Chapter 5
Jack's POV
This dare just ain't going the way I expected! Elsa is still boiling with rage everyday. Maybe, just maybe, should I admit my crush on her? Will it change her mind? Will she accept me the way I am? Or will she think we should just be best friends?
At least, I'm trying to enjoy the moment of this two month dare but Elsa ain't enjoying it at all. Is she's not happy, then I'm not happy either. What do I have to do to make her happy? Every single time I ask her that, Elsa replies that she wants the dare to end now and return to normal.
Next class was with Punzie and Hiccup. I sat beside Punzie just for this one time. Hey, don't get any ideas, I'm not crushing on her! Luckily Eugene wasn't here so he wouldn't think of anything. I explained my situation to Hiccup so he wouldn't get offended that I didn't sit with him.
"Speak." Punzie turned to me.
"Huh?" I blurted out.
"Come on Jack, the only reason you'd choose to sit with me than the others is that you have questions about girls." Punzie replied. "Eugene ain't here so go ahead."
"..... You got me." I smiled. "It's just, I've took Anna's advice and all, but it's just not working. On Elsa. You got any ideas?"
"Tell me how you feel around her."
"I feel like..."
"Butterflies in your stomach?"
"No. My mind is a total mess when I'm with her. This dare has gone nuts. I want to be with her, but I'm also afraid of losing her. I have a lot of what if's in my mind. I might be taking the dare a little seriously, but Elsa isn't. She just wants to be my best friend once again. So I'm afraid I might screw up everything. I wouldn't want to lose a beautiful friendship just because I want to be in a relationship with her."
"Wow Jack. Just, wow. I must say your feelings are a little more complicated than I expected. At least, it ain't what I've encountered."
"If you can't help me, then just say it."
"I want to help, but I need to think for a while. I know how Elsa feels too. Elsa pays way more attention to studies and not so much about relationships, that's why she isn't taking the dare seriously. Elsa's grades are excellent and she fears a relationship might pull her down. And that is why she has vowed not to be in a relationship during her high school years."
"I know that. She puts studies first. Not that I blame her, she is very smart and she doesn't want to let her parents down." I sighed.
After countless hours of teaching, school finally ended. I wish I could have just threw my books at prof just now, he was so annoying! I quickly met up with Elsa. I didn't want to keep her waiting.
"You look dreadful." Elsa said when she saw me.
"Really? I thought I looked amazing!" I joked.
"I mean, you're giving your dreadful look again. I've seen that plenty of times." Elsa smiled.
"All right, enough about how I look." I rolled my eyes. "Can-" I haven't finished when someone crashed into me from the back.
I turned around and saw it was Anna. What the heck Anna?! I thought you'd never wanna ruin a moment between me and Elsa! You're constantly happy when we're having a moment. "Sorry! So, so, so, sorry Jack! My shoes are totally wearing off!" Anna exclaimed. "Anyway, I just came to say this. Elsa, I'll be a little late, so just tell mom that, ok? I'm stuck with the usual stuff."
"All right Anna, hurry home." Elsa nodded.
We got into my car and drove off. "What's the usual stuff?" I asked Elsa.
"What?" Elsa asked.
"When Anna said she's stuck with the usual stuff." I explained.
"You shouldn't poke into girls business." Elsa huffed.
"Was that too much into your privacy?" I chuckled.
"Shut up." Elsa turned her head to the window.
Wow Elsa, what the hell?! Since when did you become so... Cold? What's happened to you? I decided to do as she said, shut up. I don't want to make this worse. Come on Jack, think! It's definitely something you've done that made Elsa like this. Think of a solution!
I stepped on it, quickly sending Elsa home. I need to think this through. "See you tomorrow." I smiled as Elsa went down.
"Bye Jack." Elsa said.
*Time skip*
I lied on my bed, frustrated. Girls are too complicated!
"Bad day?" Emma, my little sister came in.
"Horrible." I replied.
"What is it this time? More girls asking you to come to their house?" She came to me.
"Always, but that isn't the problem." I sighed.
"Argument with your friends?"
"No, it's-"
"Someone beat you up?"
"Will you please stop guessing and let me tell you?!"
"All right, fine! Sheesh, no need to shout. Carry on."
"Well, it goes like this...."
