After the Park Chapter 19

Olivia's POV

What the fuck? I sit in the passenger seat of Charlotte's car as we head home from the playground, my thoughts are jumbled as Zach's words run through my head. 'You might want to pay more attention to her and Sebastian's relationship.' What relationship?

I casually turn my head to Charlotte but I glance at Sebastian from the corner of my eye. He's looking out the window with an annoyed expression on his face because he was forced to sit in the middle seat between Tessa and Maddie.

His head snaps forward and he catches me staring at him but I don't look away. He raises an eyebrow with a confused smile when I don't say anything. I shake my head and look back towards the front. Charlotte glances at me for a second but I don't acknowledge it, keeping my eyes forward. Talk about awkward.

"Lottie, I need the toilet!" Maddie yells from the backseat in a panic.

"Well, can you hold it for two more minutes, we're nearly home?" Charlotte asks annoyed.

"But I need to go now," Maddie whines, moving around in her seat.

"Why didn't you say anything before we left the park?" Tessa asks.

"Because I didn't need to go then, I need to go now!"

"Ugh!" Charlotte groans, speeding up a bit.

"Uh-uh if you pee on me, I will throw you out the car," Sebastian threatens, moving closer to Tessa, squishing her to the window.

"Ow, jackass," Tessa mumbles, elbowing him in his side, trying to make him move.

We get back to the house and Charlotte guns it up the driveway, barely putting it in park as she opens the backdoor for Maddie to climb out of the car and then runs to the front door, unlocking it for her, following her inside.

"I got the bags!" I shout to Charlotte and she nods her head, disappearing inside. I shut the door behind me and turn to the trunk, watching Tessa grab the skateboards, heading inside. Sebastian is leaning against the back door, watching me.

"I mean, that was weird right, what Zach said?" Sebastian asks randomly as he scratches the back of his neck.

"Totally weird," I reply uncertainly. Totally weird? What the fuck is wrong with me?

"Because if I was trying to get with you, you'd be in love with me already," he replies cockily.

I raise an eyebrow at him, "A little overconfident, don't you think?"

"Yeah, that was bad, I'm sorry," he laughs, kicking the gravel under his sneakers. We stand next to each other silently, fidgeting. Trying to get away from the awkward tension, I move over to Charlotte's trunk and open it, grabbing our backpacks. "Do you wanna go out sometime?"

I stop short, my hand frozen halfway to closing the trunk. I lower the trunk and shut it before looking at him. He's staring at me. Shit, fuck I have never been this silent before. "Um..."

"I mean, it's cool if you don't want to, I just-Zach and everything-you, we could try something-I'm just going to shut up now," he stumbles over his words, turning away from me. He smacks his hand to his head calling himself an idiot under his breath.

"No, Sebastian, it's not-."

"I know, I know, I get. You don't need to pity me, we're cool," he says, facing me again with a smile plastered on his face. I lean forward and smack his head. "Ow, what was that for?"

"You didn't let me finish," I smirk, shaking my head. He motions zipping his lips, telling me he's going to keep quiet now. I sigh deeply, "Seb, it's just, Charlotte. I can't do that to her, I won't," I tell him sternly, hoping to get my point across.

He nods his head a couple times, "I know, I'm a dick for even suggesting it because of Soph and Cole, but after Zach said that, it just put a lot of things into perspective for me," he shrugs, he eyes staring into mine. "Things that have been in my head for a while now."

Oh damn.

"Seb-it-I-shit I can't speak," I laugh breathlessly, putting a hand to my head, dropping the backpacks to the ground.

He grins, taking a small step closer to me. Where the hell is Charlotte and why isn't she here, kicking my ass right now? "Just think about it, okay Grace?" I look at him, panicking not knowing what to say.

"Charlotte is my best friend, Seb, I'm sorry but I can't," I reply, feeling a pull in my heart. I itch to rip my hair out when I see his face fall.

He leans forward suddenly, kissing me out of nowhere. I need to pull away, I have to... but I don't want to. I deserve at least one minute, then I'll reject him again. He lets me go before I have a chance to kiss him back and I think that it saved me from feeling even more guilty than I already do. He stares down at me, pushing a piece of my hair away from my face, and I smack his hand, "No, no being cheesy," I tell him and he chuckles quietly, raising his arms in surrender.

"One week, Grace, that's all I ask before you decide," he says, looking around the driveway.

"Sebastian, come on," I start. He kisses me again but this time I push him away, "Stop doing that," I whine.

"One week?" He asks again.

I sigh deeply. I am so going to regret this, if Charlotte doesn't kick my ass I'll do it for her since I'm the worst best friend ever. "One week. Do you hear me Hayes? One," I tell him sternly.

He grins, nodding his head, picking up my hand and shaking it professionally, "A pleasure doing business with you, Miss Grace."

