THE SERPENT taps her foot impatiently against the dirt ground that is slightly wet from the rain the night before. She bites her lip and looks out at the Sweetwater River, her finger brushing against the package she holds.
Leaves crunching from shoes stepping on them alert Jazz that someone is coming so she casually hides the tissue-covered object behind her back. She comes face to face with Dilton Doiley, a perfect Boy Scout who was in need of something illegal so he came crawling to the Serpents.
"Dilton Doiley. I thought you weren't going to show up," Jazz says, revealing the object behind her back, a small smirk on her face.
"Here's the money, now just give me it," the Boy Scout says impatiently, his eyes darting around the forest, scared that someone was going to see him talking to a Serpent. He shoves a couple hundred dollar bills at the blonde.
Jazz grins and begins counting the money slowly, making sure everything was there. She was of course overpricing the object but when someone comes that desperate to you, you can easily jack the price up.
"Alright," she says, slowly putting the money in her pocket, "Now first. You must know the rules. Gotta Scout honor that shit."
"Yeah, Yeah. Just hurry up," he says, snapping a little but immediately cowers when he sees the serpent's face, "I mean. Yeah. Anything you want."
An all teeth smile appears on Jazz's face and she starts explaining the rules, "First, don't try to contact me ever again unless it's very important. If we're seen today, we don't need to be seen again."
She looks at Dilton, making sure he understands before continuing, "Second, Do not open up this package until you know you're alone and there's no cameras. Third, you don't know my name for a reason. Now if you find out my name and I hear it fall out of your mouth, you bet something will happen to you. If you're caught with it, Serpents had nothing to do with it. Break any of those rules and you'll be worse than dead."
Dilton nods shakily as Jazz hands him the wrapped package, "Yeah."
"Don't be an idiot," the blonde says before walking away.

Jazz sits on top of her trailer, legs crossed, while she scrolls through her phone.
"Rapunzel, Rapunzel. Let down your hair," someone says jokingly from the ground.
The blonde looks down and greets her best friend with a smile, "Hey Sweet Pea."
"Hey princess," he smiles and climbs up next to her, "Whatcha been up to?"
"Nothing," she hums out, leaning against the boy and closing her eyes.
Sweet Pea looks down at the girl with adoring eyes. His brown eyes glance over every detail of her beautiful face as she peacefully holds his hand.
In that moment, the two Serpents were content. They were enjoying their summer, not knowing what was going to happen to Riverdale.
