Kate's POV
I walk into Jays hospital room and he's asleep with lily in his arms next to him. I walk out of his room " who's detective Halsteads doctor" I ask Maggie " Dr. Natalie Manning do you need her" " I need to talk to her but if she's with a patient it can wait" I respond heading towards Jays room.
4 minutes later
"Hey Kate" Natalie says walking into the room "Maggie said needed me" and it's perfect timing I need to check on detective Halstead anyway "I haven't exactly told you who I am, Jay, he's my brother and I have another brother who's a doctor" "ohh yeah Will Dr. Will Halstead, have you told him?" "Where is he I haven't had the time" "I'll page him if you want" "sure" i say as Jay wakes up "hey buddy" "does he know about it" Natalie asks "not that I know of" I respond
Jays POV
"Do I know about what" "do you remember anything I or anyone from the team said when you were in the water or being loaded in the ambulance" Kate asks "No" "Jay your my brother" "wait wait I'm your brother" I say accidentally "what are they doing here I don't trust them" Lily yells getting up and running out of my room. "I'm going after her" I say putting on my shoes and grabbing my clothes. I go into the hospital bathroom and change. I put my badge and holster on my belt when there's a gun shot. I run outside with Kate. We run to the far end of the parking lot only to find Lily there on the ground shot in the chest and arm. "Kate go look for the shooters" I say as I pick up Lily. She grabs me around my neck so I leave her be while I run towards the hospital.
