Nightmare
Jenny's POV
I didn't get much sleep last night. I woke up at five in the morning. Instead of going back to sleep, I decided to write in my journal. I hadn't written in it since Bella arrived. So I sit in the old rocking chair with the desk lamp on.
So as not to wake up Bella and start to write about all that's happened since she arrived in Forks. Bella is still asleep on her bed listening to a CD through her head phones. She'd fallen asleep still dressed with her shoes on. So I removed her shoes last night before I went to bed and placed a blanket over her. So she wouldn't get cold.
I am so absorbed into my writing. I don't notice when Bella starts to have a nightmare. Until she sits up suddenly exclaiming "no!". Her sudden movement caused the headphones to pull the CD player off the bedside table, and it clattered to the wooden floor.
"You ok, Bella?" I ask her concerned.
"Just a bad dream" she says breathing heavily. She looks at the clock that reads five thirty in the morning. "Why are you up so early?" she asks me curious.
"Couldn't sleep, happens sometimes" I tell her as I go back to writing.
"You have a nightmare too?" she asks.
"No, just couldn't sleep" I tell her. "So I decided to write in my journal" I state.
"I didn't know you kept a journal" she states.
"I don't really tell anyone, I'd hate for someone to read my private thoughts" I tell her. "What was the nightmare about?" I ask her curious.
"Something about a wolf attacking..." she blushes and I smirk.
"Dreaming of Edward again" I tease.
"The wolf was going to kill him" she states.
"Well it's clear you are smitten" I tell her. "You going back to bed?" I ask.
"No, I can't stop thinking about that dream" she admits. She grabs her bathroom bag. "I'm gonna go shower" she states.
"Don't use all the hot water" I tell her and she nods her head. Before leaving the room. As I continue to write in my journal, I'm already up to the beach trip. I can write quickly when I get absorbed in it. Just like when I'm designing or reading a book. I could be working on one design and next time I check I am on number ten.
I finish updating it when I hear Bella finished in the shower. I hid my journal in the loose floor board under my bed. Then I grab my bathroom bag and decide to get ready for the day also. Glad it's Sunday. When I finish, I see Bella waiting for the modem to dial. "Emailing your mum?" I ask her.
"No, just going to do some research" she states.
"Ok, want some cereal while you wait?" I ask. She nods her head and follows me down to the kitchen. "Dad went fishing again, by the way" I add. I saw him leave early this morning. She nods her head. I make us a bowl of cereal each and she takes her's upstairs.
After I finish my bowl, I rinse it and then do the laundry. As I finish folding it, Bella comes downstairs. "I'm going out for a walk" she tells me.
"Where?" I ask her.
"The forest" she answers.
"I'll come with" I tell her grabbing my coat.
"I won't go far" she tells me.
"Bella, dad would kill me is he found out I let you go into the woods alone" I state. "So either I come or you don't go" I tell her. Putting on my big sister pants. She sighs and we left the house. Locking the door and I lead her down the small trial at the back of the house. "How did your research go?" I ask her curious.
"Not good, nothing seemed to fit. It was very aggravating" she states. She must have been researching the Cullens. I was a little aggravated when I first found out about vampires. But still no proof they are, I am about 80% sure they are vampires. However, I'll let them decide if they wish to tell me and remain quiet.
"I'm sure you'll figure it out, you're smart" I assure her. She soon slows her pace as it starts to rain lightly. Bella headed over to a recently fallen tree and sits down. I sit beside her as it continues to rain lightly. I could tell Bella was in deep thought and let her think. While I survey the forest for any threats. Though the chance of something dangerous being this close to town was unlikely. You can never be to careful.
(Mini time skip)
Bella gets up. "Lets go home" she suggests. I nod and lead the way. If I let Bella do it, we'd probably get lost. We got back to the house by noon. Bella then went to do her homework and I remember I have a history essay to write. So I decide to a do a draft. As it's not due until Tuesday.
Afterwards Bella and I cleaned the house together. Before she made dinner. Dad arrived home in time for dinner. Bella and I then went to bed early as it's a school night. She didn't have another nightmare, thank god. And I managed to sleep all night.
It's a nice day today, the sun is out. Which means I'll be sitting alone at lunch. Maybe I'll eat outside and enjoy the sun while it lasts. I'm wearing a tank top and shorts. But have a jacket if needed. Bella and I arrived at the school early.
We sit on our jackets at one of the benches enjoying the sun before school. Our peace was ruined when Mike appeared wanting to talk to Bella. I ignore them as they talk. Until it was time for me to head to class. School was dale without the Cullens. But it wasn't so bad.
When I got home, Bella invited me to go to Port Angeles with her and two of her friends. But I told her I couldn't as I was going to the Cullens tomorrow night. She went outside to enjoy the sun and read. While I decide to finish my history essay. Which is due tomorrow.
After I finish it. I get inspired to sketch. So grab my sketch pad and start to sketch out some new designs. Using what I have seen this weekend at the beach and in the forest as inspiration.
I lose track of time, until I hear dad return from work. I look at the time and curse. It's nearly dinner time, where's Bella? Just then she comes in through the kitchen door and starts dinner. As dad comes in through the front.
"Sorry Jenny, Dad, dinner's not ready yet. I fell asleep outside" Bella says stifling a yawn.
"Don't worry about it" dad tells her. "I wanted to catch the score on the game, anyway" he states. Dinner wasn't to fancy. Afterwards, we all watched TV together. There wasn't anything on I wanted to watch. But he knew Bella and I didn't like baseball, so he turned it to some mindless sitcom that none of us enjoyed. He seemed happy, though, to be doing something together. All three of us, and it felt good.
Bella tells him about her plans tomorrow night with her friends. "I'm also going to the Cullens, I'll eat there" I add.
"Well, okay" he tells us. "It's a school night, though" he reminds us.
"Dad, when have I ever been out late with the Cullens on a school night?" I ask him.
"We'll leave right after school, so we can get back early. You'll be okay for dinner, right?" Bella asks him.
"Bells, I fed myself and Jenny for seventeen years before you got here" dad reminds her.
"I don't know how you both survived" she mutters. I chuckle. "I'll leave some things for cold-cut sandwiches in the fridge, okay? Right on top" she tells him. He nods his head and I call it a night with Bella.
It was another sunny day at school. But I got a text from Alice, the clouds will return tomorrow. Which means I'll have my lunch buddies back. She assured me it's still good for me to come over tonight. That they'd have pizza for me. I love Esme's homemade pizza. Actually, I love anything she makes. She is an amazing cook, Alice and the others are so lucky to have her for a mum. And Carlisle for a dad.
