"Raise your hands. If you try anything, we will shoot him on the head" their leader ordered Eden as he had his gun pointing to her.

Eden dropped Shylock on the floor and slowly raised her hands.

He was standing in front of her as the two other men went closer to Ed and picked him up.

"... 5.... 4... 3... 2... 1..." Eden was counting down as a new connection was uploading data that she could clearly read through her lenses.

Ed's body started shaking once more as if he was being electrocuted and the two men who were holding him were electrocuted on the spot. All three fell down on the floor.

The leader turned his head for a second to find out what happened.

That second was all that she needed. She picked up her dagger and threw it to his face. She stood up and removed her dagger from his body. She took a closer look at their uniforms for any kind of identification. There was none.

Ed was mumbling. She put her dagger back to its place, she picked up Shylock from the floor and helped Ed stand back on his feet.

"We can't stay here any longer. There will be more men coming soon." She told him as she was picking up the box from the floor as well. "We have to leave; now."

Ed seemed to be disorientated still. Eden grabbed him and pushed him towards the door.

"I know that it's too much for you but we must go so get your shit together! We run now, you shout to me later. That's the deal." They were both out at the hallway. Eden ran to the stairs while Ed stood still staring at her. She vanished and she was running away from the apartment. Ed put his back against the wall, bent his knees and sat on the floor. Eden showed up again almost run out of breath. She got down on her knees and looked Ed into his eyes.

"Ed, are you still with me?"

Ed looked at her.

"Ed suffers no more. He is hibernating. I needed his body. I am grateful to you for making it possible for me."

Eden punched him as hard as possible.

"Let's hope that a manual reboot will be enough." She hardly felt sorry for Ed having an extremely bad day since her survival instinct prevailed. Ed threw her on the floor and got up.

"I told you Ed has left the building. Next time you are going to try to attack me; I will wipe out his entire memory." He passed by her and headed to the stairs.

"Jim..." Eden said "don't you know that it's unforgivably impolite to leave a place without a formal goodbye?"

He stopped walking and turned around. Eden was holding her dagger against her bridge.

"You want Janus. I want Ed back. If you try to leave me here or harm Ed in any way, I will smash my bridge. In that case, Janus dies. The choice is yours. Wash your sins not only your face. You changed your face but you still carry your own sins. Make your choice. I made mine." She cut her skin revealing her modified bridge.

"If you harm her, I will send Ed to an everlasting limbo. Are you ready to live with that as you last memory?" He asked her standing in front of her.

"Yes, I am." Eden placing the dagger on top of her bridge.

Ed hit her so hard that she fainted. A group of armed men appeared behind him and took Eden.

"Take her back and keep her sedated for your own safety. I will come for her." He said and left the building.
