"You know, if I had a dick, it would probably be bigger than his."

***

A month had passed, and people had started to heal. The flowers around Jackson's memorial had wilted, including a rose Lydia had left. Things really were getting better in Beacon Hills; it was clear to see.

Yet, there was always a reminder of what had happened. "Before the period ends, I just wanted to make an announcement." Mrs Martin started. "As you all know, today is the one month anniversary of the tragedy at Melody Lane... and the unfortunate murder of Jackson Whittemore-"

"Boring!" The attention of the class was soon drawn to Jennifer, who had her head in her hands. Her skin looked pale, and her hair was greasy. It looked like she hadn't slept for days; her mood dampened.

"Jesus, what a bitch." Another classmate muttered nearby. Sadly, Lydia was forced to endure her foul mood.

Mrs Martin continued with an irritated tone. "As I was saying, Jennifer and Lydia," Her daughter narrowed her eyes, having not done anything. "I finally have some good news to share. The members of the rock and roll group, Lance & Griffin, have decided to support us during this trying time. As you all know, their song 'Through the Trees' has become the anthem of Beacon Hills. And they have decided to release it as a benefit single."

Lydia sat up, confused. "What?"

"Three per cent of the profits will go to local families who have been affected by loss." She informed the class.

"And what about the other ninety-seven per cent? Come on, that's just crass." Lydia pointed out. However, it seemed that her classmates did not share the same views. "Crass? It means greedy or exploitative. That's literally what this band is doing; they're exploiting a tragedy."

"Lance & Griffin are American heroes." A girl, Chasity, stated. She noticeably displayed her affection for the band through the use of their merchandise.

"No, they're not! I was there, Chasity. They didn't help anybody escape the fire. How did that rumour even start?" she asked.

Chasity looked offended. "Rumour? It's on Wikipedia!"

"Yeah, a website that people can edit stuff on." Lydia sarcastically mentioned. "I bet we wouldn't even know who they were if they hadn't been playing that night. They used us."

With fury in her eyes, Chasity stood up. "You take that back, Lydia Martin!"

"Girls-!" Mrs Martin attempted to interrupt them.

"We need them now more than ever." She believed.

Lydia rolled her eyes. "We really don't!"

"That's enough!" Just then, the bell rang and the class began to leave. Chasity continued to glare at Lydia until she left the classroom, disappointed in her for some reason. In fact, loads of her classmates stared at her displeasingly, even her own mother.

If only they believed her.

As Jennifer slipped off her seat, she groaned. "Ugh, I'm sick of this song."

"I'm glad someone is." The girls faced each other, Lydia noticing her broken expression. She looked like her normal self again, but even worse this time. "Are you okay? You look really tired."

"No! I feel like boo-boo." They began to leave, Jennifer clutching her folder tightly. "My skin is breaking out, like, everywhere. My hair is dull and lifeless, and I feel disgusting. God, it's like I'm one of the normal girls."

Lydia glanced back at her as they exited the classroom. "What's wrong with that? I like the old you."

"No, you took pity on the "old me". I'm glad I'm not that stupid bitch anymore." Jennifer asserted with a harsh tone.

Although she was being rude, Lydia still questioned what was wrong with her. "Are you P.M.S.-ing or something?"

"P.M.S isn't real, Lydia. It was something created by the boy-run media to make us seem crazy." She told her.

In a sense, she agreed with her. "I mean, it's science, but I guess that could be true as well."

"Look, I think it's just wearing off. I'll be back to normal soon." She declared.

Lydia squinted, bewildered as to what she meant. "What's wearing off?"

Before she could expand further, Alex Drake approached them. He nervously clung to his backpack as he greeted them. "Hello, Lydia."

"Hi."

He turned his attention towards Jennifer, shyly rubbing his nose. "Hey, Jennifer."

She shone a fake smile. "Yeah, hi, Alex. Can I borrow your English homework? I decided that Hamlet is shit, so I didn't read it. I swear he, like, fucks his mom or something."

Alex awkwardly chuckled. "No, I don't - I don't think so... Um, I actually wanted to ask you something."

"You wanna know if I'll go out with you?" she asked for him.

"No...!" he defended. However, after a stinging pause, Alex anxiously confessed. "Yeah. Yeah, I was. How'd you know?"

She huffed, standing in the middle of the hallway with a tired expression. "Just go ahead with the pitch."

"Okay. Um... Well, we've been having a lot of fun in class, you and I, and I thought that maybe you'd like to see a movie or something?" he wondered. "There's a midnight screening of "Rocky Horror" at the Bijou next weekend. Would you like to watch it with me?"

Jennifer shook her head. "I don't like boxing movies."

He awkwardly chuckled. "It's not... it's not a... fuck it. Forget I ever said anything."

Alex started to walk away, annoyed with himself. Lydia scoffed, completely stunned. "That was random."

"I'm used to guys asking me out now, Di. Sometimes, I wish I could turn my pheromones off." She commented.

The girls moved again, slowly shuffling down the hallway. "Wait, you've been asked out before?"

"Several times and that's only in the last few weeks."

"In the duration of a month?" she checked.

"What can I say? I got hot." Jennifer stated.

