Your pov
"Holy shit, Y/N!"
Y/F strode straight past me as I opened the door for her, her hands waving frantically above her head. She headed right on into the kitchen and started rummaging through my fridge.
"Where's your wine?"
"Door."
Y/F looked to her right and grabbed the yet unopened bottle of South-African red.
"Y/F what the fuck, I need to write, I'm already past my deadline", I sighed.
Y/F snickered as she poured two large glasses. "Girl, you self-publish. Literally nobody is giving you a time limit."
"I am giving me a time limit." I tried to sound very much not amused, but took the glass she handed me regardless.
"Whatever babe, suits you", Y/F replied, making her way to the living room, where my laptop was still stranded on the sofa, Phil's notification still beaming off the screen. "Will you finally tell me what the fuck is up with this Phil situation?"
"How the hell am I supposed to know why bloody Phil Lester gets it into his head to follow me on Twitter? It's not like we've secretly been buddies and I failed to mention it to you or anything."
"You're telling me you have no idea how this happened?"
I threw my hands up. "How am I supposed to know? I've only briefly met him like once, I have no idea why he'd follow me."
"YOU MET PHIL?" Y/F shrieked. "WHEN? HOW? AND WHY DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS?"
She sat down on the edge of my sofa and took big gulps of wine. She drank, shaking her head, her eyes so wide I wondered if she'd ever blink again.
"My GOD woman. Calm the fuck down! It was yesterday. Excuuuuse me for not telling you every detail of my existence within 24 hours."
Y/F sprayed wine all over my coffee table. "You met Phil yesterday?!"
"Yeah", I shrugged.
Y/F went quiet. She looked down at her glass and rubbed her forehead. I had no idea what to expect next and frankly I was in no mood to make a fuss about the whole thing. But this was life with Y/F: always keen on the drama. I quietly moved to the other end of the sofa and went to work on my laptop. I'd just have to wait and see and meanwhile I might as well do something useful. Cleaning up would be for later. Best not to disturb her now she was finally quiet for a second.
After a good minute, Y/F slowly set her glass down on my table. Steadily. Calmly. So calmly in fact, it had me instantly on edge. She folded her hands on her knee and smiled at me. A sickeningly sweet, patient kind of smile.
"You met Phil." That creepy smile didn't leave her face for a second.
"Yeah", I said, barely looking up from my screen.
"Yesterday."
"Yeah."
She nodded with a little chuckle.
"AND YOU DID NOT THINK THIS WAS REMOTELY RELEVANT?"
I threw my head back against the sofa. "OH MY GOD, YES. I went out, I ran into Dan and Phil, we talked for a few minutes and I went on my way. Phil recognised my Twitter icon cause I tweet at them a lot and I bet there's plenty of other people he at least recognises the Twitter handle from for the very same reason, big fucking whoop. Maybe he followed me cause I'm really active and we've met and it's a nice thing to do for the people most active in the community and maybe he does it to more people like that, I DON'T FUCKING KNOW. And frankly, I also don't fucking care. If Phil wants to follow me he can follow me all he likes. Did the world suddenly change into Candy Miracle Land? NO. Stop freaking the fuck out."
F/N had come to sit at my feet and looked up at me in admiration. "You also met Dan?" she almost whispered.
I facepalmed.
"Were they really tall?" she mused.
"Very tall, yes." I resumed work.
"Were they nice?"
"Phil was nice, Dan was... Dan", I said without looking up.
"Oh my god, you should totally DM him! He follows you, you can DM him!"
"I'm not sending Phil a DM."
"But you should tell him it was nice meeting him!"
"I told him that last night. I'm not sending him a DM."
"But whyyyyyyyyy?" Y/F moaned.
"Because it's intrusive." I finally looked at her. "Honey I get you're excited but they're just people, and I like you, but I need to work."
Realising I wasn't going to budge, she finally decided to get the hint.
"Ugh, fine, I'll go. Drinks tonight though?"
"Sure", I smiled, relieved she was finally going to let me get on with writing.
Ten minutes after she left, my phone buzzed with a Twitter notification.
