Chapter 3: Best buddies
Jessica's POV
"Come on already Jen!" I called out to my little sister. Jenna came running to me, grinning. "I just came out a little late?" She asked.
"Well you're late all right! Eliza, Elijah, Harold, Henry, Kristine and Kristen are already waiting." I replied. Both of us walked to the rest and began walking home. School wasn't far from home. Only about a five minute walk.
"Can you even believe the mathematics homework that Mrs Margaret gave?!" Elijah complained.
"I don't see what's so hard about it." Harold stated.
"I second that." Eliza agreed.
"It. Was. Hard." Elijah grumbled.
"You're ridiculous Eli." I rolled my eyes. "Can't you be like your sister?"
"I am like my sister, we're twins!" Elijah replied.
"Not by how you look," Harold pushed him lightly. "I mean your character, your attitude, whatever!"
"You are the total opposite of your sister despite bring twins." Kristine crossed her arms.
"Oh look we're home, bye guys." Elijah hurriedly cut in and started running.
"See you guys tomorrow? Or just drop by later, we all live close by anyway." Eliza stated.
"Sure thing, bye Eliza!" I waved at her.
We said our goodbyes and me and Jen walked into the house. "Mummy, daddy! We're home!" Jenna greeted. Dad came and carried Jen up. "How's school kids?" He asked.
"Good." I smiled.
"Eugene!" Mom's voice echoed. "Please give me a hand in the kitchen."
I dumped my bag and dumped myself on the sofa. "So, what should I start with?" I asked with a moan. I looked at my homework, there was much to do.
"How about the maths that Elijah was complaining about?" Jen suggested.
"Nah, I'll do something else." I sighed. "Like... Learning how to make dresses from mom."
"That's always done after all homework has been finished." Jen protested.
"Doing dresses is much better than doing homework." I crossed my arms.
Mom and dad came out. "Kids, come and eat lunch!" Mom called out.
*Time skip*
"Should we go and find the rest to play?" Jen suggested after finishing her homework.
"I ain't even done yet!" I grumbled. "How is it that you can finish your homework so fast every time?!"
"I don't know!" Jenna said cheekily. "Too bad, so sad, big sis!"
"Do this for me then." I threw my book in front of her.
"Duh, how do you even expect me to know how to do this?! I don't learn the same stuff as you! You're older than me." Jen crossed her arms.
"You do seem to be smarter at some times." I sighed. "Come on, that's my last homework already!"
Jen gave me back my book. "I'll be giving you moral support from here, go, go, go!" Jen cheered.
I frowned and continued with my homework. Grammar homework was too annoying for me. Jenna was just sitting there, looking at me, with a sly grin. Soon, she began to play with my hair, attaching hers and mine together. After a while, she made a braid with both our long golden hair.
I slammed my pencil down, pleased with finishing everything. "Jen!" I looked at both our hair and untangled it. "Since you took so long, I got bored!" Jenna let out a moan. "So, NOW can we go play?!"
"Park? Or home?" I asked.
"See what the rest say." Jenna replied as she did our hair and ran out.
"Wait!" I called out but she shot off like a bullet. I did my hair into a ponytail but it still nearly reached the floor. I walked out of the study room and saw mom and dad. "Did Jenny go out already, mummy?" I asked.
"As always, she runs out every time after finishing her homework." Mom stroked my hair and smiled.
"Go on, go play with your friends." Dad beckoned to the door. "Come back before dark and be safe."
I smiled at them and walked out. Jen was already outside, just about to turn into the corner leading to Kristina and Kristen's house. "Wait up Jen!" I said loudly and ran to her. "Look, I know you wanna play, so do I, but don't just go off like that!"
"Ok, ok, ok." Jenna crossed her arms. We turned into the corner and spotted 2 figures. It was Kristine and Kristen. "Hey!" Kristen called out.
We walked towards each other and waved. "So, you had the same idea too?" Kristine asked.
"Yep," I gave her a high five. "Shall we get the others?"
"Let's go get the two boys." Kristine stated. "Then the twins."
"Next corner, let's go!" Kristen took a step forward. We walked along and soon reached the boys' house. "Henry! Harold!" Kristen called out.
"Ahem, doorbell." Kristine beckoned to the doorbell and pressed it. Henry and Harold came running out.
"We were just about to go out and find you guys." Harold chuckled. "Where's Eliza and Elijah?"
"Well obviously, we haven't went to their house yet!" I snapped.
"Let's go." Kristine turned away. While we walked, I don't know who, Kristen or Kristine was using their powers on everything. Soon I found Jen floating in mid air. "Thanks!" Jen giggled.
"Enjoy the flight!" Kristine giggled as well. "There's no one here, right?" She looked around.
"How can you NOT check if there's anyone here before using your powers?!" I shouted. "That's the number one rule!"
"Well, there's no one here." Kristen said. "So, can I lift someone up? I would just bring one of you to Elijah and Eliza's house and done! We don't have to walk."
Kristine gave a light slap on Kristen's back. "How many times have we been told, not to be lazy just because we have telekinesis!"
"Says the girl who's using her powers at the moment." Kristen crossed his arms.
"I mean we can't use our powers for any type of work, especially homework!" Kristine rolled her eyes.
"Oh look, we're here." Harold said loudly. "Now please keep it down."
The six of us stood in front and Harold pressed on the doorbell. Elijah and Eliza came skating to us. "Check it out! We froze the garden and had some ice skating." Eliza said in an excited tone.
"Come on in!" Elijah opened the gate. "Wanna skate?"
"You betcha!" I replied.
All of us went in but Kristen already slipped on his first step. "Here's your ice skates." Elijah and Eliza said at the same time and gestured their hands. A pair of ice skates was formed, replacing our shoes.
