James' P.O.V

  For as long as I could remember I've only been under the sea I've never witnessed anything more. The only possible connection I had of the surface was the sun that would glisten and the moon light that would shine on to the sea floor.

Yes, I am a Mermaid. To answer your question.

Once day I was given permission to go sit on a rock in the middle of the ocean and watched everything I could see above land but just for an hour.

So I did, I sat on a rock and sung, being bored and all until I saw a ship it wasn't big, more of a medium size. Some people on it spotted me. I dipped into the water then after a few minutes a much smaller ship, heck if you can even call it that.

   It must be a boat, it was so close to me. I looked up and saw the passenger was wearing a crown on top of his fluffy hair. He was wearing purple and in all he looked bored as hell.

  I shyly swam up and peeked at him then went back under he was so handsome and I found myself unable to go up and talk to him but I did anyways I waved to him and at first he was frightened but then he smiled at me. I got onto his boat.

  He stared at me in disbelief and complimented me. He was charming.

"You're just as majestic as I imagined a mermaid to be."

"Thank you." 

"You know I hope to see you again."

"Listen for my Song."

I then started singing to him, "it's a special one. I came up with it as I saw you."

"Hey I'm Thomas."

"Im James now goodbye." I then jumped off the boat and he sailed away one the bigger ship.

I hadn't see Thomas and I was starting to get worried.....maybe he just forgot me.

I weeped on my rock and sung the song I made just for him.

Then I turned around and saw a boat coming this way and it carried him on it.

Once he got to me he smiled, "Hey, James I'm sorry for not coming back like I promised its just."

"It's fine Thomas you're here now."

"Yeah but James....I'm getting married..."

"What?"

"Yeah I can't see you anymore."

"Thomas please is there anyway I can prevent this?"

"No James unless you become human then I can marry you but since you are a mermaid..there's not much..."

"Thomas give me time to think of something." I said then dived under and went searching frantically then I found a book, it said that mermaids could turn human once they step on land it was a gift given by the sea god for us being such loyal citizens.

I rushed to the surface and the boat was gone Thomas was gone...no....no."

I let my body float down the bottom of the ocean where I weeped all I could hear wear the sounds of my heart throbbing and my weeping. I felt shattered...

I loved talking to Thomas he was the only one who would listen and now he's gone....

I try to swim to see if I spot his boat anywhere and eventually I do find it and just in time to because it was sinking.

Thomas was about to drown but then I carried him to shore and tried making sure he was okay.

He eventually coughed up water and looked up, "James?"

"Thomas....I could change into a human this whole time and now we can be together."

He hugged me as I felt my fins turn into legs, then he kissed me.

  Now we are celebrating our fifth year of marriage on a beach together just the two of us.

"I love you~"

"I love you to~"

We both looked at our rings, "I'm so glad I found you." Thomas said to me.

"I'm pretty sure I found you." I chuckled then we kissed again.
