A/N: This story doesn't relate or have anything to do with Hide and Seek. Just saying in case some things don't make sense.

Emily P.O.V.

I pushed open the double-doors and walked through them. I eyed the scene in front of me. There were circular tables and students scattered everywhere. And right in the middle of the tables sat red, black, and white umbrellas opened, shading the tables from the fluorescent lights above. But I was searching for something--some one that was way more interesting. My baby, Jasper.

I looked and looked, but I didn't see him anywhere. Disappointed, I walked to the lunch line for breakfast. Pancakes with syrup and sausage is what was there. I grabbed my food and walked to my usual table to find my friends Helena and Violet, and my little brother, Caleb eating and laughing to each other. Once they saw me, their eyes lit up.

"Emily! There you are," Helena cried, throwing her arms in the air.

"Hey," Caleb smiled, then turned his attention back to his food.

"We thought you wouldn't be coming!" Violet said, as I sat down in between her and Helena. Caleb sat on the other side of Violet. Sometimes, I think he has a crush on Violet.

"What do you mean? It's 7:45 and the bell for 1st Period rings at 7:53," I said, smiling slightly.

"Oh, right," she said. We all laughed. After a few minutes of talking and laughing, the bell rang and everyone cleared out of the cafeteria in a loud, jumbled mess. We all grabbed our trash, threw it away, and followed everyone else.

Caleb walked with Violet to class, since they had the same first period. I walked alongside Helena as we arrived at our first period, Language Arts, Ms. Roberts.

"Hey, Emily?" Helena started. I looked at her, raised my eyebrows and hummed slightly to show her that she had my attention. "Have you noticed that Caleb and Violet have really been hitting it off?"

"Yes!" I said a little too loudly, catching the attention the attention of my peers. I pursed my lips and looked at Helena once more, trying to shake off the weird looks from my classmates...and Helena!

"Yeah," she said slowly, causing me to giggle. "Anyway, they would be perfect. But the thing is...Caleb is too shy. Too shy to even ask her to the arcade!" I nodded in agreement.

"Yeah," I started, "what we need to do first is get them closer. Then, we need to really find out if they like each other."

"Yeah. But isn't she into that Ryan guy?"

"Yea--" the bell rang and cut me off. Everyone sat down in their seats. I turned to Helena. "We figure it out at lunch." Ms. Roberts started taking attendance.

All the while, I thought about Jasper and where he was. He's never late to school. Where could he be? Is he sick? Why wouldn't he tell me? Or did he just come late?

Then, Jasper bursted in the room, with a girl hot on his heels.
