9/1-Sakura

It was a beautiful morning.  Nya would say so if she had actually had much sleep.  Then again, she's not sure if the others got much sleep either even though they could all use it.  After thinking her boyfriend, brother, a couple other friends were all dead for a while only to have find out they were trapped in other realm, sleeping becomes overrated.

They were currently staying in a hotel.  It was one of the only buildings that wasn't destroyed during Garmadon's takeover.  (Don't ask.)  They all split up with roommates.  She was sharing a room with PIXAL who she noticed wasn't in the room at the moment.  Nya figured that she probably went to see Zane.  Nya wanted to stay in a room with Jay, but Kai wouldn't let her.  So, Jay and Cole were roommates as were Lloyd and Kai.  Zane actually managed to get his own room.

Nya walked out to the balcony that her room had and looked out at the destroyed city.  Ninjago would rebuild.  They always did and they would come back stronger than before.  She saw a Sakura tree down there that, miraculously, hadn't been destroyed.  (How does this logic make any sense?)  She continued looking at the tree and noticed that there was someone sitting underneath the tree.  She left the room and took the elevator down to the bottom floor.  Once there, she walked outside and got a better look at who was at the Sakura tree.

She quietly walked over and sat down next to him.  She has to admit that it would be romantic sitting under this tree if the circumstances were different.  But they weren't.  They had all been through a lot since becoming ninja and everything that just happened probably worsened the trauma they all already had.

"How much sleep did you get?" Jay asked.  (Like it was going to be anybody else.)

"Maybe two hours," Nya answered.  "You?"

"One hour.  Tops."  They both sat in silence for a few minutes.  What do you say to a person you thought you were never going to see again?  How are you supposed to feel about that?  "I didn't think we would find away back."  Nya turned to Jay when he finally spoke up.  "I wanted to hope.  I really did and I broke while there because I couldn't imagine a life without you."  There was so much emotion on every word Jay spoke.  Nya knew that must have been painful for him to say.

Well, if Jay could admit that, she could tell him how she felt.  Could she?  He was always better at expressing his feelings, but there were things that she felt like she needed to open up about.  "I thought you were dead.  I really did.  When Lloyd told me that he saw the ship get destroyed, I knew it was possible you guys might have survived, but that it was unlikely.  Who would've thought you guys would've had Traveler's Tea?"  She had to admit now, that she was starting to tear up.  "I tried to push the thought of living without you far out of my mind.  I didn't want to think about it because if I did, I would break.  I needed to be strong.  To help Lloyd.  To stop Garmadon.  I couldn't let myself break, but I guess we all break at some point."

"I guess so."

Nya laid her head down on Jay's shoulder.  "How are we supposed to move on like nothing happened?"

"Maybe we don't because I can't pretend that this didn't happen," Jay answered honestly.

"Neither can I."  Nya meant it.  She couldn't forget the feeling she had when Lloyd had said that the others were dead.  She couldn't forget how much she wanted to cry, to scream, to rip Garmadon and Harumi's hearts out if they even had those.  They tore hers heart apart, so they didn't need hearts anyway.  Nya looked up as the wind picked up and some petals started falling from the tree.

Jay laughed, but there was no humor in it.  "You know, this would be romantic in different circumstances."

Nya couldn't help a small smile that spread across her face.  "I was thinking the same thing when I first sat down here."

Jay smiled back at her, cupped her cheek with his hand, and kissed her.  It had been a while since she tasted his lips.  Since they were able to be this close.  Now, she wishes that she had gone against Kai's wishes and got a room with Jay.  She might've actually gotten some sleep if he had been right beside her.  When they pulled apart, she still wanted more.  She couldn't live without Jay.  She knows that now.  They knew that they would never forget what happened, but whatever happens, Nya knows that she will never let anybody separate her from Jay again.

A/N: I hope you enjoyed
