Chapter 34
Returning to Jaylemm was like losing a puppy, but finding it again. But that puppy ended up being very ill and died. Houses, businesses, even the pretty purple, blue, and pink trees were all destroyed. Roads were torn up, and all that was left intact was the death board.
"Well, now isn't that ironic? The King wanted peace, but the only thing left of the place is the list of all who died." TLo says, looking around at all the rubble.
"Yeah." I say, looking at a pile of wood and stones.
"Why so glum, chum?" he asks.
"This is where I started. Right outside this house, here. It's where I first met Elle. She was helping an elderly man with some chores." I say.
"Hm. She sound really boring." he says, and I punch him in the elbow.
"She was, but we loved her. She was really nice, too. She was there for you when you needed her. Heck, she even wanted to meet up at Elander, but we never got to, since she and I ended up being roommates with Laye." I say.
"You mean the dimension?" he asks, and I cock my head.
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"That name, it's also a dimension." he says.
"Well, what's this mean?" I ask, starting to get excited.
"You think they're there?" he asks.
"I don't know, but it's worth a shot!" I say. "Wait, all of the potions have been wiped from the whole place."
"Not exactly." he says, opening the zipper of his dark red jacket. Inside the pockets were vials of different shapes and colors, and I cock an eyebrow.
"You dirty rotten thief." I say, smiling. He pulls out an orange vial, and pops the cork.
"There's instructions, though. Once you drink this, everything will be purple. At the very end of the dimension portal is a door. Knock five times, and you can enter." he explains, and I nod my head.
"Sounds simple enough." I say, taking a green colored potion. I take a drink, I feel dizzy, but then, just like TLo explained, everything was purple. I run to the door, which was easy to see at the the end on the trail.
"I'm there." I say, knocking five times. The door opens, and I'm surrounded by the looks of a city.
"Okay. You can still see my face, right?" he asks.
"Yes. You can come over now." I say, smiling.
"Jemma, there's something I've been meaning to tell you. Two things, actually. One, I can't go to any other dimension. The reason I was sent to Jaylemm was to fight the battle, and then stay here, alone." he says, and my eyes widen. I was about to yell, but he continued, "Two, I'm not who you think I am." he says, and his bones start to bend, and he grows four times, his blonde hair growing at a quiff at the top, and I stare into his blue eyes.
Noah.
"Noah!" I scream.
"There's no time. You've got to look for your friends, and be happy. Don't worry about me. I'll be fine. Goodbye." he says softly, and a tear slides down his face. The dimension window shrinks, and disappears.
"Th-that's the last time I'll ever see Noah." I say to myself.
"Hi, Jemma." a familiar voice says from behind me. I jump, and turn around.
Laye and Elle stood there, smiling.
"Welcome to Elander!"
