Chapter 38: A game

Jack's POV

"Morning See Yew Soon and Maz.... Lee?" I looked around, Mazlee was no where in sight.

"Morning Jack, Mazlee ain't here. I can't find him. Who knows where he went. He was no where to be found ever since I woke up." SYS replied.

"Where is he? Did you call him or something?" I asked.

"I did, but his phone seems to be switched off." SYS said.

"Well hopefully he'll be back soon." With that, I went to the shower. A knock was heard after I got dressed. "Mazlee?" I said as I opened the door. "Oh it's you, Hiccup. What brings you here?"

"Have you seen Eugene? He's not in the room ever since I woke up." Hiccup asked.

"Nope. Mazlee is gone too." SYS replied. "I think they went out early for something."

"Come in." I invited. We sat down as we wondered where Eugene and Mazlee were. "So, let's go hang out somewhere?" I suggested.

"Let's go play football!" SYS said happily.

"Football? American football?! Nah." I shrugged.

"American football?! You mean those with helmets and stuff?! No, I meant football! Normal football!" SYS looked at me with a weird face.

"I think you mean soccer." Hiccup said.

"Soccer? What's that?" SYS asked.

"Soccer as in, just normal ball and stuff!" Hiccup explained.

"You guys call it soccer?" SYS asked.

"Yes." Me and Hiccup said in unison.

"We call it football back in Malaysia." SYS stated.

"Soccer, football, whatever! I still don't want to play that." I said loudly.

"Do you have a better suggestion?" Hiccup looked at me sternly.

"Let's play video games?" I chuckled.

"I second that!" SYS raised his hand.

"Then you two go play, I'm going back to my dorm." Hiccup stood up.

"Oh come on, the arcade isn't that far away." I protested.

Hiccup looked at us and shook his head. "I don't want to."

"Then let's think of something all three of us want to do." I sighed.

There was a moment of silence as me, SYS and Hiccup thought of what to do. I thought of all sorts of stuff, but there aren't much things that Hiccup likes. I shot SYS the 'what' face. "How about, we go play bowling?" SYS spoke up.

"Bowling?" I blurted out.

"Oh you don't like it? I'll think of something else then." SYS sighed.

"No, no, no, that's not what I meant. I'm good with going bowling, what say you, Hiccup?" I turned to Hiccup.

"Sounds good." Hiccup grinned.

"Yes!" SYS cheered. "What are you waiting for? Let's go!"

"Settle down dude." I laughed and pat his back.

*Time skip*

"Let's compete, whoever gets the most points wins." I declared.

"Game on!" SYS turned to me.

"You are so on." Hiccup giggled.

SYS started first, knocking down 7 pins on his first try and 1 pin on his second try. "Damn!" He groaned. I smiled at him and went next, scoring myself a spare with 8 pins then 2 pins. "Not too bad." I chuckled. Finally, Hiccup. He threw his bowling ball and BAM! All 10 pins fell down. "STRIKE!" Hiccup shouted.

The game went on and on, with Hiccup still leading. Who knew he was that good in bowling? I was the worst, with my points at the last. SYS and Hiccup were hard to beat. Until now, I still haven't got a single strike yet, they were all spares. Most of Hiccup's were strikes. I was totally struggling.

"Wow, just look at him, he's a natural. Hiccup is so winning this." SYS whispered to me.

"Yeah." I pulled a smile. "He's really good. A team player."

"You're up, SYS." Hiccup turned around.

SYS did his turn and turned to me. I sighed and stood up. Again, I got a spare. What do I have to do to get a strike?! Those pins ain't falling down! "How do you get strike all the time?!" I asked loudly.

"Practice." Hiccup crossed his arms. "Practice makes perfect!"

"Go on Hiccup, it's your turn. It's the last round too." SYS stated.

Hiccup got his round in the bag, with a strike and a spare. His total score was 200 points, SYS was 170 and I was 159. "Well, congrats Hiccup." I wrapped my arm around him.

"Thanks." Hiccup smiled at me. "You two did pretty good too."

"Not as good as you." SYS giggled.

"I'll treat you guys to some ice cream." I announced.

"Yippee!" SYS cheered.

"Serious?" Hiccup raised a brow.

"Do I look like I'm not serious?" I looked at Hiccup.

"You look like.... " SYS started. "Dead serious." SYS and Hiccup said at the same time and burst out laughing.

We walked to the nearby ice cream shop. "So, what flavour do ya want?" I asked.

"Chocolate." SYS replied.

"Vanilla would do." Hiccup replied.

I walked to the counter. "Two vanilla and one chocolate please." I said to the cashier. I paid for them and walked back to Hiccup and SYS. "Here you go." I handed them the ice creams. We sat down and enjoyed our ice cream. "So, no plans with Elsa today?" Hiccup turned to me.

"Not exactly. I don't have a plan at all! This dating is like new to me." I shrugged.

"New?" Hiccup giggled. "What about the other girl?"

"I wouldn't count that as dating. What was I like back in the past when I dated Elsa?" I asked.

"You were the perfect match for her." Hiccup smiled. "Just being yourself."

"Need help for your girlfriend?" SYS spoke up.

"Yes, I don't know what to do." I sighed.

"Just be yourself!" Hiccup gave me a friendly punch.

"I think I got a book about relationships or dating.... " SYS ransacked his sling bag.

"I will never understand the wonders in your bag, SYS. Is there anything that you don't have?!" I crossed my arms.

"I don't think so. Even of I don't have it with me, I would bring it the next day." SYS replied.

"What do your friends normally order back in Malaysia?" Hiccup questioned.

"Everything! For instance, uh.... Well Shafiq once ordered an address book, Hani ordered chocolates, Anusha ordered some books, Faiz ordered some present boxes, Jibam ordered beverages, Azlan ordered stationary, Farouk ordered an umbrella and-"

"Yeah, we get the idea." I cut in.

"That's.... A lot of stuff your friends order." Hiccup said in amazement.

"Well, that way I can sell them and make more money!" SYS smiled gleefully.

We looked at each other and laughed.
