"I'm nervous. I'm nervous, R."
"Well, you look beautiful."
Enjolras laughed a bit and glanced in their bedroom mirror once more as he straightened his perfectly straight tie.
"Enj, calm down. They've already asked you to do it."
"Yeah, you're right."
Enjolras ran a hand over his hair, and Grantaire caught his hand as he lowered it. "Hey. You'll be okay."
"Yeah," Enjolras smiled softly. "I should go."
Grantaire kissed his husband quickly, and he could feel Enjolras smile.
"I love you. I'll text you after the meeting."
"Of course. Go get 'em. I love you too."
Enjolras kissed Grantaire once more and quickly left the apartment.

"Hey, Enjolras."
Enjolras spun around to see a tall, redheaded young man walking beside him.
"Oh, hey, Marius."
"You're here early."
Enjolras nodded. "I... got a case."
"Woah, really? Me too. Maybe we're working together."
Enjolras laughed a tiny bit. "Wouldn't that be something?"
In addition to working together for the past four months, Marius and Enjolras had gone to school together, and they'd been roommates for two years. Marius had been there when Enjolras met Grantaire, and they hung out often. Well, them and a few others: Courfeyrac, Combeferre, Joly, Grantaire, and Eponine.
They reached the room they were supposed to be meeting in, and they entered together.
"Morning, Mr. Valjean," they both greeted.
"Good morning Marius, Enjolras. How are you?"
They both answered, and after handing them both a cup of coffee, Mr. Valjean told them both to sit.
"So," he started, "this case. Our client has been... um, accused of a murder. He claims to be innocent, and obviously, we're trying to prove that he is."
"How long ago did this happen?" Enjolras asked.
"A few days ago. I'll email you the full reports- the two of you are going to be working together. You get along, right?"
Marius and Enjolras looked at each other and burst out laughing.
"I'll take that as a yes," Mr. Valjean smiled. He then stood up. "Okay, well, I have another meeting to get to - feel free to work in this room anytime, I think it's larger than either of your offices. You can meet with the client this afternoon if you'd like, and the body is being kept at the hospital just a few blocks over if you need to see it.
"Wait, the St. Michele Hospital?" Marius asked.
Yes," Mr. Valjean replied, "why?"
"Just... a good friend of ours is a resident surgeon there."
"It's a small world," Mr. Valjean laughed. "Let me know if I can help with anything." And he disappeared down the hall.
Enjolras and Marius looked at each other for a moment, and then laughed.
"So me and you on a case. And the dude is at Joly's hospital. Next thing we know, Grantaire'll have done the police sketches," Enjolras said.
"And it will have happened at Eponine's bookstore."
"Oh, they were there because they needed a book for one of Combeferre's classes."
"And Courfeyrac... did it."
They both laughed again, but quickly stopped.
"So. What first?" Enjolras asked.
