Chapter 57: A trap (3)

Rapunzel's POV

Eugene and I walked into the mall. The coolness of the mall immediately relaxed me. "Shall we have lunch?" Eugene held my hand. I smiled and nodded at him. "I'm thinking of having a burger, you?" Eugene asked.

"I'm good with it." I replied. Eugene and I walked into Mcdonalds. "What do you want? Chicken or-"

"I'll just take a beef burger." I said. "What about you?"

"Same here, some fries and stuff. Coke?" Eugene asked.

"Sure." I replied.

Eugene pulled the chair for me and I sat down. "Stay here, I'll go order." I smiled at him and Eugene went to order. I wondered what Hiccup, Merida, Jack and Elsa were doing right now. Hope they're enjoying their date at the moment. I just couldn't wait to go shopping!

"Order up!" Eugene suddenly said as he held the tray. "Your order, milady." Eugene gave me my burger, coke and fries.

"Don't need to be so formal." I teased as I grabbed the tray.

"Of course I need to be formal to my girlfriend!" Eugene protested. I blushed a little as he sat down and faced me. I was just about to take a bite of my burger when Eugene handed me his. "What?" I asked.

"Munch on Punzie!" Eugene placed his burger nearer to my face. I shyly took a bite of his burger. I didn't exactly like to eat like that. I just wanted to eat my own food and Eugene eat his alone.

"Just eat yours, ok? I have my own burger." I said awkwardly.

"Oh come on..." Eugene sighed. "I know you don't really like it, but..."

"Never mind." I shrugged. "Just eat."

Eugene remained silent and munched happily on his burger. It was a little awkward at that time. "So," Eugene cut the silence. "Do we need to shop for more fabric later? You did say that you were short of something for your new dress."

"Yeah, I do need some stuff." I said as I took a sip of my drink. Eugene smiled as he pinched my cheek. "Cheer up, this is kinda like a date! Although its just going shopping and stuff."

"Well.... Yeah." I chuckled. "Did I seem to cold? I just didn't want to eat like that!"

"No, you're as sweet as ever." Eugene complimented.

We finished our food and went to a fabric shop. I looked around, finding the perfect colour and pattern. Let's see... I took two rolls and paid for them. We continued to walk around the shop lots.

*Time skip*

"My oh my, you shopped a lot this time!" Eugene exclaimed. "Like every time actually."

"At least we got some stuff for the rest as well." I smiled.

We walked to the parking lot. Something felt strange. Something's just wasn't right. I looked around. There was nothing here except cars and people. There's wasn't anything, but why does it feel so weird?

"You seem troubled, is there something wrong?" Eugene turned to me.

"I'm probably just tired." I lied. "I feel like I'm thinking strange stuff."

"Then let's go back quickly, get you some sleep." Eugene grabbed a bag from me and paced forward.

I slowly walked behind him. Everything was just so weird. Something's terribly wrong. Is my sixth sense going overboard or what? I looked everywhere, there wasn't anything. I couldn't help but think that me and Eugene were being watched. "Eugene," I spoke up. "Do you think something's not right?"

"No, why?" Eugene turned back to me. I walked closer to him and whispered, "Are you sure?"

Eugene gave me a questioning look and raised a brow. "I think that.... Well, someone's watching us."

"Really?!" Eugene shouted and turned around. I hurriedly covered his mouth. "Quiet!" I whispered.

Eugene grabbed me and we walked faster. I guess he finally understood something. I spotted someone running. He was all in black. He ran and hid behind a car. Although it might have been foolish to think so, but I think this person has been watching us the whole time.

I placed my shopping on the floor and undid my hair. Eugene looked at me weirdly. I used my long hair as a lasso and threw it around the man. I pulled my hair and it tighten the grip on him. I pulled the man towards us. He was wearing a mask, definitely has another motive. "Talk mister, why were you following us?" I asked sternly.

Loud footsteps were heard behind me. I turned around and saw another man with a mask as well. Eugene charged towards him and gave a few punches. Eugene got punched as well. I wanted to go help him, but it would immediately loosen the grip on the man in my hair right now. An idea popped into my mind. I took out my frying pan and threw it to Eugene. "Eugene, catch!" I shouted.

Eugene managed to catch my pan and used it to fight against the man. After a few smacks, he was knocked out cold. After making sure he was harmless for now, Eugene ran to me and grabbed the man tight. He was all ready to use my pan on him.

"You haven't answered her question yet." Eugene looked at him. "Why were you following us?!"

I was ready to remove the mask when suddenly the man took out a dagger. Wait, a dagger?! He gave me a cut on my hand and my hair. I looked at my hand in pain. Eugene immediately smacked his face with the frying pan. He got knocked out cold as well. Eugene ran to me. "Are you ok?!"

I turned to my hair, there was a part of it that was brown. "My hair!" I shouted, nearly bursting into tears. A small part of my hair had turned from golden colour to brown. That meant that the healing magic of that hair was gone. "Don't cry Punzie, don't cry." Eugene gave me a hug. "At least, on the bright side," Eugene gulped nervously. "He didn't cut all of your hair! Luckily it wasn't that much."

"But, my hair..." I touched the brown part. "The magic's gone, Eugene, it's gone."

"Only at that part, you still have more. That dagger could have cut all of your hair." Eugene said.

A security guard came running to us. "What is this?" He asked. Eugene explained everything that happened. I cried at the sight of my brown hair. My tears dripped from my face to my hand. One of the tears touched my cut. A small spark of gold appeared on my hand and the cut disappeared.

I stared at it in amazement. Did my tears just healed that cut? I thought only my hair could heal. Eugene walked to me. "Come on, we better go back." He said as he grabbed the shopping bags.

"Eugene?" I asked as we reached the car.

"Yeah Punzie? Look I know you're sad of your hair, so am I! But, try to find some good out if it, like you always do?" Eugene said.

"Uh, yeah ok. Anyway, don't you find what just happened... Strange?" I asked.

"That those two tried to kill us?" Eugene asked.

"Well part of it, but I think it's something else." I replied.

"I'm just glad you managed to catch one of them before the other showed up. You're really observant." Eugene smiled.

"Not too bad yourself with the pan." I smiled back.

"I have got to get me one of these!" Eugene lifted up my frying pan. "So, what do you mean by something else?"

"A trap." I said firmly. "I think it was a trap. Otherwise, why would they be following us, with masks, and even a dagger?!"

"It could have been just kidnapping." Eugene argued. "But you do make a good point."

"Its a trap. I'm sure of it." I repeated myself.
