Chapter 66: Gone forever

Jack's POV

"BANG!"

That shot gave me a heart attack. I saw, I saw it all. All eight of them were aimed, but thank goodness Elijah realized. The bad news was he couldn't stop it all in time. Eugene fell down in shock after hearing the shot from the gun. I think I too could have died after hearing that shot. I screamed, shouted, pounded on the barrier, bursting into tears.

Do you know who was the last gun aimed at? It hurts to even say the name....

Elsa.

"ELSA!!!!!!!!!!" I yelled my heart out, hammering on the barrier.

At that moment, I shut my eyes, not wanting to see the painful moment. I went down on my knees, screaming and crying. "NO NO NO NO!" I shouted, still with my eyes shut. I don't exactly know when I would like to open them again. I buried my face in my hands, leaning against the barrier. Elsa! No! Why?! Oh why?! My wife, my wife got shot! No thanks to some dumb idiotic police officers! The more I thought of it, the more I cried.

Suddenly, I fell down. I slowly lifted up my head, the barrier surrounding us was gone, just like that! "Huh?" I blurted out. "Fresh air!" Eugene yelled. Sandman got up and brushed himself.

Still in horrible pain, I buried myself again. A pair of hands touched on my shoulders. "Jack?"

Wait, I recognise that sweet voice anywhere... I looked up, Elsa! "Elsa!" I exclaimed, pulling her into a hug. "H-How in the world did you... I saw the gun aimed at you! Oh gosh, I thought I would've lost you!"

Elsa ruffled my hair and smiled. "I'll explain it, but we have another problem."

I quickly stood up and wiped my tears. I scanned everywhere, Pitch had collapsed on the floor. "You see... Instead of me, Pitch got shot." Elsa said.

WHAT?! Pitch? Pitch Black got shot?! I yelled in my mind. Punzie, Merida and Hiccup were free from the barrier as well and they joined us. Oh my gosh, HE was shot?! I don't know what to feel right now.

"HOW COULD YOU DO THAT?!" Sabrina shouted at the officers.

"Yeah, you said only to be brought back to the station, since when did shooting come in?!" Eliza added.

Shade came around, walking wobbly. "Shade, you ok?!" Elijah asked, helping him.

"What happened?" He asked. "Urgh, my head... Other me was really torturing me inside."

"Um..." Kristine said. "Him." She pointed to Pitch.

"What?" Shade asked.

"Pitch got shot by the officers." Eliza continued.

"Oh ok. Wait, WHAT?!" Shade exclaimed.

All of us gathered around Pitch. I couldn't believe on what I was looking at. Really? Pitch Black? He was shot by the police? All this is... I just can't believe it! I don't know whether I should be happy or sad at the moment.

Sandy knelt down, observing Pitch. "The heart..." He muttered.

"No... The bullet hit him in the heart?" Sabrina asked.

Double WHAT?! I yelled in my mind. Oh gosh, this is too much for me! Does that mean that he's going to... Die? Think straight Jack! Of course a bullet in the heart would cause death.

"Pitch..." Sandy said.

"I'll see you in hell." Pitch looked at me.

Merida looked at him weirdly. "You're dying and you're saying this?" I heard her whisper.

Pitch tried to raise his hand but then it fell back down on the floor. He gave me his evil smirk again then closed his eyes. A dark black aura appeared. His body was quickly surrounded by nightmare sand, lifting him up.

"He's.... Gone?" Eugene asked.

"Forever?" Hiccup added.

"Wait, wait, wait, wait, what the heck?!" Anna asked.

Punzie felt for her hair. "Why didn't I do what I could do again?!" She asked.

My mind was spinning right now. All that was too fast. Pitch is dead? Just like that? A bullet in the heart killed him? My arch enemy is gone?

"Perhaps... Now for an explanation?" I asked. "I'm still confused, either I'm seeing wrong, or the gun was really aimed at Elsa."

"It was aimed at mom!" Elijah replied. "Boy, and I thought that she really would have died... Oh those horrible seconds!"

"I'll tell it." Anna said. "I heard Elijah's whisper just now. When I turned around, I saw the trigger pulled, yeah, it was aimed at Elsa. All I could think of was to direct the bullet elsewhere with my powers. It was really risky to take control of a bullet, I wasn't even sure that I could do it in time-"

"You turned it at Pitch?!" I cut in.

