Chapter 68: High school

Jack's POV

So, that was pretty much it. Our lives were all normal, nothing much happened after that. I was still dumbfounded with Pitch's death. I couldn't believe that my enemy will finally trouble me no more. Life just wasn't the same without him, I don't know how I should describe it.  Oddly, I thought about him everyday. Can't believe I'm saying this but... I miss Pitch. We never heard back from Sandman, guess he's never returning like he said.

Our kids, Eliza and Elijah will be starting their first day of high school. They were both very excited and couldn't wait. While we were eating breakfast, the doorbell rang. Since I've finished, I went out to see who it was, Anna and Kristoff.

"Are you guys ready? These three can barely wait." Anna asked, pointing to Kristine, Sabrina and Shade.

"Make that two more!" A new voice came, revealing it to be Punzie. Eugene, Merida and Hiccup came along with Harold and Jessica. Jenna and Henry followed behind.

"I. Can't. Wait!" Jessica squealed.

"Tell all the details when you come back, ok?" Kristen asked Kristine.

"Or course I would!" Kristine laughed.

"I don't know... Is high school really that fun?" Sabrina asked.

"You won't know until you try." Shade grinned.

Elsa came out with Eliza and Elijah. "My, everyone's here already!" Elsa exclaimed.

"You're early." Eliza looked at her watch.

"We're late to be early." Harold giggled.

"O...K, Jenna, Henry and Kristen, you better get going to school now!" Eugene said.

"We'll be needing to go to your older siblings high school now." Merida added.

"Right, let's go!" Henry marched off along with Jenna and Kristen. We waved goodbye at them.

"Can we go now?" Kristine asked.

"You're THAT excited, huh?" Harold asked.

I just smiled at Elsa and everyone got in to their cars. In about 15 minutes, we arrived at the school, Matrix High School.

Elijah's POV

"It's a mansion!" I exclaimed the minute I got out of the car.

"It's a school." Shade corrected me.

"Wow! WOW! WOW!!!!" Jessica looked around.

While our parents went to settle some stuff, which I don't know what, something to do with our first day I guess. We explored everywhere. This school was amazing! I just hope it will be as amazing as I think.

"Think we'll enjoy this school?" Sabrina stated.

"I'm sure we'll make the best of it." Harold smiled.

After a few minutes, our parents came back. "We got your schedules." Mom said, handing us some papers.

"So... We start class now?" Shade asked.

"Nope, we gotta go to your school's main hall first." Aunty Merida replied.

"Do we have to go too?" Eliza asked.

"Not exactly, you kids can go exploring while we get more details." Dad answered.

We nodded as our parents went to the main hall. Kristine suggested that we go see the classes. And so we did, but they weren't much of a difference. The classrooms looked the same the same to me.

"Let me guess, it's gonna be same, boring, just like elementary school, right?" Sabrina asked.

"You'll find out in less than half an hour." Eliza laughed.

"Elementary school wasn't boring at all!" Harold argued.

"For a bookworm like you!" I pointed.

"You really need to see the joy in learning." Harold crossed his arms.

"Nope!" I said and laughed.

Kristine fell silent, then only I realised she was looking at her schedule. "So, what's your first class?"  She asked, still looking.

Everyone looked at their schedules. "English." All of us said at almost the same time.

"No way!" Shade exclaimed.

"Guess this school is lazy at making schedules." Sabrina burst out laughing.

"A library, let's go check it out?" Jessica pointed to a sign. "Turn left or something."

"Library? I'm out." I stepped back.

"You won't know what you're missing." Eliza grinned.

"I'm sure Harold would be a very good librarian." Kristine chuckled.

"Apply for that job." Shade added.

"I'll think about it." Harold said.

"Fine, I know what we should do, let's go find out where the English class is. Otherwise we would be lost in this school." I sighed.

"Do you see any signboards saying English here?!" Sabrina asked sarcastically.

"Oh why yes, like the school would be so kind to build the many signboards." Jessica replied sarcastically as well.

We spotted a small group of students headed our way. Eliza quickly walked forward to them. "Excuse me, but do you know where the English class is?"

"We're looking for that class too!" A girl replied. "Shall we look together?"

"Sure thing. I'm Eliza. This is Elijah, Jessica, Kristine, Sabrina, Shade and Harold." Eliza pointed at each one of us.

"Pleased to meet you all. I'm Sally. This is Michelle, Alex and Jeffrey." She introduced.

After knowing each other, we set off to look. Fortunately, we bumped into a teacher. He told us where we had to go and we rushed to the class. "It's still early." Jessica said.

"All right, everyone remember how to get here cause we gotta go back to the main hall." Harold commanded.

"What are our locker numbers?" I wondered out loud.

"Beats me." Kristine shrugged.

After our parents were all done in getting details about this school, classes start right  about now. They told us every basic stuff and we listened carefully. After understanding, we were on our own. They went home and it was just us.

All of us walked to the English class. I saw that Sally, Michelle, Alex and Jeffrey walked in. We stood by the door, looking at each other.

"Shall we?" I asked and pushed the door open.

And so we began our high school life.
