Kristine's POV

So Sunday was all ok other than with all about Pitch. We went back to school as usual. Elijah and Eliza complained about how much their father complained about Pitch.

"Enough already." Harold clapped his hands on his ears.

"Well all of us have been wondering in what happened to Pitch." Kristen crossed my arms.

"I wanted to know so badly." Henry sighed. "But we were not allowed to go out."

"Same here." Jenna said.

"Don't worry, we have Shade to ask!" I cheered. "I'm sure he would know."

"Oh right, Shade." Eliza made a silly smile. We soon arrived at school.

Me and Eliza walked to our first class, science. Unfortunately there were only two seats left, and that was beside Sabrina. Eliza volunteered to sit beside her since me and Sabrina didn't go off too well. I softly thanked her.

"What are you doing here?" Sabrina asked rudely.

"Um... Sitting down?" Eliza replied. "Well as you can see, these are the only seats left. Hope you don't mind us sitting here."

"I mind all right. I mind a lot. What you did, storming in just like that?!" Sabrina snapped.

"Sorry." Eliza said politely.

"Apology not excepted." Sabrina crossed her arms. "Never mind, I shouldn't waste my time on you. I have a bigger problem to worry about."

Eliza turned back to me and shrugged. I heard Sabrina's soft voice. "Oh Shade... How will I get you back?" Wait, what?! Did something happen to Shade?

"Did you hear that?" I whispered to Eliza.

"Hear what?" She asked.

"What Sabrina said." I replied.

"Nothing?" Eliza asked.

"Maybe I'm just hearing things." I sighed.

*Time skip*

"Boy I'm starving!" Harold gobbled down his food. Henry giggled at him.

"Shade!" I called out as he walked towards us. Shade just walked past me without saying a word. "Shade?" I asked.

Elijah chewed on a chicken and accidentally bumped into Shade. "Hey Shade! Sorry, didn't see you there." He said. Shade kept quiet and walked away.

"What's gotten into him?" Harold asked.

"I don't know! It's not like him to be this way." Jessica exclaimed.

I walked to Shade and stopped him. "Shade? What's wrong?" I asked with a worried face. Shade was totally silent. Something's horribly wrong. I examined him closer and realised something different about Shade. His eyes, it was red! Blood red. Wasn't it supposed to be gold colour? "Shade, is that you?" I asked in doubt. I brought him back to the rest.

"Hey Shade!" Eliza waved. Again, he didn't respond.

"Guys! Something's wrong with Shade, look! Look at his eyes!" I pointed to his eyes.

"What is it?!" Harold jumped out of his seat.

"It's.... Red?" Jessica asked.

"What is wrong with his eyes?!" Elijah exclaimed.

"I've never seen him like this!" Kristen said loudly.

"Oh my gosh!" Eliza shouted.

I shook Shade violently. What is wrong with you Shade?! You've become a totally different person. What has happened?

"So you found out." A voice came from behind us.

"Sabrina!" All of us said at the same time.

"So we found out what?" Jenna asked.

Sabrina ticked her tongue. "It's Shade. He has a major problem, those eyes..."

"Did you do this to him?!" I cut in.

"What? No! I don't know how to control people's mind and body!" Sabrina defended herself. "You calling me a liar?!"

"Tell us the problem, I want to know." Elijah said.

"I, I, Oh Shade..." A little tear trickled down Sabrina's face. I was amazed, I never seen her like this. "Well, you see, I got Shade busted after I overheard that he told you about the trap waiting for you. We were arguing pretty badly and so happen that father heard everything as well. He... Took control of Shade's mind and body, turning his eyes to red."

Shade suddenly moaned. I saw his eyes changing from red to gold, then to red, and to gold again. "Shade!" Sabrina exclaimed. "Oh good, you're back for now."

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Extra hard... To take... Control...." Shade blurted out.

"Well Shade has been able to overcome the spell on him but only for a couple of seconds, or a minute." Sabrina explained.

"Shade, Sabrina, do any of you know how to remove this spell?" Eliza asked.

"No... I'm counting... On Sabrina... To find... Out." Shade said.

"I still do not know." Sabrina sighed. "It's not like father is gonna tell me how to do it."

"How do I look like in robot mode?" Shade asked quickly.

"Horrible!" Elijah exclaimed.

"Spooky." Jessica giggled.

"Like a vampire." Harold replied.

"One word my friend, stranger." I grinned.

Shade smiled for a while and it disappeared. There goes his gold eyes, they're back to red. "Dang, there he goes." Sabrina mumbled. Shade was back to being cold and he walked away.

"Is there any way we can help to get Shade back?" Eliza asked.

"What? Sabrina does not interact with people like you. Like seriously, why did I even talk to you in the first place?!" Sabrina snapped and stormed off.

"Well, so much for being polite to her." Eliza sighed.

I paced back and forth. "We need to get Shade back." I said firmly. "We just need to find out how!"

"Shade's a complete copy of Pitch now!" Jessica said in horror. "Well, I mean robot him."

"Sabrina won't help, not that I was expecting her too actually." Harold shook his head.

I lost my appetite already. I had no intention to eat any longer. Shade, Shade, I have to get him back to normal again! And that Sabrina, if she could just be a little helpful in this situation. I know that she doesn't like any of us, but all of us want the same thing, don't we? We just want Shade to be back again.

"Damn, I just realised that we forgot to ask what happened to Pitch." Jenna spoke up.

"That isn't the important thing right now, Shade is more important!" I exclaimed.

"I never thought about how deep your friendship with Shade was." Eliza patted my back.

"Well, you were the first person to be friendly with him." Elijah added.

"It was only a couple of days and you already act like you're besties." Jessica rolled her eyes. "So much for knowing each other for years."

"What?! No, that's not what I mean!" I exclaimed.

"What did you say?!" Kristen shouted.

"STOP! This is no time for arguing!" Harold yelled.

"He's right." Jenna said. "We need to find out how to help Shade."
