Texting (except I actually put effort into it unlike the other texting ones)

I could of been cheap here, I mean I basically built one of my books off of cheap texting prompts. However I decided to do this one properly.

I hope you enjoy this.

DING DING BADADING DING

The familiar noise of the phone receiving a new message, and with personalised notification noises, She knew exactly who had sent the text.

Picking up the phone, she saw the contact of Lloyd, the blond who once kept them all together. Quickly looking down the contacts, there was everyone, Kai, Cole, Pixal, Jay, and.. Him.

The one who gave them all their chance to be there today.

The one who took the dark lord himself on.

The one which didn't come out of the dark that day.

Pixal herself hadn't been seen in who knows how long, promising to contact back every week, but after three, nothing more.

The boys had gone on to do their own things, while she stayed behind with the destined green ninja, Cole had gone to be a lumberjack; Kai a fighter, and Jay.

Jay...

Well he went on to host his own show. Quite a good one in fact.

Nya herself had been tempted to go onto the show, just to show others how it is done.

But she couldn't, mainly because she didn't want to stoke any tension between her and him.

Again...

It didn't stop her from watching the show however, ice cream by her side. She doesn't usually have a sweet tooth, but there was something mesmerising and appealing about blueberry ice cream.

Blueberry..

Everything she did, she was reminded of him.

Picking up the phone, pausing the latest episode of his show, she peered down to see the message Lloyd wrote.

[You're watching his show again, aren't you.]

She sighed. Lloyd knew her too well. She quickly typed a response.

{Yeah, So?}

She was about to press play on the show before her phone dinged again. Grunting in frustration, she looked at the screen once again,

[You're not getting anywhere reconciling with him by just watching his show. Talk to him.]

She threw her phone to the side, annoyed. She knew he would try it again. Lloyd had tried to get the team back together several times before, all to no succession. He even thought to try to exploit Jay's love for Nya to make her convince him to rejoin the team. Every time she refused. It wasn't her place.

It shouldn't be her place.

Ever since he had left, she hadn't spoken a word to him, and she didn't want to hurt him all over again.

Taking a quick glance at her phone, face down on the couch, she sighed.

One text couldn't hurt, could it?

-----------------------------------------------------------

He quickly closed the door behind him, away from all the producers, and the cameramen. They had just finished filming for the day, all the contestants hadn't made it to the end of the course. He didn't expect them to, to be honest. They weren't ninja.

Neither was he.

Not anymore.

Looking at a picture of his friends, he sighed. He missed her.

Especially her.

He flipped the picture face down.

He couldn't look at it anymore.

Too many bad memories.

Facing the mirror, he used his brush to take off the makeup he wore.

Oh how he missed the old days.

DingDingDaDingDingDaDingggggg

His phone dinged out of nowhere. The notification sequence gave away who it was from as well.

Once upon a time he would grab that phone with no hesitation, once.

Not anymore.

Not after what she did to him. And the worst bit is that he didn't blame her.

It was his fault.

All his.

Still, Nya never texted him. There must be a reason she was doing now.

[Hey]

Or not.

Confused, he quickly texted back a response.

{Hey..?}

DingDingDaDingDingDaDingggggg

[How you doing? Long time no see]

{Good? How are you.]

[Am great. All those contestants sucked btw]

That got a chuckle out of him. He would never say it to them, or even mention it, but hearing it sounded funny.

{I thought they did great}

[Always the optimist.]

Quickly, he typed his question in.

{Why are you texting btw? I thought you hated me lol}

His last word was hopefully to die down tensions, but it would await to see.

DingDaDingDingDaDingggggg

[Hate you?!?!? Why would I? I am just not used to texting often.]

That's a lie, she basically texted him all the time previously.

{You used to like texting me. What changed?}

[Got busy I guess.]

-----------------------------------------------------------

{Got busy I guess}

Not a complete lie, she had gotten more active without the ninja being around anymore. Her workload increased tenfold.

Besides, she didn't want to admit to him that she would probably mess up and either start apologising for the next three and a half hours, or say she still liked him.

He probably didn't like her anymore.

She wouldn't blame him.

[I still missed talking to you though.]

That made her heart melt a bit. Still the old sentimental Jay.

{I missed talking to you too :( }

She hoped her words didn't come off too strong, or give off the wrong message.

[I hope you can find time to text me again.]

It was endearing, and tempting for her.

Maybe she could commit to the messages, even if there was no feelings there.

After all, they were still friends.

{I'd love that.}
