Little Memories
This story contains some dirty jokes👀.
Here they were, sitting on his blue bed, looking at old photos at a cozy, rainy evening.
"Oh my gosh, you look adorable!" Nya laughed as she inspected a photo of Jay on his eighth birthday when he was wearing a green dinosaur costume for some reason. On the photo, he was screaming at the camera, showing that some of his front milk teeth were out. Jay's eyes widened when he realized which photo she was referring to and quickly pulled it out of her grasp. "Where did you find that?" He asked as he stuffed it deep down into his back pocket, blushing.
"The same place I found this." She grinned, showing him another photo of when he was a child. On that one, he was behind a huge, blue cotton candy ball. Only his eyes and smooth hair were visible of him, and his eyes were glistening in mischief as he was inspecting one of his favorite types of candies.
Jay's blush increased in redness as he grabbed the photo and stuffed it into his pocket where the other one was, bending both of them unintentionally. "Enough of that!" He protested.
Then he rummaged around in his box. It was a small, blue box full of old photos and memories of his past which Nya randomly found under his bed after she accidentally fell down from it while they were cuddling.
That's how they decided to look into it together. Jay himself hadn't looked into it in a long time, mainly because he had forgotten it still existed.
Jay hummed, focused, while looking for a specific photo he knew had to be in the box. After a very short while, he found it and held it up in the air like a trophy.
Nya giggled quietly at his antics. "What is it?"
Jay slowly pulled his arm back down, slightly blushing while handing it to her. "Here."
His girlfriend took the photo in her hands, immediately recognizing the exact event. Her backless dress, his black suit and gelled hair, everything.
She smiled. "This was shot right before we went on our first date." The Master of Water mostly said to herself, not taking her eyes off the picture.
"Mhm," Jay nodded, bending over her to look at it as well. "and considering how it went, this picture looks as if nothing ever happened."
Nya elbowed him playfully, smiling. "Yeah, well, this was taken before you fully turned into a snake and the Serpentine swarmed the amusement park."
Jay rolled his eyes, laughing. "Oh please, I just wanted to be reminded of that." He said sarcastically.
"Having two tails wasn't enough, eh?" She smirked.
His face immediately went red. "Since when have you put such dirty things in your mouth, Miss Smith, soon-to-be Walker?"
Nya snorted. "I've had dirtier things in my mo-"
"Okay, that's enough of that, thank you!" Jay held her mouth shut with his hand, making her lean into his chest while both started laughing.
After the laughter died down, he removed his hand from her mouth, though she was still tightly in his embrace.
"I thought you could never get enough of me?" She smirked, looking up at him.
He looked down at her. "I never denied that." Jay said quietly, almost whispering, before he leaned down and kissed Nya's forehead.
Nya's face scrunched up at the sudden contact with his lips on her forehead as she let out an uncharacteristic little squeak.
Jay drew his face back, raising an eyebrow. "Have you been possessed by a dirty minded toddler or something?" He laughed.
"Am I that different from usual?" She asked, raising an eyebrow as well.
Jay nodded, making his Yang sigh.
"My hormones must be going crazy inside of me right now." Nya rolled her eyes to herself, groaning.
The Lightning Ninja leaned back down to his girl, whispering into her ear. "Is it your period?" He asked casually.
The two had come so far in their relationship that they both weren't that embarrassed about sensitive topics such as periods anymore.
Nya nodded.
"Are you in pain?" He asked, holding her protectively.
"Not right now, no." She answered.
Jay kissed her cheek. "That's good."
She smiled at his kindness, feeling as if she had won the lottery. And many people, aka his fangirls, were seeing it just like her.
He sighed happily, looking back at the box. "Wait a minute." He murmured, leaning a bit forward with Nya still in his hands to grab the lid of the box.
Right inside of the lid was another picture which both recognized right away.
"Oh my gosh..." Nya looked at the picture in his hand and smiled.
It was a photo of both of them at the party the team had thrown after they had defeated the Oni. But the actual purpose of the party was to celebrate the newly proposed Yin and Yang couple. The two lovebirds were in each other's arms, smiling friendly at the camera while their pendants were hung on their chests, clearly visible on the picture.
"Only one month left..." Jay remarked, feeling his insides do jumping jacks.
Nya looked at him, an eyebrow raised. "For what?"
Jay's whole posture stiffened, eyes wide and seemingly filled with hurt.
After a few more seconds of silently staring at each other, she let out a laugh. "Oh come on, as if I'll forget about our anniversary. Puh-lease, I'm not that bad of a girlfriend!" She told him, smacking him lightly.
