Weirdest Fighting Game Characters

Jaden: Now, many people know this but fighting games is one of the most popular genres of gaming nowadays. You've got games like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Super Smash Bros. and many more. However, the developers might get some ideas popping in the head.

Lucas: What is that supposed to mean?

Jaden: I mean, the developers like to add an oddball or weird character to the game which makes you wonder, why did they put him/her in there.

Lucas: Let's get onto the list. (Disclaimer, only one character per franchise)

Number 10

Jaden: Now, not many people might know this game but if you do, you probably spend a lot of time on the internet. This game is called Kasumi Ninja which is basically a rip off of Mortal Kombat. There are a lot of weird characters but none of them are weird like the Scottish man, Angus McGregor.

Lucas: How is he weird, exactly?

Jaden: One of his moves is him literally lifting up his kilt and shooting fireballs out of his lower region.

Lucas: Wait, what?

Jaden: Here, let me show you.

Lucas: HOLY *censored*.

Jaden: I'm going to need that censored.

Number 9

Jaden: A game that was released a while back gave so many Pokemon and fighting game fans so much hype was Pokken Tournament DX. Personally, I like this game and it was a new step into the Pokemon series. However, out of all the over 800 Pokemon they could've chose from. WHO'S IDEA WAS IT TO PUT FREAKING CHANDELURE IN IT???

Lucas: I'm assuming they wanted diversity.

Jaden: If they did, why did they choose a possessed chandelier of all things.

Lucas: I don't know.

Jaden: I feel like this might've happened.

At Game Freak

Developer 1: Any ideas for fighters for Pokken Tournament DX?

Developer 2: Well, since we have Blaziken and Sceptile in it, why don't we add Swampert to make the starter trio in this?

Developer 1: That is a terrible idea, any other ideas?

Developer 3: Let's put Chandelure for more diversity.

Developer 1: I like that.

Developer 2: WHAT THE F-

Back in the lab

Lucas: Why Swampert?

Jaden: They had the other starters, so it makes sense.

Lucas: True.

Number 8

Jaden: This character has been in multiple games but the one I will talk about is Tatsunoko vs Capcom. Mainly because the other games he's in has a more weirder character.

Lucas: Who may that be?

Jaden: The Dead Rising character, Frank West.

Lucas: Who?

Jaden: This guy.

Lucas: What's weird about him? He looks like a normal guy.

Jaden: That's the point, he's just a normal guy and he's pitted against superheroes with powers, super soldiers, master martial artists with supernatural powers, robots, ninjas, swordsmen and a giant golden man.

Lucas: You're right, he is out of place.

Number 7

Jaden: Street Fighter x Tekken became such a huge hit, the companies that made the game decided to put a character of their creation. However, Capcom decided to put a weird character. Mega Man.

Lucas: Hold on, how is Mega Man weird? He doesn't look weird in the Marvel vs Capcom series? I mean look.

Jaden: No, not that Mega Man, this Mega Man.

Lucas: OH MY GOD!!! *throws up*

Jaden: Yeah, they decided to give this game the bad box art version and he looks like he's got diabetes. And despite all this, he's as nimble and fit as can be.

Lucas: GET THAT OUT OF HERE!!!

Number 6

Jaden: Now, I like the Marvel vs Capcom series and they have a lot of lovable characters. Frank West is in this game but there's another few characters that a weirder. This version of Marvel vs Capcom will be Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 while one that will come after is Marvel vs Capcom 2. That may sound like bending the rules but they are very different in general so bare with me. For this number, the weird character is one of my favourites, Phoenix Wright.

Lucas: What could make this guy weird other than him being out of place?

Jaden: It's his fighting style. Somehow, he can damage people by sneezing, throwing paper, letting a dog run past him and tripping you, his assistant Maya running in, pointing at you and pacing back and forth.

Lucas: What?

Jaden: Also, he has this mechanic where he can search around the battlefield to pick up pieces of evidence and once he gets three, he can do his ultimate hyper combo.

Lucas: Which is?

Jaden: Doing a courtroom session in which the sentence is death.

Lucas: Ok.

Number 5

Jaden: Marvel vs Capcom 2 did have some characters that some might not be familiar with but one that stands out the most is Amingo, a sombrero wearing cactus.

Lucas: Really?

Jaden: Yes, just look at him.

Lucas: What the?

Jaden: And another thing is that he was originally going to have his own game but it was scrapped and he was put into MvC2 instead. I wonder why they did that?

Number 4

Jaden: Street Fighter was the game that made fighting games popular from the beginning but Street Fighter 3rd Strike has introduced a number of weird characters. But none of them are as weird as Q.

Lucas: Who?

Jaden: Q.

Lucas: A guy wearing a mask, fedora and trench coat. So what?

Jaden: Let me explain, firstly, many policemen have been after this guy and no one knows who he truly is and where he came from. Plus, some say he's a robot because of the metallic face but there has been skin shown in the neck area multiple times so most likely he's human. And lastly, he must be a creep.

Lucas: How so?

Jaden: Whenever he enters a stage, there are little kids running away from him and he always walks with his hands being held out like a zombie. And most importantly, his strongest move being "Total Destruction" is him literally grabbing the opponent and pushing their head in his crotch with leads to an explosion. For some reason.

Lucas: Now I'm going to have nightmares.

Number 3

Jaden: Remember when I said that developers get creative when making a weird fighting game character. Well, in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, I'm pretty sure they ran out of ideas and decided to put this guy into it. Meet Mokap.

Lucas: Isn't that just a guy in a Motion Capture suit?

Jaden: Yes, and supposedly they made this as a tribute to the motion capture guy for Raiden, Carlos Pesina.

Lucas: Weird.

Number 2

Jaden: This guy gives me the creeps, anyone who has played Soul Caliber knows who I'm talking about.

Lucas: And who is that?

Jaden: Voldo.

Lucas: Oh my god, didn't you tell me he walks like that crab walk thing some people do in sports.

Jaden: Yes, that kind of walk is uncomfortable but this guy does it every day.

Lucas: Now I need to take a shower.

Number 1

Jaden: Many people wonder what could possibly be a weirder fighting game character than any of these that I have already listed. To answer that question, let's go to Sega's Fighters Megamix.

Lucas: Hm, they've got a lot of bipedal animals and humans. Are you talking about Pepsiman?

Jaden: No Lucas, I'm talking about Hornet.

Lucas: He doesn't sound weird at all. What makes him weird?

Jaden: He's a freaking car.

Lucas: What the, how does that work?

Jaden: I know, it somehow stands up on its own and punches with its floating wheels.

Lucas: I think we should finish it up now, I don't want any more confusion.

Jaden: Whelp, that's it, please leave suggestions if you want a certain type of list that you want to hear. Cheerio everyone.
