Chapter 60: Outtatime
Eliza's POV
Shade and Sabrina told us the story of what happened. I really feel sorry for them, they don't deserve to have someone like Pitch to be in their lives. Shade went all snap at Pitch, which was hilarious, based on what they told us.
"This is gold." Harold laughed.
"Wow, if we did that, we would get grounded, big time." Jessica said awkwardly.
"No kidding! But this is Pitch." I crossed my arms.
"Well, have you thought of it?" Kristine gave Sabrina a nudge.
"Huh? Oh, uh, well, no, to be honest." Sabrina replied. "I guess we were a bit too happy with Shade finally telling and pissing him off."
"I'm the man here." Shade announced proudly and we all laughed.
"The man, huh?" Elijah smirked.
"Better than you for sure, you can't get simple lines right." Shade scoffed.
Uh oh, here we go again. Before any fights started, Harold and Henry grabbed Elijah's arms while Sabrina simply squeezed Shade's arm, causing Shade to yelp.
"Wow, nice squeeze." Jessica laughed.
"Let's go!" I quickly walked to school.
Elijah, Kristine, Sabrina and I entered the class. "Free time on script?" Kristine suggested.
"Nope! Nope nope nope!" Elijah immediately replied.
"Sure, why not?" I said.
"Not with this guy around." Sabrina pointed to Elijah.
"Oh come on, we're running out of time! The school concert is coming very, very soon!" Kristine argued. "And you, must NOT mess up when it's real."
"I'm trying to?" Elijah sighed.
"Really? Cause all I see is nothing!" Zack approached us. I quickly restrained Kristine from punching him again, I gave her a stern warning look and shook my head.
"Oh yeah right, all you can see is negativity, isn't it?!" Elijah challenged. "What about you? You have made some mistakes too!"
"Not as many as you." Zack snapped.
I felt a heavy weight on my shoulders. I turned around and saw it was Katy. "Hey, Cadence!" She joked.
"Gosh, stop calling me that!" I chuckled. "I'm Eliza, not Cadence! Well, I AM Cadence in the play, but not in real life!"
"How about Aria?" Kristine playfully pushed me. "Princess of Avonlea who possesses the power of-"
"Kristine, you have said that plenty of times already, please, I've heard enough!" I cut in.
"Well then, I'll talk about Sabrina then." Kristine laughed.
"Me?" Sabrina asked. "I've got nothing. Nothing special about my role, other than that."
"It suits you." I gave her a nudge.
Sabrina gave me a sneaky grin and I just smiled back. Kristine fell silent, then I realised she was memorising her stuff. Katy finally went away, I find her a little annoying sometimes to be honest. Then in the play and all, we have to be like that. It is hard to explain on what we do.
"Get your head out already!" Zack pushed Elijah.
"So you can get my brain?" Elijah challenged.
"Hey, we only have a couple more days here." Zack stated. "We had plenty of time for rehearsals but for you, it just wasn't enough."
"Yeah, we had months." Sabrina added.
"Or unless if you haven't realised on how fast time flies." I laughed. "We didn't have months, we had eternity!"
"No it wasn't!" Elijah shouted. "We only had days to memorise all this! They told us about the play way too late."
"It's days to you, but not to us. In reality, we had plenty of time, plenty of days, weeks, to be exact, we had a-"
"IT. WAS. DAYS." Elijah cut in.
"Whatever, school concert is by the end of this month and you better get ready." Zack patted Elijah's back and walked away.
"How long is that again?" Elijah asked.
"By the end of this month." Kristine replied. "Which is around... 2 weeks."
"14 days?! No, no, no, no!" Elijah moaned. "I'll never make it!"
"Well if you just hadn't dilly dallied on all of the rehearsals, you would have memorised around 95% of your script!" I shouted. "We specially made our own rehearsals at home but you still didn't remember a single thing!"
"Well then... I'm doomed." Elijah sighed.
"Yer darn right!" Sabrina scoffed.
"Time machine anyone?" Kristine laughed.
"If those things existed, that would be great." Elijah chuckled.
"Money can't buy back time." I argued.
"He's outtatime." Sabrina said. "Totally out of time."
"There's still a chance, if he can get everything in proper order, he might make it in two weeks." Kristine suggested.
"Might? Wow, what words of encouragement." Elijah crossed his arms.
"Don't worry, you don't even deserve words of encouragement!" I snapped.
"What has he accomplished?" Kristine asked.
"Elijah's got the dancing part covered but not the play." Sabrina replied.
"True, he managed to remember all the dance stuff already thanks to Jessica. Not the script though." I sighed.
"Fine! I'll start reading now. Say, wonder what's taking the teacher so long." Elijah fished out his script and read.
Kristine gave me a thumbs up sign, pointing to Elijah. I sighed and read my script along with Sabrina. There was one scene that I always couldn't get it quite right. I just wanted everything to be perfect! Like what Sabrina said, we're running out of time, I have to get everything done quick. Counting down for two weeks, it could go away like two days if you're not careful.