I roll my eyes, fighting the smile on my face, "You're an idiot." I pick up Charlotte's and my backpacks, letting him go inside first before going in a minute later.

I'm almost at the door when Momma C steps outside, shutting the front door before I can go in. My eyes are wide but I try and play it cool. "Hey Momma C, when did you get home?"

"Irrelevant. Olivia, you and I both know why I'm standing here right now," she replies, folding her arms over her chest.

I shift from foot-to-foot, "I can explain-."

"I don't know what that was, but you and I both know that you need to tell Charlotte, even if nothing comes out of this," she says, patting my arm softly.

I nod my head slowly, "I will, I promise."

"Soon, Olivia Grace. You deserve to be happy but she needs to know," she replies. "Or I will tell her."

"I know," I say quietly.

"Okay, come on inside, Ellie and I are making burgers," she smiles, putting her arm around me, leading me inside. "So, should I just start calling you my daughter-in-law or-."

I nudge her quickly, my face going red, "Momma C, oh my god, stop." She grins winking, and gestures to the stairs, telling me to go up there.

Charlotte is sitting on Sophie's bed, laughing at pictures they're staring at. She looks up at me and smiles brightly, "Liv, what took you so long?"

"My bag was heavy as fuck and Momma C stopped me to chat," I answer casually, having trouble swallowing the lie.

She shrugs, standing up and stretching, "Okay, whatever, let's go to my room. Bye Soph, love you," she smiles, walking out of the room.

I stop her before we go into her room, "Char, about what Zach said at the park-."

"Liv, don't worry about it, you said nothing happened so I believe you," Charlotte smiles reassuringly, making me feel even worse.

"It's just that-," I try and speak again but I'm cut off. Your brother kissed me and I think I like him.

"Kids dinner is ready!" Ellie, the Hayes' nanny, calls from the bottom of the stairs.

"Aw hell yeah, it's burger night!" Tessa yells, walking out of her room, grabbing our arms as she walks past us.

"I'm so hungry I could eat a raccoon!" Sebastian exclaims, from downstairs and I find myself smiling lightly. He's such a dork.

Charlotte grabs my hand, getting my attention, "Whatever it is, tell me later, I'm starving," she grins, shuffling us down to the kitchen.

Oh crap.

Morning after Prom

Olivia's POV

I cannot breathe. I feel like I'm suffocating and my head hurts like a bitch. I let out a loud groan as I slowly lift my head, that was buried in my pillow and look around my room.

Sebastian is sleeping at the edge of my double edge, probably because I hog all the space. He's sleeping peacefully and I take a moment to just look at this fine specimen I get to call mine. His dark hair has started to get shaggy as it rests across his forehead. He looks so peaceful and I'm sitting here awake like an idiot.

I tap his head lightly, "Babe, wake up," I whisper. He doesn't even stir. I huff and tap him harder, "Wake up," I whine. He mumbles something unintelligible and turns over, facing away from me. What? I pick up my pillow, holding it over his head quietly and smack him with it, "I said, wake up!"

"Babe, what was that for?" Sebastian bolts upright, glaring at me with half-closed eyes.

I look up at him innocently, "I was lonely."

He lets out a huff and lies back down, pulling me into his bare chest, "You are ridiculous."

I grin, turning around so that I'm facing him, "That's why you love me so much," I tell him cheekily.

"A pain in my ass," he laughs, nuzzling his head in my neck, kissing it softly. "I need to pee."

I pull away from him, "Way to ruin the moment, idiot," I roll my eyes, letting him get out of my bed. He stands up, pulling up his boxers that were crooked and maneuvers through all my clothes- and his tux from last night but mostly my clothes- lying on the floor but pauses at the window.

"You're dads home," Sebastian says in a panicked voice.

"What? No, he said he would only come back at noon so that I could effectively sneak you out," I tell him, sitting up and pulling the bed sheet with me.

"Oh, well in that case, your dad has a long lost twin brother- because he just climbed out of his car!" Sebastian starts off sarcastically but ends up yelling the last part.

I shoot up straight, looking over at the clock. 13:26pm. I let out a strangled yelp and climb out of bed, tripping on my comforter, "Son of a bitch," I mumble after face-planting the floor.

"Now is not the time to mess around, Liv," Sebastian runs around my room, picking up his clothes, "I don't have clothes to wear."

I gesture to the crumpled tux in his hands, "Just put on that."

He looks at me like I've grown a beard, "I am not putting on my tux from last night, that is the ultimate walk-of-shame!"

"Well then that's your problem," I shrug, pulling on a pair of sweatpants and a loose t-shirt. "you could always borrow some clothes of mine?" I ask with a smirk.

The jiggle of keys as my dad locks his car sends Sebastian into freak-out mode. "I can't believe I'm doing this, but I need to borrow your pants."

