The Halloween Feast

The Halloween Feast

It was hard for James to sleep the night that they had discovered what the Conch Shell had said. He didn't know who would be taken prisoner- though, Ali seemed very worried. Fred and James had both noticed that. Ali was keen on knowing how her parents are doing all of a sudden. She wrote letters, and it seemed to be like five, but she only had gotten one reply back.

"It's nothing. Probably busy..." though, James could see the worry in her eyes when she said that.

However, the best part of James' day was History of Magic- he could see his Uncle Fred! Why wouldn't he be excited?

The only drawback was that he couldn't see his uncle at meal times, considering that ghosts don't exactly eat human food- they eat ghost food.

Except for the Halloween Feast- that was the one day of the whole year that the Hogwarts ghosts could come in and do a show and stuff. The first years were very excited- they really wanted to see the ghosts perform!

James wondered what Uncle Fred would do- a prank. Most likely.

So, as soon as the thirtieth of October was done, James was so excited that he couldn't fall asleep. Neither could Fred- but the two boys were quite surprised that Ali could actually fall asleep.

They were all in the common room, and were sleeping in a little fort the trio had made out of the cushions in the common room. They had a bunch of blankets and pillows and comforters and sleeping bags within the fort- they had stayed up telling ghost stories (Ali was pretty good at them- James decided that the muggle world had some scary stories, some worse than The Tales of Beedle the Bard's story, the Warlock's Hairy Heart.)

Perhaps it was also the fact that made them confused that she could fall asleep after those creepy scary stories... James and Fred certainly couldn't.

But the two did manage to fall asleep, and once they had awoken, Ali was nowhere to be seen. So, it's safe to say that it was okay for Fred and James to jump once they saw a figure in a creepy clown mask.

The figure was laughing, and it took off the mask.

"Ali!" they groaned, and she was still laughing.

"Hey, I had to get you ding bats up somehow! Besides- it's Halloween!"

"You love this holiday, don't you?" asked James, a smile on his face.

"Of course I do! Who doesn't?"

"My Uncle Percy." James muttered. Ali rolled her eyes; Fred and James had told her enough about Uncle Percy to last her a life time. Honestly, she thought that leaky cauldron bottoms were a funny joke, but she'd never say that aloud- she had learned to not do that a long time ago...

After classes that day, James had made sure that he had gone to detention. Ali had not received one, which she claims is because she works hard for her studies and follows the rules. But James knows that she may work hard, but she has a rebellious side that will get her into trouble one day- he'd make sure of it.

Fred had gotten a detention with Uncle Fred (James found that very unfair, considering that they did the same exact thing but he was stuck with Slughorn) and James had gotten detention with Slughorn, the potions teacher.

James was quite surprised that Slughorn was still living- but Slughorn had requested him. Something about his mother, father and who his godmother, Aunt Madison were... how they were all in the Slug Club... something along those lines.

Once the torture of detention was over with Slughorn, he raced to the common room and announced that he was free of the torture of detention. Fred and Ali just rolled their eyes at the boy.

"Come on," he grumbled. "Let's just go to the Great Hall for the Feast..."

As the trio were walking down to the Great Hall for the Halloween Feast, Ali suddenly said, "I have to go pee."

"Then go to the bathroom." James said, a bit annoyed; he really wanted to get to the Feast- after all, his parents said that it was delicious.

"Alright, Mr. Grumpy Pants." She stated. She walked off.

James had a very worried feeling in the pit of his stomach- Ali had not returned- and she knew where the Great Hall was located at- she gets to the Hall before Fred and him a lot. So of course, the situation worried Fred and James.

They were about half way through the meal when Professor Bigby (who was the Muggle Studies teacher) ran straight into the hall, and announced:

"THERE'S A TROLL! A TROLL IN THE DUNGEON!!!!"

