Gabe's POV

It's been about eight months since Enid and I came to Alexandria. Ron, Mikey and I have become very close. Ron and I are closer, but Enid has been very distant. She hasn't talked to me in a few days. "Hey, Enid. You good?" I say when I see her walking the streets. She looked at me nervously. "I..I'm fine... Buddy." Then smiled weakly. I place my hand my hand on her shoulder and say "What your problem Enid? You've been so distant. I.. I just need to know if your okay!" She sighs and responds with "I.. I'm sorry, it's just that... I still don't trust this place..." "Enid. It's fine." I smile and look at her. "Your probably right." She hugs my waist, and I chuckle and sarcastically say "Now that's my best friend." She giggles and pushes me, then jokingly says "Shut up!"  Then I realize that a group of a few of our people are at the gate, and become concerned. I walk over with Enid behind me. What could it be? New supplies? Was someone bit? I shuttered at the thought of an innocent person having skin and mussel being ripped, torn from their body, all while they are still alive and can feel it. And then they turn into a roamer. We eventually get to the gates,  and Enid asks what's going on. "There are new people!" Deanna says with a smile, then adds "And they have a baby!" And of course Enid squeals like a little girl, and I laugh. A boy-around our age walks by everyone. He has a baby in his arms. They are obviously siblings. And he walks over to Enid and I. "Hey... I-I'm Carl. Carl Grimes." The boy with longish brown hair and icy blue eyes says. Enid looks up at him looks down and shyly says "This is Gabe, I'm Enid." I wave "sup man? Is that your sister? She's cute." "Oh, uh yeah! This is Judith." Carl responds. "C-can I hold her?" Enid asks. "Uhh...S..sure...?" He cautiously says, passing the young child -that looks very similar to him- to Enid "Yay!!" She squeals. "Hey baby! Aren't you just adorable!" She says while poking her nose. Which made the small child giggle.

Enid's POV

Judith is so cute! I can't!! "Can you say Enid?" I ask her and she babbles "Eni!" Which melted my heart. Carl looks at me like 'jeez.' And I look up at him and giggle. "Wow... how are you so good with children? She never does this with strangers." Carl asks me, flabbergasted. And I respond with "just in the jeans." And wink, then laugh a bit, as does he. I hand Judith back to Carl. "I WAN ENI!" Judith kicks and screams. And Carl just stares at the small child then looks at me. "Oh. My. Lord." He laughs.
~a few weeks later~
"Hey, Carl!" I say exited. Then feel a pair of arms wrap around me from the back, that pick me up, and I laugh. "ack! Put me down Gabe!" I say, then am placed back down. I turn around and hug him. "Hey Enid." Gabe says. "I'm going to go talk to Carl, okay?" I tell him. "Kay." He responds, and walks away. I laugh, and walk over to Carl. "Hey." I smile. "Hey, Enid." He looks down at me and returns the smile. "How's Judith?" I ask, remembering I haven't seen her in about a week. "She's been asking for 'Eni' quite a bit." He chuckles, then looks over to see the houses that he, and his group where staying in. I tilt my head in confusion. "Would you like to meet my group?" He stares down at me. "Oh, uh sure." My response, as awkward as can be. He lightly grasped my wrist, and lead me over to them, he opened the door, and they where like having some sort of celebration or something.  Everyone was in the one house, it was awkward... Very awkward. "Hey everyone. This is Enid!" Carl says to the group of people. A man with a police outfit on (Rick) pulled Carl to the side and cupped his hand to Carl's ear, as if they were in second grade telling secrets. I look over at them and Carl's face turned a bright red. "DAD!" Carl yelped and pushed the older man away, as he laughed. I covered my mouth with my hand and cringed, as I thought Carl would've pushed him down. The people go chat, as I wonder why Carl reacted so strangely and aggressively. The people laugh as I stand there awkwardly. "Ehem..! This is Enid. Say hello.." He says, gritting his teeth. "Haha. Hello Enid." A young woman with brown hair and beautiful emerald green eyes. (Maggie) "hey kid." A tall muscular man with dark, long hair (Daryl) says. Along with many others. But two people walked over together and it was the man Carl pushed and a beautiful woman with a police outfit on as well. (Michonne) "I am Rick. Nice to meet you." The man from earlier chuckled. "Hello, Enid. I am Michonne." The beautiful woman says stone faced. I smile and nod. "I should get back to Gabe. He's probably wondering where I am. I hope you all have a good day. Bye Carl!" I smile and walk out the door.

Gabe's POV

"Gabe I'm back!" I hear Enid yell. "Where the hell where you?" I cross my arms. "I was meeting Carl's family.." she looks at me from the bottom of the stairs. "Well, at least your not hurt." I uncross my arms and walk down the stairs, past her. I hear a sigh from the room where she was in. "Why Gabe? Why are you being such a jerk?" "I'm not. I wonder about my best friend. I can't loose you like I lost Faith..." I sigh and shake my head. I turn to face her, but  she wraps her arms around my waist and places her left cheek on my chest, which catches me by surprise, and I tense up but quickly relax. "I'm sorry. You don't have to bring up your sister. I know you two where close.." she whispers, I place my chin on her head, then separate from her, then walk into the kitchen and get out two mugs. One for her, one for me. "Coffee?" I look over at her. "No, thanks though. I'll just make tea." She walks over to the cabinet and opens it, taking a pot. She fills it with water, turns on the stove, and boils it. I grab her a teabag and sigh "Go sit. I'll make it. You need a break." She looks at me and smiles. "are you sure, Gabe?" I nod at her and walk over to the water on the stove, which had just started to boil. I turn the stove off and prepare her tea in the large pink mug with a heart on the almost porcelain looking surface. I place the bag inside it, then walk it to Enid and mess up her hair. "Really Gabe?" She giggles, and I smile a bit. Damn is she cute.
