" she sniffles.

"What's wrong?" I ask her concerned as I sit beside her.

"Sam dumped me for my cousin" she cries.

"Oh Leah" I say and hug her stroking her long hair. "I'm so sorry that happened, how could any man do that?" I ask her.

"I don't know" she states. "We were fine, then he got sick and then he changed. Got a hair cut and tattoo. Then Emily and him meet. He broke up with me, then Emily was attacked by a bear and Sam never left her side as she recovered. Now she is home and they are dating" she explains.

"Sam is a jerk for doing that you and your cousin is a bitch for falling for your boyfriend. I'd never do that to my sister" I tell her. "Phone" I say and she hands it to me confused. I type in my number and save it. Then send myself a message so I have her number. "There, we have each others numbers now and if you ever want to talk. Just call me" I tell her and she gives me a small smile. "Lets go swimming" I tell her.

"But the water will be freezing" she tells me.

"So?" I ask as I remove my jacket.

"And I don't have my bathers" she adds.

"Nor do I, but what else are underwear for?" I ask her as I remove my shoes. "Come on, we're all alone and it'll take your mind off your jerk of a ex" I tell her and she smiles. She stripes to her underwear and I hold my hand out to her. She take sit. "On three" I tell her.

"One" she says.

"Two" I say.

"Three" we say together and run into the water. Which was freezing. But we didn't care, we dive in and splash each other having fun. When we return to the beach we're both shivering with bright smiles on our faces. We get dressed and start a fire.

"You know, I've always loved driftwood fire" I tell her as I stare at the green flames.

"It is beautiful" she admits. "So what brought you to the rez today?" she asks me curious.

"I was gonna see the Blacks. But you kind of side tracked me" I admit. "Are you still in school?" I ask her curious.

"No, graduated last year. You?" she asks me.

"I graduate this year" I tell her.

"Going to college?" she asks.

"Yep, though haven't applied yet" I admit. "Maybe you could apply with me, we can both go together" I suggest. But she doesn't answer and is staring behind me. I follow her gaze to see three shirtless men, aren't they cold? "Who are they?" I ask her.

"Sam and his new friends" she mutters. "That's Jared on the left and Paul on the right. Both in their last years of school" she state. "Honestly, they weren't even friends in school. Then Jared and Paul got sick. Then they to changed and now follow Sam around like lost puppies" she tells me. As we watch them head for the cliffs. "Probably going cliff diving" she mutters.

"I took Jacob cliff diving when he was thirteen. We both got grounded" I tell her with a chuckle. I check the time. "Hey it's lunch time, want to go grab a bite?" I ask her.

"Not hungry, I think I'll go home. I have some chores to do" she states. "Thank you for being here and talking to me. I really needed a friend" she tells me.

"Remember, I'm only a phone call away" I remind her. She nods her head and we hug. Then go our separate ways. I go to the Blacks to see them having BBQ.

"Jenny, thought you'd gotten lost" Billy says with a smile.

"Me? Never" I tell him and give him a hug. "I was on the beach and lost track of time" I admit sheepishly.

"No trouble, food should be ready soon" he states. "Embry and Quil are here also" he tells me.

"Super" I say and he chuckles. I had a fun afternoon with at the Black house and Jake had some tires for me. So we changed them over. He did a wheel alignment for me too. I gave him some money for his work, because unlike Rosalie he won't say no to it. Besides he needs it for pars for the car he is fixing up for himself. A red 1986 Volkswagen Rabbit.

I then stayed for dinner. When I get in the car my phone rings, it's Dad. Probably wondering when I'll be home. "Hey Dad" I say as I answer the call turning on my car.

"Jenny, Bella left" he tells me.

"What?" I ask him confused.

"She's going home to Phoenix" he state.

"What?!" I exclaim shocked. Why would she leave so suddenly? "What happened? Why did she leave?" I demand.

"She said she couldn't put any more roots do here, she had a fight with Edward while on a date with him and his family. While they played baseball, she just packed a bag and left. I tried to convince her to stay until morning, saying I'd take her to the airport if she hadn't changed her mind. But she didn't listen" he explains and I can tell how hurt he is by what Bella's done.

"I'm going after her" I tell him.

"No, Jenny. You don..." he starts to say.

"No dad, she can't just leave like that!" I snap. "I am going after her and I am bringing her home. I love you dad and I will be safe" I assure him.

"Just take car, drive safe" he tells me. I agree and hang up. The program Phoenix into my phone. Then set off following the GPS. Not know the danger I am driving towards. If only Alice hadn't been so focused on Victoria and James, her family. Maybe things would have turned out differently. But I don't regret my snap decision to go after Bella and I never will. She's my little sister and I love her.