"Anna did a really nice 90 degree turn with that bullet though." Hiccup muttered.

"I didn't mean to!" Anna replied. "I just turned the bullet's direction but then I lost control of it! Do you even know how small a bullet is and how fast it travels?! It was out of sight already and it's dark here! And I'm sorry! I didn't have any intention to kill Pitch with the bullet, it was an accident! I know there is no way you are going to believe that I accidentally killed someone!"

I gulped, not knowing what to say. Instead of Elsa being killed, it was Pitch... I honestly have no idea what I have to feel.

Elsa's POV

I don't even know what now. I just stood there, starring at the ceiling. Pitch floated higher and higher then he was gone. To be honest, I'm not sure if we should have saved Pitch or not. The first thing I wanted to say was, "Punzie, your hair!" but then this was Pitch! I don't know what we should have done with him. To let him die or to let him live.

Well if we were to let him live, he would either continue to have revenge on Jack, or he might change if we healed him. But then, Pitch would never change. If we just let him die like that, the scene would be....

Then again, I realised that I could have been the one dying. My legs are like jelly now.

The silence was broke by Sandman. "I... Failed..."

"Failed?" Elijah questioned.

"I failed in changing him." Sandman replied.

"You can't change who he is." "He'll never change." Sabrina and Shade said at the same time.

"Just... How could you open fire?!" Harold turned to the officers.

"Actually, they had guns aimed at all of us." Elijah corrected him.

"What?" Eliza asked, surprised.

"He's right. Elijah was the only one that saw the police aiming their guns at every single one of you. He froze all the guns, all except one because he ran out of time. The gun was aimed at- Well, you know the rest with Anna's explanation." Jack explained.

Kristen went straight up to Elijah and hugged him. Elijah was taken by surprise. "Thanks for saving our lives."

"Great, now I guess we'll be kicked out of school." Kristine muttered.

"There's more to that if you ask me." Shade said. "I think we would totally be banned from every school with these powers."

Elijah turned around, walking to the officers. "Tell me, which one of you pulled the trigger?!"

"Settle down there kid." One of them said.

"I ain't gonna settle down until you tell me." Elijah crossed his arms. "You could have killed my mother, you.... You... You stone-hearted beasts! Even though you didn't, you still killed a person!"

The only officer still with his gun walked forward. Elijah straight away froze him like a statue. Jack and I looked at each other, startled. We knew he was playful but I didn't expect that. Assaulting a police officer is one serious crime.

"Nice job!" Harold chuckled.

"You are so doomed..." Eliza said.

Jack cleared his throat loudly. "So, how are we going to continue our lives?"

"Lives?" Punzie blurted out.

"What are you even thinking of Jack, we will never live the same life ever again!" Merida stated.

"Do you think we would even be able to continue our life?" Hiccup asked.

"With these powers?" Anna added.

"Everyone would fear us." Kristoff said.

"They'd think we would kill them." Eugene whispered.

"And they would want to kill us before we do anything." I finally spoke.

"Like terrorists?" Eliza blurted out.

"No way, we ain't terrorists!" Henry shouted.

"Powers don't mean terror?!" Kristine asked.

"Just because we were involved and a person died, doesn't mean we are terrorists!" Jessica yelled.

"Oh quiet already! No one will ever want to talk to us ever again. Look, just look! No one will ever accept us." Elijah snapped.

"Amnesia would be really great right now..." Sabrina muttered.

Sandman tapped on her shoulder. "Say again?" He asked.

"Amnesia would be really great right now?" Sabrina repeated.

"Amnesia... Of course! Why didn't I think of that?!" Sandman snapped his fingers.

"What?" Eugene asked.

"I can make everyone here forget that this incident ever happened! All of your lives would have never changed that way!" Sandman replied.

"No way buddy, I don't want to forget every single detail of tonight! I had amnesia twice already, and I don't want to have it for a third time!" Jack protested.

"Um... The spell of forgetting has no effect on people who have magic. So technically, it won't work on you, you won't forget." Sandman explained.

"Wait, what about us that don't have powers?" Kristoff asked.

"Yeah, would we forget?" Merida asked.

"Are you SURE everyone would forget if you do this?" Hiccup asked.

Sandman smiled and nodded. "Sure, I can make sure the spell won't have effect on you guys too."

"Fine, cast it then!" Anna said firmly.

"What do we have to do?" Punzie asked.

"Just... Watch me." Sandman grinned.
