Australia
Hey lovelies, hope you're having a good day. Please check out my Hardik Pandya fan fiction. I'm sure you'll love it if you like this one, and especially for more funny cricket banter!!
JASPRIT'S POV:
We all boarded the flight. Beside me were Hardik and Bhuvi.
"Harry is everything okay?" Bhuvi asks Hardik as I am completely zoned out.
"No bhuvi." I say myself.
Me and Hardik begin telling him the story. He listens to it with a worried expression.
I think we should tell Virat, he may be able to do something.
I smile helplessly, "What, stop the flight? Go back to England?"
"Like perhaps the match could be postponed?" Bhuvi says.
I laugh at this. "What's that going to do?"
"I don't think you're in the best state to play. You aren't going to focus."
I know he's right, but I pretend to ignore him.
After many hours we finally touchdown.
"Gooday matee!!" Rohit imitates the Aussies.
I try and put Shanaya, the past week and everything behind me. This isn't some movie where we can ditch everything just to be together. Perhaps we were never meant to be in the first place.
I had a match, one of the most important of my career, a chance to prove myself further. There was nothing that could stop me.
💗
The next day it was a practice session. We were all out of the field practicing our fielding, batting and bowling.
I was still kind of lost and unable to concentrate as well.
I was now bowling to Virat.
"Arey yaar! Bumrah?!" Virat shouts as I'm looking elsewhere.
"Yes yes."
I still feel like something is happening.
"JASSI! JASSI!" I hear Hardik shout as he is running up to me.
"Harry what's wrong?" I run up to him.
"Bro..." He is panting, breathing heavily.
"Okay just breathe a min."
"Shanaya-"
I look at him as quick as lightning.
My heart seems to leap but in a more anxious way than in excitement.
"What about her, Harry?!" I put my hands on his shoulders and shake them.
"Go upstairs."
I drop the ball and do as he says, searching around the pavilion.
Suddenly a pair of arms grabs me from behind. I feel a head rest on my back.
I don't turn around just yet as I kind of hope it's Shanaya, but at the same time not to be her.
"Hey." Shanaya says, almost like she's out of breath.
"What on earth are you doing here?!"
"I took the next flight to Australia."
"Abhi?"
"Yeah, this morning."
"No no, what about Abhi"
"He went on the flight to India on his own." Shanaya giggled.
"But -"
"Shhh! Now that I've come so far to meet you at least you could pretend you're somewhat happy?!" She says, leaning in for a peck.
"Shan I don't know if you did the right thing." I looked down at my slightly chipped hands.
"So you're saying marrying Abhi is better than taking a flight to Australia?"
"Do your parents know?"
"Mum does."
At least one of her parents know, thank God.
"Please don't lecture me on all this sanskar and shit okay? I've had a really long flight."
"So where should we put you now?"
"Umm... we can stay in the same hotel room?" She says cheekily with her hands behind her back.
"Accha" I nod sarcastically with my hands on my hips.
She laughs. It's been ages since I heard that heart-warming, satisfying laugh. Australia seemed to be heaven; free from Abhi, her parents and everyone in England.
"Hardik must have told you about the whole situation right?"
"Yeah"
"Shefali told him everything. I didn't want her to but she did anyway. She's the only person apart from mum that knows I'm here."
"Hm..."
"Jas you seem dull. What's wrong? Not happy?"
"No baba, it's nothing like that. I'm just worried - for you. I don't think it's going to take them that long to find out about this."
"You don't worry. I've got my security guards with me."
I raise my eyebrows at the strong muscly men beside her.
"That's great. Anyway I have to finish practice. You can sit here and watch."
"Can I not come onto the pitch?"
"Er - sure... if you want-" before I could finish she was already skipping down the steps onto the field, meeting everyone.
"Shanaya!"
"Hey"
"I didn't know you were here"
"Hmm Bumrah ne bulaya hoga defo."
"Arey yaar now stop teasing them and get back to practice." Virat steps in and as captain, gets them back on track.
"Tomorrow's the match - oh and Shanaya, if you want you can sit there and watch or move to the side here, yeah just there next to Bhuvi because your boyfriend bowls very unpredictably. I'm sure he wouldn't want you to get hurt." Virat adds.
We all have a quick laugh before getting into cricket mode again.
