Chapter 22

Evan's POV

I feel awful punching Jack back there. Stupid Evan, didn't you say you wanted to apologize to Jack?! And yet, you punched him instead! Stupid, stupid me! But I really couldn't help it, since he treated that way to Elsa. Even if that girl wasn't Elsa, if it was any other girl, a girl that I didn't know, I would still do that to Jack.

Anyway, knowing that Jack actually loved Elsa surprised me. That explains on why he was so mad at me. I know my presence here in Jack's eyes is as a third party. I didn't mean to get in between them. Nor did I have any intention to love Elsa. She's my friend and always will be my friend. I don't think we will get any further than that.

Detention, that's my last chance to say sorry to Jack before things get worse. The problem is, will he accept my apology? The way I see it, no, not after I punched and yelled at him today. But I have to try.

As for Elsa, oh the horror she's going through. The girls in this schools are seriously nuts! And I thought my previous school was horrible, this is just worse. She already has a small cut on her wrist. What sharp stuff do these girls bring?! I feel really sorry for her.

One class left before detention. I'm currently sitting with Anna.

"You are in so much trouble man." Anna sighed.

"But what can I do to fix it? I didn't want this to happen." I whispered, trying not attract the teacher's attention.

"I know that, I know that." Anna rolled her eyes. "But because of you, I don't think Jack will ever love Elsa again! Do you even know how much he loved Elsa?!"

"But what's the point? Elsa didn't like him back!" I protested. "I want them to be friends again."

"How? Wave your magic wand and it will happen?"  Anna asked sarcastically.

"Do I look like I know anything about magic?" I asked back.

"I know for one thing, just saying all this won't change anything, you gotta take actions, Evan!" Anna replied.

"Quiet down!" I said. "I'm well aware I need to take actions. I wanted to apologize today but instead I punched Jack. But you can't blame me for doing that!"

"And why not?!"

"Ok so Jack might be a bad boy in this school, I don't know? But still, none of this should happen."

"Too gentleman like, Evan. You've never changed. I remember that day when you protected Elsa from those bullies. That scar is still on you."

"She was pushed around! She needed help, I can't stand there doing nothing. Sure I got pretty badly hurt, but it's worth it. No girl, or boy for the matter, should be treated that way."

"Hey,sometimes, violence does solve something. Good times... I remember I punched Hans. He was so mean to be back then, that punch was worth it too. Haven't heard from him since, hope he's gone forever. Otherwise, he's got another date with my fist."

"I know you pack a powerful punch, Anna." I smiled.

"That's why no boy messes with me." Anna said.

Throughout our conversation I'm surprised that the teacher didn't catch us talking. We couldn't have been that quiet, could we? Anyway, let's just finish this so that detention can come and school will end.

Approximately 15 minutes later, the bell rang. A lot of excited students dashed to the door, going home, yelling "freedom!" at the same time.

I nervously stood up, heading towards the door. I'm worried that Jack might punch me back in detention. I'm worried that he won't accept my apology. I'm worried that another fight will occur between Jack and Elsa.

"Wish... Me luck?" I turned to Anna.

"You wouldn't need luck for this situation. All you need is you." Anna smiled.

"But, what if, I'm worried!" I exclaimed.

"You worry too much, Evan." Anna rolled her eyes and went away.

Oh come on! I wanted to shout so badly at Anna. Can I not worry?! This is pretty serious, you know?! I am lost right now, with no clue on what to do. I just realised that I don't even know where the detention room is, crap! Who to ask, who to ask?! I looked around in panic.

"Hey Evan!" I turned around, it was Connor. "Not going home yet?"

"I have detention." I replied. "Say, do you know where to go?"

"Detention?! Oh dear, what have you done? And yes, I know where the room is, follow me." Connor beckoned.

"Thanks." I smiled, walking beside him.

"News rose that you, Elsa and Jackson got caught in like... A love triangle?" Connor asked.

"WHAT?!" I exclaimed. "A love what?! You got it all wrong, Connor! Elsa and I have nothing going on!"

"Well, the whole school believes so." Connor shrugged.

"Oh gosh..." I gulped. "Look, I don't know who can believe us right now. Jack likes Elsa, Elsa doesn't like him back, but that also doesn't mean that Elsa likes me! Cause I don't, we're just friends."

"Don't you know that you can't understand girls?" Connor crossed his arms.

"But I know Elsa very, very well. She has been my friend for years!" I argued.

"Yeah sure." Connor said. "Anyway, here's the room."

"Oh. Thanks." I sighed.

"Well, good luck, I'm going home." Connor turned away.

I nodded and pushed the door open. Eugene and Hiccup are already there, but not Jack or Elsa.

"H-Hey." I stammered.

"What's up? Take a seat dude." Eugene invited.

"Where's J-Jack?" I asked.

"Probably taking his time. He's always like that, he's never on time for detention. None of us want to be on time anyway." Eugene replied.

"Look guys, I'm so sorry for all this." I said. "Now I wish I never moved here in the first place."

"How could you say that?! It's always good to reunite with an old friend." Hiccup exclaimed. "I know you feel bad because of the Jack situation, but it's not your fault. Jack got too jealous, that's all."

"But how do I make it up to him?" I asked.

"Don't do anything." Both Eugene and Hiccup said at the same time.

"What?!" I asked, surprised. "What do you mean, don't do anything?! Not even apologise?"

"That's the way with Jack." Eugene nodded.

Confused, I just sat down and kept quiet. Here goes nothing.