Her Yin visibly relaxed, though he was still not satisfied with what she just said. "Did you just consider yourself a bad girlfriend?" He asked-warned.
"I said I wasn't that-"
"But you still meant that." He pouted. "Don't!" Then he booped her nose. "You're perfect!"
Nya couldn't help but blush at his comment. "Will you stop treating me like a child if I agree?"
He hummed. "Not quite, you need to be convinced yourself for me to let you pass, girlie!"
She gasped, almost scandalized. "What did you just call me?!"
"Girlie."
Nya took a deep breath, eyeing him. "You're lucky to be the dude I love, or else you would've been done for." She narrowed her eyes.
Jay smiled sheepishly. "I mean, I know that. That's why I use the boyfriend card a lot." He smirked.
His Yang opened her mouth, only to close it again. Not a single word leaving her mouth, she glared at him until she couldn't resist the smile that crept up on her face the longer she stared into his eyes.
"No idea how you do that, but stop!" She warned.
"Stop what?" Jay asked, knowing full well what she meant.
"...That!" Nya gestured towards his face, wiggling one hand free from his grasp.
Jay seemed to contemplate her warning, humming while looking at the ceiling, making his thinking seem more believable. She knew it was fake, though.
Then he looked back at her. "No." He simply stated.
One of her eyes twitched. "How dare you?!"
"I dare while I dare."
"I- what?" She raised an eyebrow at his comeback.
But Jay just shrugged. "No idea, to be honest. It just left my mouth." He answered honestly.
"Nya, Jay, dinner is ready and please don't start to make out, thank you."
Both of their heads whipped towards the door to see Kai smirking while leaning against the doorframe, crossing his arms.
Nya groaned. "Do you have to do that?"
"Do what?" Kai asked, knowing exactly what she was talking about.
She narrowed her eyes, turning her head back and forth between her brother and her boyfriend, trying to give both of them glares. "Have you teamed up against me or something?"
Kai and Jay let out nervous laughs.
"We would never." Jay answered. Kai nodded in agreement.
"Mhmmm." She said suspiciously.
Then she leaned back forward to grab the box again. "Oh Kai, that reminds me." She started, rummaging through the box.
"What?" Kai asked, stepping inside and stopping in front of the bed, watching her every movement.
"Here." Nya said, giving him a picture which he took and started to inspect more precisely.
On the picture, Jay was in the front, holding out his half of the Yin-Yang pendant, whereas Kai was jumping in the air in the background, having a huge smile on his face. It was also taken at the party.
"So?" Kai asked, raising an eyebrow.
Nya got out of Jay's grasp completely and got off of the bed, walking up to the body length mirror attached to his wardrobe door. She pulled her hair tie out and took Jay's hair brush and started to brush her hair.
She turned around, facing both of the boys while casually brushing her hair. "You guys can't tell me you're not excited to become brothers-in-law."
"I- What- No! I mean... maybe just a little bit, but no." Kai sputtered.
Jay slowly turned his head towards the Master of Fire, his face expressionless. "So smooth."
"Nawww, you two have grown to each other!" She turned back towards the mirror to look at what she was doing. "I can still remember how you treated each other in the early days of our relationship." She laughed.
"Well, if you mean chasing me with a fire sword around the Bounty while screaming 'GET OVER HERE, WALKER!', then yes. It's a wonderful memory." Jay smiled at Kai who was red by now.
"In my defense, it took me a little while to get used to this." Kai retorted, gesturing between the couple.
Nya turned around, the arm with the brush in her hand dangling on her side. She looked at him, unamused. Kai then looked at Jay who was looking at him just like his sister was.
He sighed. "Fine, maybe it was a long while. But you know I just-"
"You just want to protect me and not for me to get hurt. And you also only want what's best for me, I know." Nya chuckled. "I get reminded of that a lot."
Kai smiled, handing Jay the picture. "Alright, the others are probably waiting for us now. Let's go!" He said, exiting the room.
After the door was closed, Nya put the brush down, grabbing the hair tie again.
"You should totally leave your hair down." Jay said, making his way over to her.
He hugged her from behind, wrapping his arms around her waist and resting his head on her shoulder, looking into both of their reflections.
"You really think so? I mean, I don't know. It's quite longer now, you know." She said, wrapping the tie around her right wrist.
"Mhm." He replied. "Just for once."
"But-"
"For me?" Jay pouted, looking at her through the mirror with puppy eyes.
Nya glared at his reflection. "Screw those eyes." Then she sighed. "Fine, but only once."
He smirked. "I always win."
