Chapter 47: He's backing down

Shade's POV

"Well that certainly wasn't expected." Sabrina whispered to me.

"You said it." I whispered back. "I'm just glad he's gone for now."

Both of us were still behind the couch. I took a peep and saw that Jack Frost has left and Pitch is in a total out rage right now. He was yelling and shouting in frustration.

"Let's just wait until father cools down, approaching him right now and who knows what will happen." Sabrina suggested. I nodded in agreement.

In the meantime, other me was just like Pitch. Screaming, yelling at me, and it was horribly annoying.

You fool! You better watch yourself, Shade Black! I swear that I could kill you when I take control later! A person like you shouldn't even be allowed to live!

Me? You're not even a human being. Who made you the judge of my life? I said to him.

Just you wait.

I think I have waited long enough. You're a failure, a good one too.

Oh just SHUT UP!

Why don't you shut up?!

Before the fight got any worse, Sabrina gave me a nudge. I snapped out of my concentration and looked at her. "What?" I asked.

"Judging from how you looked, I thought you were going to start fighting with yourself. So... That's what I did." Sabrina replied.

"Wow, now you can even see when I'm about to start fighting?" I chuckled.

"Guess so?" Sabrina smiled.

"Don't worry, he's backing down." I assured her. "He's too scared to stand up to me now."

A loud slam on the door startled both of us. I slowly stood up and looked around. Pitch probably went to complain in his room. Good, some peace for us. I gave Sabrina a thumbs-up sign and she stood up too.

"Coast clear, thank goodness." Sabrina sighed.

I shrugged at her and went to get a packet of instant noodles. "What's that for?" Sabrina asked behind me.

"Um, it's called dinner." I looked at her. "In case you haven't noticed, but we haven't ate anything yet for dinner. And besides with that guy," I pointed to Pitch's room. "A bad mood will stay a bad mood."

"I'm not hungry, go ahead." Sabrina stuffed her hands into her pockets.

*Time skip*

"Get up already!" I heard a loud voice and my body was shaken violently.

"What?!" I sat up sheepishly.

"And I thought you were always early for school." Sabrina hissed.

"And since when did you even bother waking me up?" I smirked.

"Recently." Sabrina crossed her arms.

Sabrina went out and I fixed myself. I grabbed my bag and went out. Sabrina was waiting at the front door, holding a slice of bread. "Here, eat it on the way." She handed the bread to me.

I took it and noticed the house was really messed up. The tables looked like someone kicked them. "Last night didn't go out too well for father." Sabrina explained. "So I suggest we should avoid him for now."

"Meh, I have always wanted to avoid him." I munched on the bread.

Sabrina and I walked off. I could hear other me arguing again. Urgh, he's so annoying! Isn't there a mute button for him?!

Hey, keep it down, will you?! I snapped.

Step down, you! I'm taking control! He backfired.

Yeah right, like that's gonna happen. Yesterday, I had full control! 24 hours, you hear me?! 24 HOURS! It's a new record!

Great, first it was 24 seconds, then 24 minutes, then 1 or 2 hours, now 24?! You're going overboard!

To overthrow you, duh!

Oh whatever! Forget it, I'll come for you later Shade.

That's right, back down! Back away from me!

I silently did a cheer in my mind. We met up with Eliza and Elijah on the way. "Hey you two!" Elijah greeted.

"Hey." I smiled. "Oh by the way, what on earth happened yesterday?!"

"You are not gonna believe it. It was too hilarious!" Eliza chuckled. "Like, the best tale I ever heard!"

"Go on." I said.

So Eliza and Elijah explained everything detailed. She's right, it was F-U-N-N-Y! Sabrina and I burst out laughing.

"Yeah, can you even believe it?!" Elijah patted my back and laughed. "And so that's how my dad got freaking scolding from mom."

"Why didn't your father try to call your mother first?!" Sabrina asked, still laughing. "Then it will save so much trouble!"

"That was exactly what we were thinking, why didn't he call?!" Eliza exclaimed.

"Because that's how our father goes crazy." Elijah said. "Like a boss! Epic fail!"

I think we all laughed until our sides hurt. Elijah looked at his watch and quickly told us to get going. We quicken our paces.

"So, Shade, how's your spell?" Eliza asked.

"Oh it's good. It's not that troublesome any more." I replied.

"Because everyone fears Shade Black." Elijah joked. I giggled at him and crossed my arms.

"And... We got 2 minutes." Sabrina looked at Elijah's watch.

"Last one there is a rotten egg!" Eliza shouted and began running.

"Hey!" All three of us said at the same time. We just looked at each other and ran to school.