I laugh loudly and raise an eyebrow, slyly, lying down on my bed, holding my head up with my hand, "These ones?" I ask with a smirk playing with the waistband of the sweatpants that I had just put on.

Sebastian's eyes widen in lust but he smacks himself in the face, "No, not fair, your dad is five minutes away from killing me and you're trying to seduce me," he whines, pouting. He walks over to my dresser and opens up my bottom drawer, digging for the biggest pair of sweatpants he can find. He finds a dark gray pair and tries to pull them over his boxer briefs but they won't go any higher unless he rips them.

"I can see your undies," I giggle immaturely.

"Yeah, cause that's the real issue right now," he mumbles, rolling his eyes, trying to pull up the sweatpants as high as he can. He walks over to my drawers and shuffles through them, trying to find a shirt. "Is this mine?" He asks, picking up one of his V-necks.

"No, it's mine," I answer casually.

"Pretty damn sure it's mine," he argues back.

"And I'm pretty damn sure you left it at my house, which means it becomes mine by default, finders keepers," I stick my tongue out at him, childishly.

"Can I wear it?" He asks flatly.

"I'm glad you asked nicely, yes you can," I grin, pleased at his manners. I've taught him well.

He slips on his shirt and shoves his tux into one of my bags as I move around the room, attempting to make it look presentable.

"Should we take out some homework or some shit?" I ask, staring at some of my textbooks lying on my messy desk.

"Do you honestly think he's going to believe that we were doing homework?" he asks sarcastically.

I shake my head, "Yeah, you're right, who are we kidding?" I laugh, also coming to the realization that I have already finished all my exams. Leftover textbooks, hmm, give them to Seb or burn them?

"Livvy, I'm home!" My dad's voice runs through the house. Sebastian let's out a girlish yelp as he haphazardly makes my bed and I watch him, amused.

"Should I hide?" he asks, panting.

"Oh, come on, now you're just being ridiculous," I roll my eyes. "It's not like he doesn't know what we were doing," I shrug.

"Olivia!" My dad shouts again.

"Yeah?" I shout back as Sebastian turns on my tiny box television, making it look like we were watching tv. I snort and sit on my bed, leaning over the edge and picking up a comic book. Sebastian lies on his stomach and stares at the tv intensely.

A knock on the door shifts out attention to my dad standing at the threshold.

I give him a head nod, "Sup, pops."

He's lips quirk up a bit, "Hello Sebastian," he tilts his head to Sebastian in greeting.

Sebastian swallows loudly, his voice cracking, "Mr. Grace." Well, if that doesn't make it any more obvious then my dad's an idiot.

"Have a good night?" I asks, leaning against my chipped doorway.

"Yup, Prom was good, super chill. Courtney ripped her dress, it was awesome," I laugh, picturing Courtney's face when Brooke Havens accidentally stood on the train of her dress while we were dancing.

"Sounds like fun. Sebastian, did you have a good time?" My dad asks, smirking at the panicking boy by my feet.

Sebastian nods his head, not saying a word. I roll my eyes and kick his side. He glares back at me and I just widen my eyes, motioning for him to talk. He clears his throat, "It was great, we went to Freddy's house afterwards and got back at around 3am, as suggested." This poor tortured boy.

"Of course, and you two went straight to bed right?" Dad asks with a serious expression on his face as he stares down Sebastian. My shoulders bounce as I try and stop the laughter from bubbling up.

Sebastian looks everywhere but at my dad as he nods his head almost robotically, "Uh-huh, straight to bed- sir."

My dad nods his head, "Very well," he turns to leave the room and before Sebastian can breathe a deep sigh of relief, he turns back, "Oh and maybe next time, just make sure you put the wrapper in the trashcan," my dad laughs, staring pointedly at a spot on my floor. I sit up straight and look at where he's gesturing to and let out a loud laugh, not being able to stop keep in it, almost falling off the bed.

Sebastian groans and puts his face into the bed, covering his head with his hands.

My dad laughs again and taps my doorway, leaving the room, "I have lunch for you two downstairs when you're ready."

"I hate my life," Sebastian mumbles, his head still buried in my bed. I giggle quietly and lean on my legs, crawling over to him and lying on his back, putting my head next to his.

"Oh come on, at least he's chill about it, and he knows we're being safe," I shrug, kissing his shoulder with a smile.

He lifts his head, turning it to the side to face me, "I'm scarred."

I give him an exaggerated pout, "You poor baby." I lean closer to him, giving him a feather light kiss and climb off the bed, "Come on, baby, I'm starving."

"Just let me here to die of embarrassment," he whines dramatically, turning over and lying on his back.

I shrug unconcerned, "Okay, suit yourself." I leave my room without looking back and hear a loud thump, followed by shuffling footsteps.

"Wait no, I'm hungry and you're going to eat all my food," he says, catching up to me.

I laugh, grabbing his hand and pulling him along the hallway to our small kitchen.
