He watched the knocked out, vampire, angle carefully. He was so enthusiastic when Aro asked him to guard her until she woke up from her brother's gift.

It had been just over 2 hours when she finally opened her beautiful crimson red eyes. Then out of nowhere a strong piercing fire burned in with in him. "What are you doing? Who are you?" the new born angle yelled, pinning him by his shirt to the wall.

"I'm Zach and Aro sent me to watch you while your brother's power wore off." Zach calmly told her between screams of pain.

"Oh", she said, Zach couldn't help but notice the look she gave him as she set him down.

"Now you know my name, what is yours?" Zach asked while she smoothed out his shirt, distracted. He took his hand and ran it through her hair.

"Jane" she answered sweetly. Jane, my angles name was Jane, he thought. He stood there staring at his angle for hours, in a comfortable silence.

"Ehhm!" someone cleared their thoughts from behind them. They both turned around. Jane was sure she would have been blushing, if she could. She was just been catch staring into a totally hot stranger's eyes, who she only knew the name of. "how long has she been up?" the man asked.

"Oh...umm...3 hours?"What 3hours! It hasn't even been 3 minutes even, I swear, she thought. She looked back at Zach, who was rubbing the back of his neck.

"Ok, well you might want to tell Aro and have a good reason for the delay." the man said before he left.

As soon as the man was far enough away, Zach pulled Jane into his arms. When she got to his perfectly carved chest, she was met by the most amazing kiss ever. He broke the dreamy kiss after a good 5 minutes knowing that Aro would already be mad enough at me for not telling him right away, she let out a slight moan in protest.

"No, Jane, I have to go." Jane stuck out her lip.

"Zach, what took you so long?"Aro held out his hand, he should have expected this. He gave him has hand to him, knowing as soon as he did he would know all about Jane and him. He started to laugh, like a hatter," you really her like so much so you would do anything for her. That's amazing and something I've only seen between a few people." he looked back at Claudius. Claudius just looked at the ground, with no emotion to show.

He got back to Jane's room with only good news, Zach held Jane around the waist from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder. The two of them just talked about are human life, favorite musician, color, etc. All Zach knew before that moment was that he loved Jane, she was now part of the guard, and she was powerful.

When she told Zach her story, he pulled her in closer. How could anyone hurt someone so perfect? He had to protect her, she was his and he would give anything to keep her safe.
