The Peanut Butter To Her Jelly
{This was totally inspired by Victorious, but I just had to write this. Enjoy!}
"Everybody, FREEZE!" a voice suddenly yelled as the person slammed the door to the dining room open, causing everyone to stop eating and look over at them.
There, panting heavily, was Dareth. He was clutching the doorway with one hand as his other hand was resting on his knee. It was quite clear for everyone that he had to have run all the way up the stairs to the monastery.
Lloyd slowly broke out of his freezing position as he lowered his spoon that was full of ABC soup and cleared his throat. "Dareth, what can we do for you?"
"You did not answer my calls!" Dareth accused, pointing a finger at him.
The Green Ninja furrowed his eyebrows. Then he shrugged. "I would've called you back when I had time."
"Well, what were you doing that was obviously more important than me?" Dareth asked, crossing his arms above his chest.
"Didn't know you two were together now," Nya commented as she raised her eyebrows and looked away from everyone while taking a sip of her black coffee.
That caused Jay to snort next to her, but he quickly covered it up by shoving his spoon into his mouth.
Lloyd glared at her. "You're so funny," he said sarcastically.
"You love me, really," she smirked at him as she leaned back into her chair.
Her friend rolled his eyes at her before looking back at their unexpected guest. "What's up, Dareth?"
"You would've known if you answered my calls," Dareth sighed dramatically. "But since I've graced you with my presence, I want to tell you that you guys have to come to Laughy's tomorrow."
"And why's that?" Kai asked, slurping up his soup.
"Can't you come and visit your family?"
"We're not family," Cole said as he was putting more salt into his soup.
Dareth gasped, a hand on his heart for the dramatic effect. "Cole Lewis Brookstone, how dare you say such things?!"
"That's not my middle name," Cole mentioned before he stuffed his mouth with the soup (which was over-salted, really).
Dareth scoffed. "Yes, it is." When he saw Cole's glare, he decided to drop the subject. "So, are you guys coming, then?"
"Will you leave us alone if we say 'yes'?" Kai asked, annoyed.
Dareth nodded.
"Then yes," the Fire Ninja added.
"You're amazing!" Dareth exclaimed before he stormed out again.
The ninja went back to eating in comfortable silence, but not before hearing a quiet 'I know' from Kai.
~ the next day ~
"Why did we come here again?" Kai asked as he got out of the Land Bounty.
"Because you couldn't keep your mouth shut," Cole answered, walking past him while patting his shoulder.
"Let's just go in," Lloyd sighed.
Jay chuckled at all of their behavior as he walked over to the other side of the vehicle and grabbed Nya's hand right after she got out.
She smiled up at him, interlocking their fingers and squeezing his hand. They entered Laughy's together, leaving the others strolling behind them.
Once they were inside, they looked around to see that the regular lights were out, or more like replaced by LED lights lighting the entire room up in blue, green, purple and red.
It was pretty loud, given that the room was packed with many people. Some were dancing to a peppy party song, others were sitting with their friends, and others were at the counter and ordering more drinks.
Jay sighed as Nya found an empty table with four chairs and dragged him over there. He hated social gatherings like the pest. Okay, maybe not all social gatherings, but most definitely events like parties.
The other ninja quickly followed the two. Cole and Zane sat down on the two chairs that were opposite of Jay and Nya's, and Kai and Lloyd found two chairs and dragged them over to their table and sat down.
Before anyone could say anything, Dareth practically flew up to them. "You actually came!" he exclaimed, smiling. "What drinks can I get ya?"
"Don't you have waiters and waitresses who, you know, were hired to do this job?" Nya asked, raising an eyebrow at him.
"Nonsense, you guys are my special guests," Dareth said with a cheeky grin.
Yeah, the ninja knew exactly why he was the one serving them. They were the ninja after all, anyone who came in contact with any of them would be treated like a king or queen if seen with them.
"Just bring us your best beverages that don't contain any alcohol," Lloyd said.
Dareth nodded and went back to where he had come from, leaving the six alone.
"So... what are we gonna do no-"
Jay was cut off by the self-proclaimed Brown Ninja who brought them their drinks on a silver tray.
Literally.
Without saying another word, he disappeared again, leaving the ninja stunned for a few seconds before they relaxed again.
After talking for a bit about basically anything that came out of their mouths — from a discussion of whether Pepsi or Cola was better to why Aspheera had kept her whole 'revenge act' up for that long — they decided to dance to the disco music that was currently playing loudly in the background.
