You made this game worth playing... (Lams sorta)
Yall remember May from the Hunger Games?
Alex ran through the forest, a bag slinged over his shoulder and a blade in hand. His teammate abandoned him, figures. Alex shouldn't have even been here, it was Laf that was chosen. However the poor boy couldn't speak English well and was not used to this traditional hellhole of a game that they played annually.
Alex volunteered in Laf's place as Alex knew his younger brother would be killed easily.
He kept running until he spotted a strong enough tree to hold his weight and he climbed up, breathing heavily. A group trailed behind, looking for the supposedly weak kid.
They yelled out for him, taunting and insulting him until one kid spotted him and tried to hit him with both a bow and arrow and dagger.
"We'll just camp here, no way the little shit can stay here forever"
The group rumbled in agreement and set up, one person keeping watch over Alex until they all dozed off, including Alex.

Alex awoke in the tree and looked down, noticing the group was asleep. Alex looked around and noticed a tree branch with a snake overhead of the group. He grinned and climbed up, using the blade to cut the the branch off and watched as the people scattered in different directions. One poor girl wasn't fast enough and ended up getting bit, causing her to stumble and fall. The snake was no ordinary snake as it wrapped itself around the girls' next and tightened itself around it until there was a satisfying snap from it.
Alex stumbled down the tree and watched as the snake slithered away. Alex hastily ran to the girl and took notice of her weirdly angled head before raiding her of her weapons and running off.
Alex kept running until he heard a scream of a child.
Alex grumbled but ran in that direction nevertheless until he spotted a small kid no younger than 12 with puffed up, curly hair and an abundance of freckles scattered across his face.
An older male with corkscrew curls jutting out all over the place and chocolate brown skin grinned as he prepared to stab the small boy to death.
Alex frowned, remembering the male but hastily got into action as he reached for an arrow and set it to the bow, taking a deep breath and concentrating for shooting. It hit the male directly in the chest and he whipped his head up, the color draining from his face as he stumbled and fell to the ground, ripping the arrow out from his chest.
The little boy scrambled up and looked around, spotting Alex frozen in place as he stared at the dying male. The little boy ran over to Alex and hid behind him, unaware that the other male on the ground wouldn't be picking on him any time soon.

"I-I killed him.." Alex muttered as he trudged away with the little boy whose name was John.
"You did what was best.." John squeaked, clutching to Alex.
A distant cannon was heard and an image of the male that had been shot down appeared over the dome as text scrolled through the dome as well.
"Thomas Jefferson, District 9"
Alex eyes widened slightly, that had been his teammate who he had killed. Alex knew he looked familiar but in the heat of the moment, Alex reacted without thinking first. He sighed and set up camp for the night for both him and John.
~•~
A few days had gone by, John helping Alex get over his first kill and Alex helping John survive. Together the two had been able to destroy a mountain of supplies and kill someone else while doing so.
Alex was heading back to camp when he heard John's shrill scream.
Alex took off sprinting.
"Alex help please! Alex!" John cried as he had gotten stuck in a trap. Alex ran over and cut the boy free. John sobbed in relief and went to hug Alex.
There was a whoosh sound, an arrow grazed by, and John froze.
An arrow had found it's way right in between John's ribs and Alex reacted quickly, shooting an arrow at the other member who had shot John. However, before they went down they shot another arrow, lodging it in John's lung.
Alex cried out and caught John as he fell back, pulling the arrows out.
"A-Alex.." John choked out, black dots blotting his vision. Alex looked at John's face, both boys had tears rolling down their cheeks.
It was John who wiped away Alex's tears and smiled weakly. "Thank you...for making this g-game worth it.." John choked back a sob and managed to sit up, ignoring the pain as he hugged Alex.
Alex hugged back, shaking. "I'll miss you.." Alex sniffled and waited for the inevitable.
"I'll miss you too.." John managed to mumbled before his eyes shut and his body went limp. Alex sobbed more.
