We finish playing mini-golf; spoiler alert, I won. Now we are heading to the diner for dinner; the windows are rolled down and my hair is blowing in the wind. As soon as we had gotten on the main road, Nathan had grabbed my hand and he still hasn't let go yet. Thank God, my hand isn't sweaty!

"Okay, so pizza or cheeseburger?" Nathan asks glancing over at me for a second before turning his eyes back to the road. We had been playing this game of either or for the last few minutes that we had been driving.

"Easy, cheeseburger," I answer almost immediately. "Ice cream or cake?" I ask in return.

"Ice cream. I don't like cake," he smiles glancing at me again. My eyes widen in disbelief.

"You don't like cake? Who doesn't like cake?" I ask still in shock.

"This coming from the girl who told me that she preferred mint over fudge chocolate," he scoffs in fake disgust.

"Mint is delicious, okay?" I tell him stubbornly.

We pull up to the 24-hour Diner; Nathan parks the car and we untangle our hands to get out. I walk around the hood to meet him on the sidewalk where he grabs my hand again, giving it two gentle squeezes. I could get used to this.

We walk into the Diner and a waitress shows us to a booth near the windows looking over the parking lot. Sitting across from one another, I take a moment just to appreciate the guy sitting in front of me. His green eyes travel around the diner with a small smile on his face, showing the little dimple in his left cheek. God, he has a dimple too? What the hell? I must have groaned out loud because his gaze snaps to mine quickly and I choke a little at being caught staring... again. His smile slowly forms into a smirk and he opens his mouth about to tease me, no doubt, but I cut him off quickly.

"Don't you dare," I narrow my eyes at him playfully, and his smirk widens.

"I wasn't going to say anything," he trails off nonchalantly, rolling his eyes.

Yeah, right.

Suddenly, he grabs my hands, which were resting on the table casually, and squeezes them twice. "You look so beautiful tonight," he murmurs not breaking eye contact.

"Thank you," I blush with an urge to fidget but he is still holding my hands, stopping me from fixing the salt and pepper shakers that are too far apart from either side of the napkin dispenser.

"You're welcome," he smiles and his dimple sticks out again.

"Hi, my name is Michelle and I will be you- ugh it's you," I look up and see Michelle Armstrong, my track running enemy, in her waitress uniform with a scowl on her face. Nathan and I let go of each other's hands and pick up our menus.

"Michelle! It feels like I haven't seen you in forever since I can't do track yet with my jacked-up knee and all," I smile at her in the fakest way I can, just in a way I know gets on her nerves.

"Yeah, it's been peaceful these past few weeks. Now, what can I get you so I don't have to stand here any longer than necessary?" She asks bored.

"Sounds like a good idea to me! Can I please have the cheeseburger with fries and a chocolate shake," I recite my order to her and she quickly starts writing it down.

"I'll have the grilled chicken salad, please, with the dressing on the side and a glass of water," Nathan orders and my jaw opens slightly in confusion since I've seen the food he eats at my house and none of it is ever healthy. We hand over our menus and she walks over to the kitchen.

"You're making me look bad by ordering a salad and water when I ordered a cheeseburger and a chocolate milkshake," I mutter thinking that Michelle is probably laughing at me behind my back.

"I'm conditioning remember? Coach is strict with our diets," Nathan chuckles grabbing my hands again.

"Okay, but your season starts in six months, and Sebastian doesn't eat anything healthy, I can tell you that," I tell him thinking of the Poptarts Sebastian had eaten for breakfast this morning.

"I just like to be a good role model for my team, and I need to eat right if I want to stay in good shape," he shrugs and I immediately want to open my mouth and go on a tangent about how perfect his body looks in general but I don't and I let the thought go just as quickly as it came.

"That's great, the team looks up to you so much so I'm happy to see you taking good advantage of that," I say instead and run my thumb over his hand.

"Thanks," he almost whispers in reply, "I'm taking a sip of that milkshake though," he tells me with a teasing grin on his face.

