Jangled! Part 6
Author's Note: Part 6 with a brief Joe and Cleo. Along with the meanwhile. We now get to confront Jangler once and for all.
((I also like how happy this story is in comparison to my other two stories))

(during the events of chapter 5)
Jevin's POV:
I didn't want to confront Cleo by myself, so I decided to bring Joe along with me.
I honestly would've brought Python too because of this skills of persuasion and heat/lie detecting, but he's honestly been more aggressive and agitated lately. I managed to get into an argument with him as well.
When I told Joe about the idea he stated that he'd help me out, but he didn't want to pursue the Jangler any further.
" How did the Jangler even get yer potions, Jevin?" Joe questioned as we flew to Cleo's base. I crossed my arms.
We both slowly landed down on the ground as I ran my hand through my hair, " He, or she, broke the lock to my house and ransacked the place." I looked back at him. Joe fixed his glasses and tilted his head with a frown.
I further told him that the Jangler cleaned up my home and gave me a cookie as an apology gift. This caused Joe's frown to change to a look of confusion.
" As much as I adore people actin' like gentlemen or ladies....." Joe started as we climbed the stairs, " Why would a troublemaker like the Jangler bother to clean up your home after wrecking through it like a bull in a china shop?" Joe questioned as I shrugged.
I knocked on the door and took a step back. Joe fixed his glasses as he thought, " Now that I think about it. He's more like a vigilante....." Joe mused to himself as he took out his notebook, scribbled something down, and put the book back into his bag.
" We are all fairly lucky that those potions did not get used for sinister actions...." Joe fixed his glasses then put his hands into his pockets. I frowned at him causing Joe to sigh in response, " There was trickery afoot wasn't there Jevin?" I nodded.
I knocked on the door to Cleo's home again. She told us that she was just finishing something up and would be right there in a minute. This meant there was more time to chat about the Grian Inc's encounter.
I told Joe the basics causing the writing hermit to shake his head. Joe sat down on the chair that was on the porch, " Oh dear, that is certainly a rough situation...." Joe straightened up slightly with an embarrassed look, " No.... No pun intended of course."
The door opened and Cleo leaned in the door frame, " 'Ello boys." she smiled as she adjusted her black shirt. I noticed that she didn't have one of her arms attached. After observing, I also noticed that she honestly looked like she had been in her pajamas all day and just decided to clean up.
" Good afternoon Miss Cleo." Joe had immediately stood up. I nodded at her, " Hey Cleo." I smiled. Cleo motioned for us to come inside.
The two of us sat down on the couch and Cleo sat down in a purple chair in front of us. She yawned as she picked up her arm and attached it. Cleo stitched her arm to the rest of her body and moved it when she was finished. She had a satisfied look on her face when she finished.
Cleo leaned forward in her seat to get a good look at us. Her face was searching ours as she leaned back.
" So, you want to know whether or not 'm the Jangler 'ey?" Cleo questioned with her eyebrow raised.
I straightened up and nodded as I could feel my fingers melting slightly. My breathing awkwardly steadied as my fingers returned to normal. I can't lose it like earlier with Ren and the others.
My leg was also melting into a puddle on the ground. I breathed again and forced it to reform itself into a leg.
God, why did I have to have a slime leg and slime arm in this world. Why couldn't it have been a slime hand? It would've been way easier to control. I'm honestly just lucky that I can keep the slime that usually goes over my face in my shoulder.
" Yes, we do. Well, I along with Grian, Mumbo, Ren, and Doc do." I told her as Cleo crossed her arms over her chest. I told her about the others having their species swapped and my potions being taken in the night.
Cleo frowned slightly, " Sounds like someone that's pretty handy with a lockpick, but they aren't too steady with anything else." she shook her head slightly.
" Who, besides me, do the detective have eyes on as the suspect?" Cleo questioned as I crossed my arms. I told her how Stress, Scar, and myself were the suspects. Cleo raised her eyebrow.
" You got your potions stolen, and I know that everyone tends to take them very often." Cleo thought as I sit up.
I tilt my head at her, " They do? When!?" I questioned as Cleo smirked slightly, " We all only take healing or sleeping potions. Calm down Jevin." she mused as I looked over at Joe. Joe simply nodded at the statement, " I, along with TFC and Stress, don't do it...." he stated as he fixed his glasses.
I can scold everyone later. The matter at hand is more important. We need to find the Jangler and clear Cleo's and my name.
Cleo leaned back and fixed her long hair, " Well, it's clear who couldn't done this based on the people." she frowned slightly. I smirked back at her.
" Scar?"
" Scar."
Joe, Cleo, and I stood up, " Well, thanks for clearing stuff up C." I smiled as Cleo nodded, " Anytime boys, " we turned to leave the house, " and Jevin?" I turned around to face her.
" If you want to work on potions Cub and I were working on some species swap potions later." Cleo crossed her arms and leaned against the wall.
I raised my eyebrow, " Why would you guys be working on potions like that?" Joe voices my thoughts for me. Cleo let out a sigh, " Cub is getting really annoyed at Python. He wants to turn Python into something else to make him learn a lesson." she explained.
Joe crossed his arms, " Yet Python is normally a human in the real world...." he frowned as Cleo nodded again. Joe and I looked at each other, " Do you guys need someone to swap him with?" I questioned as Cleo nodded.
This caused me to smile slightly, " That's why you need me...." I stated. Cleo answered with a swift yes. I told her that I would with a grin causing her to grin back.
Cleo looked over at Joe, " Do you want to help?" she questioned causing Joe to shake his head, " Nah, I've got stuff to do with mah home. I'll learn more 'bout it though." he smiled as Cleo nodded.
I waved the two goodbye and took off into the sky towards where Doc and Ren went. It was time to stop this.