About half an hour later, they settled back down to their seats and ordered some milkshakes and waited for their orders.
During a new argument about everyone's opinion on the importance of being styled while fighting (which Kai started by saying his hair needed to 'look gorgeous when he was kicking criminal butts'), Nya stood up from her seat, catching everyone's attention and stopping her brother mid-sentence.
"Gotta go to the bathroom," she said before she looked at each of them individually. "Kai, I will come for your hair gel when you least expect it if you don't drop this subject. Lloyd, keep him under control, you're literally the one who leads us. Cole, keep my brother away from flirting with poor, innocent girls. Zane... be yourself, you don't need any warnings."
With that being said, she turned on her heel and started to walk away.
Then she heard her brother scream after her, "Why doesn't Jay get scolded?!"
"Because he's my favorite!"
After she walked away and Jay couldn't see her anymore, he turned around to look at the others with a smirk evident on his face which was greeted by Kai's glare.
"What is it, brother?" Jay asked, obviously amused.
Kai only ignored him and took a sip of his strawberry-vanilla milkshake. "How likely is it that Nya will kill me if I push him down some stairs?" he threw out into the room.
"She'd find many ways to get revenge, so I'd say I'm a hundred percent positive she'll come for you when you least expect it," Cole answered, patting his shoulder in mock-pity.
Kai scoffed. "I wouldn't say so."
"Have you ever met her?" Cole stared at him, unamused.
"Oh, my gosh! It's really him!" an unknown voice cheered, accompanied by an overly obnoxious fit of giggles.
Since the voice came from behind Jay, and after seeing his friends looking behind him in a weird way, Jay slowly turned around with the straw of his peach-banana milkshake still in his mouth and the drink in both of his hands.
Once he turned around fully, he came face to face with a pretty good view of a girl's cleavage which made his eyes immediately shoot up to the person's face to try to get rid of the image in his mind.
The girl, about the same age as him, was smiling down at him, since he was sitting and she was standing, and looked at him through her long lashes. She was wearing a skin-tight, white crop top which allowed other people a big view of her cleavage. Along with that, she was wearing a beige-colored mini skirt with white high heels that made her perfectly shaved legs stand out.
She flicked her long, strawberry-blonde hair out of her face and grinned at him. "Hi! I'm Ashley!" she beamed, holding her hand out for him.
Jay threw the others a quick side glance to see Kai and Lloyd scowling at the girl, Cole looking slightly amused by the current situation, and Zane smiling politely at her.
Jay reluctantly reached out to shake her hand, but left his hand abandoned midair when she brought her hand up to his bicep and squeezed.
She gasped. "So the rumors are true."
He shook her hand off. "And what rumors are those?" he asked, unsure of if he actually wanted to hear the answer.
"That your arms are buffer than... than..." Ashley repeated, although she was at a loss for words. "...than anyone else's!" she exclaimed.
Although he could hear Cole's snort from behind him, Jay tried to keep a straight face as he looked at her. "Thank you," he said dryly. "Now if you'll excuse us-"
"Can I call you Jay, or do I have to say Mr Walker?" Ashley asked, twirling a strand of her hair between her fingers.
That caused Cole to burst out laughing. Even though he saw the glare Jay sent his way, he couldn't stop himself and wiped an imaginary tear away. "Are you trying to flirt with him?" he asked bluntly.
Ashley blinked. "I was only asking, because-"
"You do know he has a girlfriend?" Kai mentioned, crossing his arms above his chest.
The girl scoffed, looking around the table. "I don't see her."
She glanced at each of them as soon as the words left her bright red lips, seeing them collectively looking at something behind her.
"Turn around."
Ashley's eyes widened for a second before she kept her composure and turned around slowly to be met with an unamused-looking Nya.
"Now you see her."
There was a chorus of 'ohhh's coming from the table. Nya's hands were in the pockets of her black fake-leather jacket as she looked at the other girl lazily.
"Can I help you?" Ashley asked rudely, making Nya's eyebrow slowly rise at her attitude.
"Shouldn't I be the one asking that after seeing you putting your fake claws on my man's arm?" Nya glanced down at the girl's long, bright pink finger nails that reminded her of Wolverine's claws.
Ashley scoffed, crossing her arms beneath her chest and flicking her hair out of her face. "What are you gonna do about it?"
Nya's lips slowly curled up into a smile which the boys quickly recognized to be more than mischievous. They gave each other worried glances before looking back at the two women.
