Chapter 40: The True Enemy

(The scene opens in a cave adorned with stone statues. The camera pans down to show various human-like figures, who are in fact the Shinkengers. Jaune begins a narration.)

Jaune: Three hundred years ago, the Gedoshu, led by their powerful general, Dokoku, laid siege on Japan.

(The camera finishes it's pan down, revealing Dodoku cowering before five of the Shinkengers, who's statues tower over him. The scene cuts to a shot of a chain, and the camera pans up to show the Gedoahu imprisoned in them amongst stone deciptions of hellish scenery.)

Jaune: The previous generation of Shinkengers stopped Dokoku. Banished him up to the Sanzu River.

(The shot fades into another, a slow pan over a stone Fortress and the figure who's Earth's hero turned oppressor.)

Jaune: Others followed in Dodoku's footsteps, like the earth's hero turned oppressor Kal-El or Superman, who was obsessed with conquering Earth and eliminate anyone standing in his way.

(Cut to a shot of a Batman statue, poised to fight, with his fellow insurgents behind him. On opposite sides of the logo stand statues of Black Adam and Wonder Woman.

Jaune: So my father-in-law convinced himself that he must found a group to try to even the odds... have a fighting chance.

(The camera pans past Batman to center on Gotham City, then it fades into a shot of Solomon Grundy dueling Shinken Blue, before circling around a deciption of Shinken Red facing three Regime Soldiers at once.)

Jaune: For years, No rules seem to have been followed any longer.  The war moved to Gotham and Metropolis, where Superman sent his toughest fighters to destroy the greatest cities so he would silence people.

(The camera pans over to Shinken Red slashing Superman in the chest, with background noise of the fight sounding out over Jaune's narration.

Jaune: Two years ago, we beat him.

(In the Fortress of Solitude, Shinken Red's final blow of the bout is heard, as is Superman's angry scream.)

Jaune: But Superman wasn't ready to lose.

(Cut to another shot of statues, this one showing Brainiac's betas attacking Earth's innocent citizens. The screams and sounds of slaughter are once again heard in the background.)

Jaune: He wanted to defeat Brainiac by himself and restore his government.

(Fade in to a deciption of Superman being sent to the Phantom Zone without his powers and without any family left.)

Jaune: Despite Superman's defeat, new threats have risen. Cinder's faction, Apocalypse, Atlas.

(Fade into the statue of Apocalypse, now ensnared and being hit by the combined attacks of Shinken Red,  Kamen Rider Build and Kamen Rider Decade. His horsemen fall to his side and out of frame. The statue begins to crumble into pieces.)

Jaune: Despite the odds, we stopped Apocalypse and his horsemen. Magneto and Storm, who were among them, redeemed themselves.

(As the camera pans up to Apocalypse's face, we hear one last cry of defeat from him as his statue completely falls apart. The camera cuts to and circles around another statue, this one holding a familiar looking amulet with an emerald at it's centre.)

Jaune: But there's something we didn't even know about. It turns out that Dokoku and the Gedoshu had been manipulating events.

(The camera finishes panning up to Dodoku's face, and also shows a statue of Manpuku over his shoulder.)

Jaune: Superman, Brainiac,  Apocalypse... all part of Dokoku's plan to escape the Sanzu River and resume his war on mankind.

(The camera slowly zooms into Dokoku's face, and the statue's eyes begin to glow with an unholy fire, turning from red to yellow and finally white. As they do so, the screen fades to white as well. It fades into Kyoto, Japan devestated by war. A dead soldier falls on his front, an ugly gaping hole where his face should be. Others run past his body, and suddenly a large flying beast that resembles a gargoyle grabs one of these soldiers, lifts him into the air and drops him. Another soldier is tackled into the concrete by a demon moving almost too fast to see. Several other soldiers meet the same fate. One soldier pauses long enough to open fire at the flying beasts with his assault rifle. He gains nothing for his efforts except the ire of one beast who lands on a nearby overturned car. As he turns to it, the hellbeast lets out an unholy roar of terror and grabs the now-screaming soldier by his head, tearing it off his body. As the beast drops his head from it's toes and roams the evening sky, it is shot by high-powered bullets from a helicopter's gatling gun. The monster squeals and falls dead to the ground below as several helicopters fly towards the screen.)
