Chapter 5
"All right!" Jesse said, adjusting Michelle's diaper.
"And the diaper is...ON!" Joey announced, lifting Michelle in the air. Janie, who sat in the rocking chair not too far away, clapped for them.
"Good job, boys!" She cheered. Both men gave a bow, Joey bowing with Michelle.
"Thank you, lady!" Jesse called to her. "And that leaves our record at 17 minutes. Beating our old record by 37 minutes!" Then the boys turned to each other.
"Baby wipe." They each took a wipe and wiped their hands off, when Joey turned Jesse and Janie.
"Hold it. I'm about to make a quantum leap in diaper theory."
"Go with it,go with it." Jessie told him. Joey picked up two more diapers.
"If we triple the diaper,we get three times the protection, but we change her one third as often." Janie shook her head.
"I don't think-" but Jesse interrupted her.
"Loving it, loving it. We get two diapers and Michelle Tanner, come on down." Janie had to laugh at her baby sister wearing three diapers, two of which were not adjusted.
"The other way to go is to tie a hefty bag around her waist. That way we'd only have to change her on trash day." Joey told them. Janie nodded sarcastically.
"Oh yeah! Then she cries for the rest of the week and no one gets any sleep!" Jesse and Joey exchanged looks, then nodded in agreement. She had a point. Then Jesse turned to the baby.
"Jr. Jammy time. Ha!" They then picked out out an outfit and held it up to Michelle.
"It's you!" Joey told her as Jesse tried to get her into the outfit.
"All right. We go. We put the leg in...like....so...simply...uh...we tie...like this...very nice." Janie shook her head as Jesse tied the legs around Michelle's middle, unable to get it around her legs.
"Wow! Snagging a plan. I suggest something else." Joey pulled out a second outfit. "We go with the lovely two piece ensemble from baby Almani."
"Using your head, using your head. All right. here you go." Jesse told him, helping work the second outfit on.
"Oh yuppie, baby."
"Oh,this is great."
"TADA!!!" They held her up, and Janie shook her head at Michelle's appearance.
"Boys, I must give you an applause, but I think I'll take it from here before Dad sees her." Jesse scoffed.
"Oh yeah! Now that all the work is done." But he handed Michelle over to Janie and kissed her cheek. "Good night, Michelle."
"Good night, Uncle Jesse. Next time you see me, I'll have a big surprise for you. I don't care how many diapers I have on. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha." Janie snickered, and Jesse gave Joey a look from where he stood behind Janie, imitating a baby voice.
Janie pushed him away. "Go to bed!" The two men left, and she gave Michelle a look. "You really are a good sport." She told her as she set Michelle on the changing table and went to work dressing her properly, just as Danny walked in and sighed.
"I see Joey and Uncle Jesse decided to dress her." Janie bumped her hip against him.
"Go away! I can take care of Michelle!" Danny chuckled, but he left to allow Janie to take off the extra diapers and put Michelle in a baby nightgown, before laying her down with a stuffed bear and a teething ring, then leaving her to fall asleep, just as Joey crawled by, making train noises with Stephanie on his back. Janie shook her head, but followed the two into Stephanie and DJ's room, where DJ sat in bed already, looking cross.
"Next stop...Stephanie's bed." Joey announced, and Stephanie crawled into bed, smiling at Joey.
"Thank you, sandman express." Joey stood up, stretching a bit.
"And the sandman express runs every night."
"If I get on now, you'll drop me off at the nearest hotel?" DJ groaned as Danny and Jesse walked in.
"Okay , lets say goodnight." Danny told them, and he, Joey, and Janie all went around for hugs, while Jesse just gave a wave to them.
"Alright, goodnight Jr babes." But Stephanie sat up.
"Uncle Jesse, tell us a bedtime story."
"Uncle Jesse doesn't not know any bedtime stories." He retorted.
"Yes he does." Stephanie contradicted.
"No he doesn't."
"Yes he does."
"No he doesn't." Jesse told her this sternly, but Stephanie began to rub her eyes pretending to cry.
"Yes he doesssssss." Jesse threw up his hand.
"I'll make one up!"
"Yeeeeahhhhh!!!" Stephanie cheered, running over to DJ's bed and crawling in with her while Jesse waved his hand to the other adults and Janie.
"Alright fellows, Jane, help me out here."
"We'll make it to a game." Joey suggested as they all crouched beside DJ's bed. "Steph, you start the story and you girls point to us when you want someone else to take over." Stephanie nodded eagerly.
"Ok.Once upon a time there was a pretty girl named Cinderella." Then she pointed to Danny. "Daddy." Danny, caught by surprise, did his best.
"And uh..Cinderella wanted to go to this big fancy ball. On the way she wandered into this cabin, and she fell asleep in papa bear's bed." Stephanie scrunched up her face.
"I don't think so." But Danny was determined to try.
"No wait honey, it gets better. She is on the bed, out like a light. When all of a sudden...." Stephanie suddenly made a buzzer noise.
"Janie!" Janie jumped, but she went for it.
"Ah, um, she was startled, by her fairy godmother! And the fairy godmother said, "I'm going to make you a beautiful dress, so that you can get the most handsome man at the ball!" Then Stephanie made the buzzer noise again.
"Joey!"
"Oh, well, after Cinderella got her dress, she was real thirsty. So she went to a Seven-Eleven and got a Slurpee where...she ran into Bullwinkle. Bullwinkle said,"Hello Cinderella. Would you like to come to the ball with me? Not only am I a great dancer but you can hang your coat on my antlers." As he said this, he made his hands look like antlers, and impersonated Bullwinkle. "So..." This time, DJ made the buzzer noise.
"Uncle Jesse!" Jesse sighed.
"So Cinderella and Bullwinkle, they get married right. They go on the Newly Wed Game. And they win a grand prize selected especially for them. The End. Good night." The he tried to leave, but Stephanie made the buzzer noise again.
"Daddy."
"Until the big bad wolf came on them. And he said "Open up,or I'll huff, and I'll puff, and I'll blow you're house down. And I can do it to because as we all know wolves have an amazing lung capacity." Buzzer noise from Stephanie.
"Janie!"
"With the prize money they had won from the game show, they were able to build a new house in a much nicer place, thanks to their good friend the wolf, who felt bad about it." Buzzer noise from Stephanie again.
"Joey!"
"Hhhhhhuuu!!" Was all he said before DJ made the noise.
"Uncle Jesse!" Jesse sighed again.
"So the wolf, the moose, and the babe, they all fell in love right. They move to Sweden where the people are a lot more cool about sort of things. And that's the end of the story. Good night and good bye." DJ shuddered.
"No monsters, no witches, but that story was very scary." Janie tousled her hair, and Danny kissed them both on the forehead.
"Okay sweetheart. It's time to go to bed."
"Can I ask one more favor?" Stephanie asked, and Danny nodded.
"Sure honey. What is it?" Stephanie went to her bookshelf and took out a pile of books, then gave them to Danny, before going to her bed under the covers.
"Study these story books. We'll talk about them in the morning." Danny chuckled and turned to the other three.
"Okay. Who wants Puddle Duck and the Quack-Quack Gang?"
"Read it!"
(So, so SO sorry this took so long! I went on a huge writers block for this story, but I'm back, and hoping to work on this more! Again, so sorry!)