Suddenly, Nya took a step closer to Ashley and grabbed her forearm to pull her face closer to her own. She brought her lips near her ear and looked at her family while whispering something into the now-shaking woman's ear.
The boys looked back at Nya with wide eyes, horrified of what she might be saying to Ashley. They couldn't hear anything over the loud music, but they were sure it wasn't anything pleasant.
When Nya was done, she let go of Ashley's forearm and let her retreat out of Laughy's in a quick pace. Then, with a small smirk on her face, Nya followed her out.
The boys' eyes were glued onto Nya's back until she was out of sight. After she was gone, they slowly went back to looking at each other.
"Are we just going to ignore the fact that she might be murdering that girl right now?" Cole broke the silence.
"She's my sister, so I'm going to have to help hiding the body now," Kai said with a sigh. Everyone except for Jay laughed at his remark.
The Blue Ninja was looking down at his milkshake as he kept repeating the same two words in his mind which caused his cheeks to blush faintly.
My man. My man. My man. My man. My ma-
"Jay!" Kai yelled, causing Jay to break out of his trance and look back at him. However, Jay realized that the attention of all of them was directed at him.
He cleared his throat. "Yes?"
"We were asking you if Nya would use strangulation or her powers, but it seems like you have something else on your mind," Lloyd said, smirking.
"Oh, uh," Jay blinked. "I don't know, she-"
"You were thinking back at how she called you her man, didn't you?" Cole said with an understanding smile.
That caused Jay to blush and look down. He couldn't contain the smile forming on his lips. "It feels good, you know," he murmured.
His best friend laughed, smacking his shoulder playfully. Before he could say anything, he looked behind Jay to see Nya walking into their direction. Alone.
Now that Cole was watching her, the others looked at her as well. All eyes were glued onto her as she strutted — yes, strutted — up to their table.
Once she was there, she ignored her own, empty chair, and looked at Jay. He quickly recognized the look on her face and leaned back into his chair.
Nya then, without a care in the world, took a seat on his lap and grabbed her milkshake and took a few sips as Jay's arms immediately snaked around her waist. They both seemed to ignore the shocked and amused looks the others were giving them.
"So," Jay began, resting his chin on her shoulder and tightening his hold on her. "What happened to Ashley?"
Nya brought the straw out of her mouth again. "Ah, so that's her name," she acknowledged. Then she shrugged. "I told her I'd show her someone who's more attractive than Jay," she said dismissively.
Jay raised his eyebrows. "Is that so?"
Nya hummed in agreement.
"And who would that be?" her Yin asked carefully.
The Water Ninja put her milkshake back onto the table before she reached into the pocket of her jacket and pulled out her phone. She unlocked it, feeling the curious eyes of her family, and scrolled through her gallery until she found the picture she was looking for.
After finding it, she turned on the brightness and turned her phone around for the others to see.
They stayed silent for a few seconds before they all erupted in laughter. Nya held a victorious smirk as she took another sip of her drink.
"And you showed her that?!" Kai asked once he regained his breath.
"Yup, I even gave her his number."
"H-How does that ev-even work?" Jay asked, his body still shaking from his laughter.
Nya only shrugged. "Don't know, don't care. All I know is that she bought it and left."
"No!" her boyfriend gasped before he started laughing once again.
She grinned. "Uh-huh."
"She actually fell for that!" Cole exclaimed, wiping his now-real tears away.
"You know, I've always known that if I was born a man, I'd be more attractive than all of you. And I guess that Ashley girl was the best proof I could've gotten."
"The power of filters, man," Kai sighed, rubbing his eyes. "So you didn't attack her?"
"Nope, I felt like she wasn't bright enough to defend herself, so it'd be useless to start something."
After answering, Nya went back to slurping up her milkshake when she looked to her side to see Cole smirking at her.
She raised an eyebrow. "What?"
"I think that was the first time I've actually seen you get jealous with all of us around."
Nya choked on her drink and took a few deep breaths to calm her breathing before looking back at him. "I wasn't jealous."
"Of course, and I'm the First Spinjitzu Master."
She shot him a glare. "I was not jealous."
"You were so jelly, sis," Kai smirked.
Nya's eye started twitching. "Do all of you think I was jealous?" She looked around to see them all smirking at her, Jay included. She slumped back against her boyfriend's chest with a huff.
Then she felt his arms tightening again as he moved his lips close to her ear.
"Don't worry, I'll be the peanut butter to your jelly."
