"Good morning." A cheerful voice shouted.

"Jay, how can you always be this motivated every morning?!" Kai asked the Blue Ninja.

Kai and Cole were the first ones to wake up that day. They simply just set a wrong alarm clock for like twenty minutes earlier than required and were now sitting in the living room.

"I don't know." Jay just shrugged it off. "I feel like this day's gonna be a good one. I can feel it." He said cheerfully while placing himself on the couch right next to Kai.

"Yeah, you're right." Kai agreed. "It's Zane's turn to make breakfast today."

This is when Cole interfered. "Hey, don't tell me you didn't like my sushi rolls I made yesterday!"

Jay and Kai looked at each other. Then, Kai spoke up. "Cole, buddy. We're not saying your cooking is bad-"

"Yes, we are." Jay interrupted.

Kai just gave Jay a death glare, then he continued. "We're just saying that sushi rolls aren't really... your thing." Kai tried to keep it as painless as possible.

Cole let out a loud and fake sigh. "I know," Then he looked both of his friends in the eyes, smiling sheepishly. "But I could ask Lloyd to switch turns with me for dinner today."

Kai and Jay's eyes filled with fear. They looked at each other, begging the other one to say something, but of course no one spoke up. Cole laughed. "I was just kidding."

The two frightened Ninja let out a breath they were both holding in.

Then suddenly, they heard footsteps approaching them. All three looked at the door, only to see a very sleepy Water Ninja wrapped up in a thick blanket.

"Looks like someone's still sleepy." Kai said smilingly.

After her brother's remark, Nya looked at the couches to see her friend, her brother, and her boyfriend all staring at her with smiles on their faces. She sighed. "Morning." Then she went over to one of the cupboards in the room, opened it, took out a blue mug, and poured in some coffee. Then, she commanded some water from out of her hand to get into the mug. After that, she walked over to her brother.

She held out the mug to him. "Could you heat this up, please?" She asked sleepily.

"Of course." Her brother took the mug and warmed it up in his hands.

"You look like you haven't slept in ages, Nya." Jay stated.

She looked at him. "I guess I just couldn't get enough sleep."

"Here." Kai said while handing her the mug. It was pretty warm, but not too warm to burn her taste buds off.

She thanked him and plopped onto the couch next to her boyfriend. After taking a few sips, she put the mug on the coffee table.

"Are you sure you're alright?" Cole asked worriedly.

"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" Nya asked back.

"First, you usually don't wake up this early, let alone go to bed late. Second, you've not even changed into your gi, you're wrapped in a giant blanket. And third," Jay put his hand on her forehead. "You're burning hot. And I don't even mean it romantically this time."

She took a quick glance at him, then back at the mug she put down. "Jay, I'm fine." She muttered.

"Sis, are you sure?" Kai knelt down in front of her, blocking her vision from the mug. "You don't really look like you're fine." He stated carefully, he didn't want to make her upset.

"I'll get Zane." Cole called out and walked out of the room.

"Cole, you don't have to-" Nya wanted to shout back, but she couldn't finish her sentence because she started to cough into her elbow like crazy.

Jay and Kai gave each other a worried look before looking back at Nya. "I think it's best for you to lay down." Jay stated carefully, taking her hand in the process.

She first looked at her taken hand, then at the owner of the hand, then at her brother. "Guys, I'm fine, really. You don't have to worry, it's probably just a bad day, that's all."

The boys were prepared to have a little argument with her, because it's always been the same with Nya whenever she got sick: it was always 'I'm fine' and 'don't worry', but in the end they had to bring her to the ER if they hadn't taken good care of her because she said she was fine.

But before one of them could respond to her, Cole came back marching into the room with Zane right behind him. "Alright, I've heard that Nya isn't feeling well." Zane said while walking up to her.

"Could you please scan her?" Jay asked him.

Zane nodded and soon, a light blue beam came out of his eyes, scanning Nya up and down.

"I really don't need this." Nya stated, unamused, and tried to stand up to go away but was pushed back down by her brother.

"Sis, come on. Just another minute and you're good to go."

After around ten seconds, Zane's beam stopped and dissolved. "It occurs to me that you have a cold. It is better for you to get some rest. I will tell Master Wu, so you can have the day off."

Nya groaned. "But Zane, I'm not-"

"No, Nya. Do you really wanna go back to the ER because you don't want to let us take care of you?" Jay asked a little bit too strictly.

She looked at him, unamused. Then, Zane spoke up again. "You can go now, we'll bring you some breakfast to bed."

After Nya looked at all four boys individually and seeing their unamused faces as well, she gave up. "Fine, I'll go." She sighed. Then she stood up and walked out of the room slowly, wrapping her blanket even tighter to her skin.

Zane looked at Cole. "I'm going to go back to making breakfast. Do you want to assist me?"

"Sure." Cole answered. Then he walked away with Zane.

