We arrived at the party and I looked around for my brother.

"You wanting to find your brother as well?" she asked me "We could split up."

"Yeah." we did so and it wasn't hard I found him. "Chuck." I kissed his cheek

"Rosie, you look ravishing, where is your husband?"

"Dan is sorting his own life out, mainly trying to recover from Serena damage. Speaking of she's looking for you as well."

"Mr Bass and Mrs Bass-Humphrey." we turned our attention to a woman who looked very smug. "Looking Dapper and elegant

"Thank you...." i trail off

"Raina." she answered "I met your brother earlier." she told me

"Was he an ass?" I question "I only ask because my brother looks weird and you look smug. You know something he should."

"You're very perceptive. Someone wanted to say hello." she gestured behind us and there was a man i recognise

"Mr Thorpe, it's a pleasure to finally meet you, sir." Chuck shook his hand "This is my sister Rose Bass-Humphrey."

"Nice to meet you Mr Thorpe."

"Please, call me Russell. Congratulations on your wedding, the news reached us all the way from here."

"Thank you."

"I see you've met my daughter." he gestured to Raina. Oh Chuck, whatever you said I hope you can apologise for it.

"Raina Thorpe."

"Wharton Grad, Thorpe Enterprises' vice president and a most trusted advisor to her proud and ageing papa." my phone started to ring

"I'm so sorry, I have to take this. Please excuse me." I stepped away.

"Dan, aren't you supposed to be plan B-ing?" I ask

"My plan B was a bust. I'm going home and cooking dinner, looks like I will not be getting an internship."

"Don't say that, just yet. I will see you later. Bye." I end the call and huff, my feet were hurting already so I sat down.

"Rosalie, I didn't know you were coming." Mom sat down with me.

"Well i wanted to show my support and meet Mr Thorpe, though something tells me Chuck made a lasting impression on his daughter."

"One of these days, your brother is going to get into trouble we can't get him out of." she commented

"I think he already did that. Serena's around here somewhere as well. Still looking for Chuck I think."

"I didn't know Serena was coming."

"She wasn't, but she got a call from Eric so she was my plus one. Which reminds me Dan..." Eric sat with us

"Sorry, I'm late but i couldn't find any cufflinks so I just borrowed the one that Judge Stephens left." Mom looked rattled

"Have I missed something?" I question

"Rosalie, when you see Serena please tell her to stop whatever it is she's planning on doing before she destroys our family. Oh and keep an eye on your brother please." I nodded and looked at Eric.

"Tell me what she has."

"Serena has a copy of the affidavit that my mom forged." I groan and stand "Rose don't interfere "

"I will do what I damn well like. Especially when it could put the sell in jeopardy and I may really lose the last piece of my Dad." I go searching for her and when I do I see her with my brother.

"Whatever it is you two are plotting you need to stop. Right now." i told them

"Lily mislead you, It's not Russell Thorpe."

"Mom didn't mislead me. I assumed she never said it was and whatever your going to do could ruin everything. I won't let you do that."

"I'm going to speak with Lily." Chuck left us.

"She can't keep getting away with this, it isn't fair Rose." she sighed

"Fair? Life isn't fair it's a riding fucking rollercoaster blindfolded. Now you've already screwed with Dan's meeting. It was to him his last shot."

"But he'll get another chance."

"What world are you living in, Serena. He wasn't born in our world, in his world you only get a certain number of chances and you know what he's okay with that most of the time because it's what he's used to." I took the envelope from her and while she was focused on me talking I switched them.

"now what you're about to do is it worth it, ruining more people lives. Or are you gonna do walk out the door and live another day to fight when the time is right?"

"I'm sorry." She took the swapped envelope and I shook my head. I asked for my coat. Turns out they misplaced it. Charming, so I wanted

"I thought I saw you storm out of here 10 minutes ago?" Blair asked joining me

"They misplaced my coat. Happy new year by the way. How was your break."

"Relaxing I watched Nanette at the film forum." I chuckled "What?"

"Dan loves Nanette. I know shocker you two have something in common."

"You seem gloomy for someone who just got back from their honeymoon this morning."

"Well, my family business is struggling and Mom is trying to save it. Yet I'm the only one who seems to believe that. Chuck and Serena almost screwed over another Humphrey. Lucky for me, Chuck has nothing on my deviousness. What about you?"

"I planned a scheme that blew up in my face. I had a horrible fight with my mother, I tried to be Indra Nooyi and while I admit that choice may have been a bit random, the other choice was to be my mother and i didn't want that."

"Why not? You care more about fashion more than most people care about anything. You used to send girls home crying from Constance because they wore tights as pants." she smiled

"Well somebody had to, it was for the greater good. Just like you nosy in peoples lives then intervene."

"Like you say, somebody had to." I laugh "Dan said something very true once. He said that you're an 'evil dictator of taste.' and he's right. Why deny that part of you because its was your mother does." My coat was handed to me "Thank you."

"I'm heading home to the only good part of my day. Goodbye Blair." I give her one last smile and leave. On my way home I received a disturbing phone cal from my brother. I returned home to a candle lit dinner

"Stressful day?"

"Yeah. I just got off the phone with Chuck. Turns out his and Serena's Coup de ta ruined the sale of Bass Industries, which Russell Thorpe snatched the chance and he is going to ruin everything my Dad built." Tears ushered down "I am now currently not speaking to him." I let out a teary laugh.

"I know I didn't want to be apart of the day to day things but that doesn't mean I wanted it to be like this." he wrapped his arms around me