Lydia glanced at Alex again. "But Alex is really nice. Why don't you take a chance on him?"

"He's into maggot rock and gothic literature." She mentioned. "You know, if I had a dick, it would probably be bigger than his."

Her friend shrugged. "Well, I think he's cool."

Jennifer turned her head, a curious smirk appearing on her face. "You do?"

She nodded. "Yeah. He's nice to talk to sometimes."

Tilting her head in a prying manner, her eyes wandered towards Alex. Jennifer widely grinned. "Alex, wait up!" The timid boy stopped, glancing back in puzzlement. She jogged up to him, stroking a piece of hair behind her ear. "Why don't you just come to my place tonight? I just rented 'Aquamarine' from Video 2C. It's about this girl who's, like, half-sushi. I guess she has sex through her blowhole or something."

His eyes widened. "Really?"

"Really, really." She confirmed. "You down?"

"Okay, um, y-yeah." Alex stammered. A shy smile slowly appeared on his face, now brimming with unexpected joy. "Great, yeah!"

"Okay, I'll text you my address, all right?" she said.

"Cool." He replied. There was a slight tone of disbelief still lingering in his voice, but he was overly confident that she wanted to go out with him.

Soon enough, to avoid any further awkwardness, Alex retreated down the hallway with a gleeful smile. Jennifer's gaze remained, watching him as he disappeared around a corner. At this point, she was desperate. She would eat anything that smelled slightly reasonable, especially if they were on Lydia's good side. Boys and their teenage hormones made it so easy to find her next meal.

Behind the girls, Stiles dashed over to his girlfriend and wrapped his arms around her waist. "Hey, you."

Lydia chuckled, happy to see him. "Hi."

She leaned against the lockers as Jennifer turned around, her eyes firmly glued on Stiles. However, only Lydia noticed her stares.  Her smile grew wider as she seductively stepped closer to him. She licked her lips. "Hey, Stiles."

Before he could even look at her, Lydia pulled him in for a long kiss, distracting him. She heard Jennifer huff, clearly irritated. "Ugh, get a room!" she exclaimed, swiftly strolling away.

As soon as she was gone, she broke away from him. "What was that for?" he asked with a little smirk.

"Because you're my boyfriend, and that means I'm allowed." She answered.

Stiles didn't protest since he had been in love with her for years. He had waited patiently for the chance to kiss her, and he was not backing away now. "So, talking to your mysterious pal again."

She narrowed her eyes. "Who?"

"Alex Drake," stated Stiles. "I literally saw you talking to him a minute ago."

"Oh, him. We're not really pals." Lydia told him. "And also, he was asking out Jennifer."

He raised his eyebrows. "Like... on a date? Like a date-date?"

"Yes, a date-date." She confirmed. "She actually accepted." The astounded look on his face made her giggle. "I know. It's weird, isn't it."

"Yeah, I can't really picture them as a... couple..." Stiles admitted.

Lydia agreed with him. "Neither can I."

"Anyways, do you want to come round mine tonight?" he asked.

She smiled softly. "Yeah, sure."

"And, um... I was thinking..." Stiles started, clearly becoming anxious. "Okay, well, I went to Target earlier today... and I picked up some... condoms..."

"Yeah...?"

"Well, I just thought that maybe we could..." He couldn't seem to finish his sentence without hesitating. So, he lifted his hands and gestured to her. His right hand formed a circle with two fingers, then he used his other hand to poke a finger through it.

His girlfriend couldn't help but laugh at his awkwardness. "Yeah, I understood the moment you said "condoms", Stiles."

Mortified, he lowered his hands. "So, I didn't have to do that, then?"

"No... it was funny though." Lydia continued to laugh at his stupidity. Though, Stiles eventually joined in himself. They paused for a few moments, gathering themselves. "But I'd love to."

His eyes widened. "Wait, say that again."

"I want to have sex with you." She replied. "I think we've reached that point now in our relationship."

Stiles was clearly taken aback by her response, yet he was still pleased that she agreed with him. "Okay. Okay!"

Lydia nodded. "Yeah!"

"Yeah, okay!" he beamed, already hyping himself up. "So, I'll see you later then."

"Of course." She gave him a small peck on the cheek before they both started to walk away. As they wandered down the hallway, their eyes were fixed upon each other. Lydia blushed, observing as Stiles accidentally collided with Coach Finstock.

Coach Finstock met his eyes, sternly glaring at him. "Stilinski, watch where you're going! Greenberg did that once and I gave him a week's detention!"

"Sorry, Coach!" As he apologised, he took another glimpse at Lydia, awkwardly grinning at her.

Lydia silently chuckled, turning away from him. She proceeded to march down the hallway, feeling elated.

Although, she failed to notice Jennifer hiding around the corner, regarding the pair with envious eyes. Her jealousy had grown rife. She quietly snarled at her best friend, clutching onto her necklace. Jennifer didn't want to hurt Lydia since the two had an inseparable bond. She continuously reminded herself of that as the necklace cut deep into her palm, slicing through her skin. A few drops of blood emerged, but Jennifer was unaffected by the pain.

I feel like this wasn't one of my best chapters, but I enjoyed writing it anyway. I hope you enjoyed reading it. Stay tuned for the next chapter!