The whole hall screamed. They were ordered to follow their house prefects to the common rooms, and that they would continue the Feast there. Of course, being a Potter, and a half Potter, Fred and James decided to be desiobednet.

"Ali! She doesn't know!" Fred exclaimed, shock and worry in his voice at the same time.

"We have to get her- let her know that there's a troll!" James exclaimed, franticly.

So, abandoning the huge group of Gryffindor's, Fred and James ran to the girl's bathroom on the first floor, where they're friend was located at.

The two boys franticly thought of a way to get in- they didn't want to go into the girl's bathroom after all- perhaps it was because it was a girl's bathroom, or because they didn't want to get made fun of by Teddy at Christmas.

But what was more important- they're dignity, or they're friend?

"They're friend- that's the clearest answer," James had thought.

"Alahmora..." he murmured, and suddenly, the door had unlocked! It was just like magic. Oh, the irony in that last statement...

Once the two boys were in the girl's bathroom, they were greeted face-to-face with a huge mountain troll.

Ali was hunched over, under a sink, fright on her face. The troll went right onto her, grabbed a large piece of the sink right where she was, and swung. Ali was quite lucky that she had moved quickly- or else, she would have been crushed.

"Swish and flick!" Ali exclaimed.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" Fred and James exclaimed, strongly.

The girl's bathroom had literally exploded with water works- water was spraying out of every toilet and every sink. One sink in particular wasn't though- and James noticed Ali go towards it. She pushed the faucet tap, and no water came out.

As the troll lay on the ground nearby Fred and James, Ali muttered, "Broken. The sink- it's broken."

She then began to hiss, it seemed like, but for some odd reason, James could understand it- and so could Fred.

"Open..." Ali stated.

So the sink opened up to a Chamber. Ali paled, and said, "Closed..." in the same way that she had said open. James had a feeling that he knew why he could understand it- but he'd have to ask his father to make sure.

Professor McGonagall, Professor Weasley, and Professor Flitwick had burst through the door. McGonagall stated under her breath, "Oh, not again..."

What did that mean?

"Follow me to my office, Potter, Weasley, Alice."

And so the trio followed the headmistress.

It had seemed that McGonagall had called in the trio's parents- Ginny and Harry, Madison and George and Ali's parents were sitting there in her office.

"I remember being in this office way too many times." Harry and Madison said in sync.

"Mom... Dad..." Ali nervously said, as she greeted her parents.

James was standing in one side of McGonagall's office, his parents in front of him.

"So, who is that girl?"

"Oh! That's Ali. Alice Jackson. She's American and muggleborn. She's friends with Fred and I."

"Anyway, since you technically saved the school and your friend from a troll, no punishment!" his dad said. His mother nodded her head.

James was quite surprised that his mum didn't give any punishment for once...

Fred's parents, Madison and George, were on the other side of McGonagall's office.

"Mum, why are you a bit... Fatter than last time I saw you?"

George glared at his son, and said, "Don't call your mother fat, one, and two- love, wanna tell him?"

"Sure." She said and pecked her husband's cheek.

"Well, uh, Freddie, you're going to be an older brother... again."

"You're pregnant?" Fred asked, wide eyed.

"Yep, four months I will be tomorrow."

"Anyway, Freddie, no punishment. Hopefully, you'll get in here as much as we did..." George said, with a happy look on his face. Fred's mother smiled, and kissed George's cheek, and kissed her son good bye.

Ali and her parents were on the other side of the office.

"Alice. You've gotten expelled twice already in your lifetime." Her mother scolded.

"Mom- that was due to accidental magic! God!"

"Don't back talk to your mother, young lady!" her mother exclaimed. Ali wondered why she was referring to herself in the third person.

"Okay, okay, okay mom- why are you so mad at me? Fred and James' parents aren't mad at their kids!"

"We expect more from you! That's why!"

"Ughhh!" Ali exclaimed.

As Ali exited the room, she thought to herself:

"Why do I feel like my dad is in danger?"