"NO!" Jay and Kai screamed in sync, running after the other two into the kitchen.

"Could you please wake Lloyd, Pix and Master Wu up, Cole?" Zane asked while stirring the soup for Nya.

Cole nodded and headed out of the kitchen. Zane had already set the dining table and was making a pumpkin soup for Nya. Of course she wasn't allowed to get out of bed, so she would have to have breakfast in bed.

Then Jay walked up behind Zane. "Is it done?" He asked.

"Yes, actually. Would you please-"

"Bring it to Nya? You bet!" With that being said, Zane looked at Jay and just poured the soup from the pot into a bowl.

Jay took the bowl and a spoon and walked out of the kitchen quite fast. Taking huge steps, he headed towards his girlfriend's bedroom. He balanced the bowl in one hand and knocked twice with the other. After only a few seconds, he heard a familiar voice calling for him to come in.

He opened the door and took a peak inside. Nya was sitting upright on her bed, leaning against the frame, looking at him sleepily but also smilingly. "Why are you sitting?" He asked while walking over to her bed.

"I couldn't sleep." She answered calmly.

"Alright. Zane's made you some pumpkin soup." Jay showed her the bowl before pulling her bed table towards them. He put the bowl down and took the spoon. He then dipped it in the soup and was about to lead it to her mouth when-

"Jay, I can still eat on my own." She giggled.

"Hey, it's my time to take care of you. And it's the whole menu of treatment I'm gonna serve." He finally lead it to her mouth, the spoon was very close to her closed lips.

She looked at the spoon, then at her impatient, smiling boyfriend, and then back at the spoon. She sighed. "Fine, but just-" She was cut off by Jay who just put the spoon into her mouth.

Nya swallowed it. "Great, you got to shove it in my mouth, now I can eat on my own." She wanted to grab the spoon, but he backed away.

Jay did not speak, but the look on his face said 'no'. Then he chuckled. "Come on, just relax and let your boyfriend feed you."

She looked at him, unamused. "Jay..."

After he realized it took more than just charm, Jay used another tactic. "Pleaaaaaase." He stretched out while making the most innocent puppy eyes ever.

Nya frowned. She tried her best not to break, but Jay's puppy eyes were one of the few exceptions she'd ever accept. It's just too cute for her to handle. "Fine, but this stays between us." She pointed at the bowl and the spoon in his hand.

"Deal." He was happy.

She scooted closer to him and readied herself for the next few spoons full of pumpkin soup which were served to her with a decent amount of time interval since the soup was still hot.

"When you go back, please tell Zane I thank him and that the soup is delicious." She told her Yin after swallowing yet another spoon full of soup. It was pretty hot, but bearable.

"Will do." He answered her.

After many more feedings, she felt like it was enough for her. "I'm full." She said, although the bowl was still half full.

Jay looked into the bowl. "But Nya, there's still much more." He did not want to accept it that quickly.

"I know, but I can't eat much more." She protested.

Seeing that he had no chance, Jay gave up, but did not want to accept his defeat that easily. "Fine, but you'll eat later again." He said sternly.

"Okay."

"Good."

Jay put the spoon into the bowl. "You sure you can't sleep?" He asked once again because he had an idea in his head as to what they could do but he didn't want to keep her from sleeping if she wanted to.

She nodded. "What do you have in mind?" She asked, already knowing he wanted to do something.

"Well, you wanna cuddle while watching a movie?" He smiled.

"Yes." She answered without a second thought. She could never say 'no' to cuddles, ever.

His smile grew wider. "I'll bring this back into the kitchen," He pointed at the bowl. "And then I'll come back with my laptop."

"Okay, but hurry." She made herself comfortable in bed again, but still sitting.

He smirked. "I'm the Master of Lightning, you know. I'm always fast." Then he exited the room with the bowl.

After about a minute, Nya heard a knock again. "You know you don't have to knock a second time, Jay." She laughed.

The door creaked open, revealing the Lightning Ninja with a laptop in his hands. The laptop had a blue cover and a yellow lightning bolt sticker right in the middle. He smiled.

After he closed the door behind him, he walked up to Nya's bed. She had already made some space for him to sit next to her.

He happily sat down very close to her and pulled the sheets up to their stomachs. Then he put the laptop on top of his laps and opened Netflix. "What do you wanna watch?" He asked excitedly.

"I don't really care." She said dreamily while she snuggled into his chest. He had a huge smile as he wrapped his arm around her, taking her into a side hug. They were pretty close to each other which both of them enjoyed very much.

"Can we watch Starfarer?" Jay asked his Yang.

"Of course." She answered. It seemed like she didn't care, all she was focusing on was his warmth.

Jay put on his favorite movie and relaxed his back. After about ten minutes in, both of them were already asleep against each other, both having small smiles on their faces.

In my HC, Jay hates his birth father for leaving him without a reason, but still enjoys his movies🤚🏻