"Uh, I think not, I do not share my milkshakes, that is where I draw the line," I tell him seriously. I don't mess around with milkshakes, those are like the Holy Grail.

"We'll see about that," he winks at me.

"You already had two sips, give it back already!" I shout at Nathan who is taking giant sips of my chocolate milkshake that arrived with our food a few moments ago. I reach over the table ready to grab it from his hands when he leans back further out of my reach.

"But it's so good," he moans taking another sip, slurping loudly.

"Then order your own! This is stealing, you know, I could sue," I tell him pointing a finger at him threateningly.

"You wouldn't sue me over a milkshake, would you?" he asks in a sweet tone.

"I would definitely sue you over a milkshake, yes, I am that petty," I tell him, turning my nose up in the air ignoring him and crossing my arms.

"Okay, fine, take the milkshake back," he slides it over to me and I glance at it quickly noticing that his three humungous sips have left me with half a milkshake left. Rude.

"You owe me another milkshake," I tell him playfully angry, picking up my milkshake and sipping it quietly.

"I'll get you another one on our next date," Nathan promises taking a bite of his grilled chicken salad.

"Next date? That's a little presumptuous of you," I note picking up my cheeseburger and taking a big bite.

"I enjoy being presumptuous, keeps people on their toes," he winks, stealing a fry off my plate. I don't say anything and just eat my cheeseburger with a stupid grin on my face.

We eat our meals and share a few stories about school and about our siblings, including the fact that our moms are going to hang out tomorrow and shop. We finish eating and Nathan takes out his credit card and hands it to Michelle so fast that I'm still digging in my bag for my purse by the time Michelle walks away from our table. I scowl and demand that next time I pay since it would only be fair.

"So, there is going to be a next time?" he smirks, grabbing my hand and we walk out the door to his car and I roll my eyes and shove him towards his door as he laughs loudly.

We get to my house a few minutes later, he turns off the engine and we both step out of the car and slowly walk up to the front door.

"I had a great tim-," I cut him off, kissing him. He stares at me with his mouth slightly open in shock.

"I know I'm sorry, I just really wanted to kiss you and I was worried that someone would hear us and come spy on us as they do in the movies, so I just needed to get that out," I rant talking quickly trying to get my reasons across to him as he stands there silently listening to what I'm saying.

"I wanted to kiss you first," he grins shaking his head gently, and I giggle nervously, as he grabs my chin and pulls me towards him, this time kissing me first. I try not to smile through the tender kiss when his free hand wraps around my waist and he gently pulls me closer to him, my arms moving to rest on his shoulders. He leans back after a few moments his fingers skimming across my lips gently with a distant smile on his face, "Now, as I was saying, I had fun tonight, thank you."

"You're welcome- I mean thank you, too, I had a lot of fun... too" I grin stupidly still thinking about the last few moments.

"I better go, Olivia is leaning over the kitchen counter staring out the window," his eyes dart behind me and I whip my face around seeing Olivia trying to move away from the counter quickly since she had been spotted, but she must have lost her grip on the counter and I see her flail for a second before she falls to the kitchen floor. I roll my eyes and turn back to Nathan who is trying not to laugh at my best friend's stupidity.

"You better get in there and make sure she's not concussed," Nathan moves his hand from my face to my waist and tightens his grip hugging me tightly.

"Serves her right for snooping," I hug him tightly to me.

"I'll text you," Nathan leans down and quickly pecks me, before he turns around and walks down the driveway, looking over his shoulder every few seconds to see if I'm staring at him. Which I am. He gets in his car and waits for me to open the front door before driving away.

I close and lock the front door, walking straight to the kitchen. Sebastian is standing there helping Olivia off the floor, while she rubs her hip gently, as he tries not to laugh.

I lean against the doorway and look directly at her, "You're an idiot," I tell her walking over to the freezer and grabbing an ice pack throwing it at Sebastian, who holds it gently against her hip.

"Well, it was totally worth it," Olivia grins, winking at me when I roll my eyes at her.
