Day 2: Family
A/N
This one and one other one I wanted to make full oneshots at first, but I feel like they're better suited for here.
Again, really short, I'm sure other people will satisfy your needs a lot more. Enjoy!

When he heard screams, he raced down the hallway.
He was just in the middle of making breakfast when it happened. Having grown up with basically a bowl of cereal every morning, treating his family to a rich meal was more than anything he could have asked for.
Pancakes, yogurt, fresh orange juice... and, of course, his wife's additions, the healthiest fruit and vegetables she could think of. "They are for the kids," she said, but deep inside, he knew they were meant for him too.
His footsteps were loud, his mind was hazed. Had they been killed? Kidnapped? Had they hurt each other accidentally? Ever since the first one was born, his powers had been getting weaker; it was only a matter of time before she would reach her true potential and they would be gone forever. How would he protect them? He knew how to fight, of course, but still...
He burst open the door to their room, only to hear the scream again. Up-close, they weren't screams of fear; instead, they were screams of laughter.
"Kaya!" he said in a panic. Said toddler stopped, tilting her head up towards him. His focus was mostly on the baby by her side, however. "How did Eddie get out of his crib?" he said, kneeling down beside them.
"I let him out," said Kaya casually.
"Why would you do that?"
"He was crying!" she pouted, pointing at her brother accusingly. "I gave him Cuddly to stop."
"Oh." His gaze shifted to the blue plushie in the baby's arms. He wasn't entirely happy that the name had been reduced to 'Cuddly', but his daughter insisted that 'Mr Cuddlywomp' was too formal of a title. Nevertheless, he agreed.
"I'm a big girl now, I don't need him," she said, clumsily standing up on her legs to stand in a superhero pose.
He chuckled, but before he could say anything, another voice interrupted him.
"Your father needed him until you were born," Nya chimed in with a laundry basket in her arms. "Is... everything okay?" she said in a more cautious tone.
"Yup..." Jay let out a sigh of relief upon seeing her. He walked over to her, placing a kiss on her cheek. "Just fine."
"Are you sure?"
He picked up Eddie in his arms, placing him back inside his crib. "Yep," he said, then turned to his daughter. "As for you, missy... Come to us whenever he's crying, okay?"
She nodded reluctantly.
Looking at his son cuddling his childhood plushie in his sleep, it was hard not to tear up.
He knelt down next to Kaya again, his smile a lot softer. "I'm proud of you for giving him Cuddly," he said, then pressed a kiss on her forehead. "And good kids get a good breakfast." He pinched her nose, making her laugh.
He joined in, until another voice echoed throughout the house. It was Nya's.
"Jay, the pancakes!"
Ah, shoot.
