"JAZZ. TAKE DEEP BREATHS," Sweet Pea says, holding her shoulders.
The two are now in his trailer and Sweet Pea's desperately trying to calm Jazz down.
"He's going to kill me Pea," the blonde croaks out, taking shallow breaths with tears running down her tan cheeks.
"I'm not going to let that happen," he responds, pulling her into a hug, "I'm not going to let anyone hurt you. I promise."
Jazz lays her head on Sweet Pea's shoulder, squeezing her eyes shut and just trying not to cry. A few years fall out and dot his jacket.
They stay like this for a while, Jazz's breaths starts matching Sweet Pea's and she slowly calms down.
"Can I stay with you tonight? He knows where my trailer is," Jazz finally speaks up, clutching onto his jacket.
"Of course Jay," he whispers into ear ear, "Anything for you."
Sweet Pea holds his friend in his arms, his chin on her shoulder. His face settled into a deep frown as he thought about the person who is causing all this trouble.
two years ago
Lately, Jazz has been acting more secretive than usual and distant. She hasn't laughed or showed a real smile for a while. The blonde let her hair fall over her face, wore long sleeves even if the sun was blaring on them and refused to go swimming. Everyone saw something was going on, but Sweet Pea was more concerned than any of them.
Today, Sweet Pea is determined to find out what is happening so he walks up to Jazz's shared trailer with her brother. He impatiently knocks on the door before shoving his hands in his pockets, waiting for her to answer the door. Usually he goes to Jazz's trailer everyday but she has kept on making excuses.
After thirty seconds of waiting, he hears a loud crash and a soft scream. His eyebrows furrow in concern and he opens the door, not thinking twice. Sweet Pea steps into the small trailer and spots Jazz's brother, Zach, standing over Jazz with his fist raised. The serpent looks at Jazz and sees blood dripping out of her nose and her hair tousled.
Rage fills Sweet Pea's body and he storms over to the brother and yells at him, "Hey, asshole."
The older teenager turns around and gets punched in the face, knocking him out. He stands there for a few seconds before running over to Jazz, examining her injuries.
"Oh my gosh. Jay..." he breathes out, raising a hand to softly touch her bruised cheek. She flinches away, not only from the pain but from the embarrassment in which her friend walked into.
"Don't worry. I'm going to take care of your brother," he whispers.
"I'm so sorry Jay."
