▬▬ 𝓟.olnareff didn't understand flowers, he just knew that he had to buy Sherry a bouquet for her debut since that's what she asked for instead of a party. The fact that she denied throwing a party threw him off. He knew that his sister was a social butterfly, she couldn't even stand people for a day, thus leading her to find ways to prank or annoy him.
However, maybe Sherry asking him for a bouquet wasn't so bad... since throwing parties cost a lot. Plus, she was already in university, so the debts piling up would scar them financially. They probably would not financially recover from it either.
Anyhow, he didn't know how much a bouquet would cost, but surely it wouldn't cost that much since it's all just pretty flowers chucked into an arrangement while being dressed with ribbons and some fancy-looking paper.
Suddenly, someone beside him repeated what they said. The male didn't give them all his attention, but he acknowledged their statement with a slight nod.
The stand user still had his chin in between his hands though. He took one good look at all the flower arrangements before him, and he already feels like he is looking at his math test; There were so many choices, but he didn't know which one to choose or what the right bouquet was. He suddenly felt stupid for not understanding these girly things, but then again, it's expected he was going to react like this since he was a boy after all and not a girl.
"Do you guys have a flower bouquet thing for a debut?- Sorry, I'm not used to-" Polnareff had cut himself off when he saw the employee before him.
Just being in the same room as the employee felt like there was something pulling Polnareff towards her. It was like he was a piece of metal scrap while she was the magnet. Maybe that's just Polnareff's casanova instinct saying that but, he knew for sure that he felt a magnetic force being pulled towards her direction.
They say love at first sight is stupid, but he had this strange feeling that this was not his first time meeting her. Because of this strange feeling, he was suddenly interested in her. The silver-haired male knew they were strangers, at least he assumed they were strangers, but his curiosity and sudden fondness of her was something he couldn't stop from happening.
"Uh, sir? Can you continue explaining what the theme is for your flower arrangement?" The employee asked, but the male still wore that dumbfounded look.
"Sir, if you're going to continue to look like a moron, I must leave you to someone else because I have over things to attend to-" Oddly enough, that threat was enough to get the stranger on his toes. From the girl's perspective, it seemed like the thought of her leaving scared him.
"EY! L/N, I HEARD WHAT YOU SAID! TAKE THAT BACK OR YOU WON'T BE GETTING ANY RAISE FOR THIS MONTH!" Mrs. Gonzales warned the university student, which made her grumble about "not getting paid enough" and "stupid university loans".
Despite being infuriated, she forced herself to deal with the handsome yet idiotic stranger. Y/N thought he would be more than looks yet here he was acting like an idiot. She's slightly disappointed with the outcome, but the girl dug her own grave. Plus, if she considered running away then she wouldn't be able to eat for the next month.
"It's for the money, L/N." The H/C-haired girl reminded herself, which slightly encouraged her to deal with this idiot right in front of her.
"Sir-" The part-timer called out, but she was interrupted once again.
"I uh- Sorry! It's just I never thought someone could match the beauty of a rose." The male flirted with a shit-eating grin on his face, which made her roll her eyes at him.
"Smooth, but I have no intentions of getting into flings." The girl shot back with a smile that was tempted to bite his face off.
The university student should've known this was how he was going to respond to her. Although L/N was a plain-looking girl filled with pessimism, people loved to hit on her. She doesn't know the exact reason they like cat-calling her, but she presumes they do this to work on their lines. Her dorm mates were more attractive than her, yet they hit on the ugly girl. They're quite stupid honestly, but she accepted the compliments despite knowing they filled those lines with bullshit and lies.
"WAIT! I wasn't planning to do that or anything- I was just planning to ask you out on a date." The stranger reasoned, but this statement worsened the scowl on her face.
"Well, let me rephrase what I said then, I have no intentions of dating customers." The H/C-haired girl countered, which caused him to drop his jaw.
By now, Polnareff felt his heart shatter bit by bit. He knew that the girl and him were strangers, but her words cut him deeply. He wouldn't be surprised if the wound she made would be deeper than the cuts Silver Chariot made.
The silver-haired male was a romantic. A desperate fool who wants nothing but affection and a girl by his side. He even thinks that having a lover would complete his life. Because of his desperation, he kept pursuing every girl he came across, even though they kept rejecting him, he kept going with pursuing women.
However, his sister would prefer wording his obsession with girls as "You think with your crotch."
Unlike the other fishes he tried to catch, he specifically wanted to catch this one right in front of him. The male could tell she wasn't anything special; she was the very definition of a sleep-deprived student. However, he had a gut feeling that the florist was the right call.
"Or maybe that's a crotch feeling." He joked to himself, but he knew if he said that out-loud it would not sound funny, out of context at least.
Unfortunately, it seemed like he made the wrong move because the girl's face said that she was not having his bullshit.
"Please proceed with your bouquet request." The H/C-haired employee stated.
The silver-haired stranger shared the theme for the bouquet while the girl made a couple of arrangements. He suggested some changes here and there while the employee complied with his suggestions. There were times she had to justify why she kept some flowers and side plants in the arrangement though, but they found the arrangement they could both agree upon.
Once they had agreed upon the design, both of them moved to the counter with the bouquet in the male's hands. He made sure he was delicate with how he held the arrangement; He didn't want it to wilt too quickly, even though he wasn't sure if that was possible. His blue eyes drifted to the familiar girl who seemed busy jotting down information whilst calculating the price.
"She looks so familiar..." He thought then tried to recall.
"Hey, have we met before?" The idiotic stranger brought up, which caused the girl to pause.
"My face is plain as it can possibly be, so you might've seen someone who looks like me-" The H/C-haired girl excused but the stranger interjected. "NO! I have a feeling we met before, I just can't pinpoint when-"
"Well, maybe that's just your dick talking-" Right on cue, Mrs. Gonzales dragged the rude employee to the backroom and scolded her for being a straight-up bitch.
Once the older lady was done smothering the university student with scolding and with motherly love. She returned to the counter with an apologetic smile in which the muscular man returned but; it seemed like his smile came off more uncertain than apologetic.
