I sighed and placed my phone back, I heard a ding and picked it up in hopes that someone might've changed their mind, but it was a message from Jaden.

Jdub - hey Y/n are you coming over for dinner, right?

Me - yup

Me - unless you changed your mind and don't want to be there 😑

Jdub - no no no come here I want you

Me - okay then I'm coming 🫡

Me - Jay do you want me to bring anything?

Jdub - nope just bring yourself here

Jdub - I'm so glad you're coming 😁

Me - me too <3

I know Jaden told me not to bring anything but I couldn't go there empty-handed so I went into the kitchen and made something out of my grandma's famous recipe book.

-Jaden's POV-

"Hey Mom, do you need any help?" I asked "No it's okay Jaden" "Okay I'll go check if everything is laid out on the table correctly"

"Jaden why are you so panicky to make everything look good?" Daelo asked "Because everything has to be perfect," I told him.

"He's just nervous because Y/n is coming over for dinner" Jayla said wiggling her eyebrows. I was going to tell them to shut up, but I heard the doorbell ring so I quickly went to see if it was Y/n and thankfully it was.

She looks so beautiful wearing a casual dress that stopped right below her knees and her hair was up in a ponytail.

"Hey Jdub" her voice brought me back to reality "Look I know you told me not to bring anything, but I felt like that was rude so I made a plate of chicken tacos which I really hope you like and then I had some free time so I decided to do some red velvet cupcakes since I remembered it's your favorite," she said, and I felt my cheeks heat up.

She made me my favorites

Well for all of us, but she knows what's my favorite cupcake!

"So.. are you gonna say anything?" "Oh right sorry come in come in" I took the food from her and went to the kitchen to my mom where to place it while the rest of the family welcomed her in.

After placing her tacos on the table and the cupcakes in the fridge I went into the living room and I saw Daelo whispering something in Y/n's ear making her laugh.

"What so funny?" I asked curiously, and before she could answer Daelo place a hand on her mouth "No don't tell him"

"Don't tell me what?" "Sorry I can't tell you," Y/n said "Hey that's not fair" "Don't worry Jdub it's not something bad," she said.

"Alright everyone the food is ready," my dad said we all sat at the table, and Y/n was sat in between me, and Javon.

"Jess this all looks and smells amazing" "Oh thanks sweetie I worked hard on it" "Hey give me some credit I helped too," my dad said "My dad and I did at the mashed potatoes," Daelo said like he cooked the whole turkey making us laugh.

We eat dinner and talked about so much stuff while Y/n ate and listened, she looks like she was enjoying it, which I was really happy to see.

Y/n ate her food and I heard her moan "Oh my god this taste amazing" she said taking another bite.

"Y/n why aren't you spending Thanksgiving with your family?" Daelo asked and Jayla kicked him under the table "Owww Mom! Jayla just kicked me"

"Hey guys it's okay to ask about my family," Y/n said "We just don't want you to get uncomfortable," Javon said "Nah it's okay you guys are cool"

"So to answer Daelo's question, it's because both my parents are very busy people my dad is a doctor my mom's a lawyer. Both are working late today. I have three siblings. My oldest Leo is studying med school in Amelia and couldn't make it due to the exams there and my sister, Amelia is studying engineering in Australia and is spending Thanksgiving with her new boyfriend. Max is a senior and is studying in his room most of the time, tonight he's having dinner with his football team at his coach's house"

"Wow you have a very successful family," Jayla said and she smiled "yea I guess so" "No it sounds like her life is boring. You have no one to play with"

This time I kicked Daelo's feet "Mommm" he whined and Y/n chuckled "Stop hitting him, it's OKAY"

"And yea it is boring but it's okay I kinda got used to it" "That's sad" "Daelo can you please stop talking"

"What? I'm just saying the truth. Y/n you can come over to our house and I'll play with you as much as you want" he said "yea sweetie you can come over whenever you want. Our door is always open for you" my mom said.

"Especially if you were going to bring these tacos again they are delicious," Javon said and we all agreed. "I'm really glad you liked it" she smiled

After we were finished with dinner, we had to wait for a while, so our food would digest and we could have dessert.

Y/n's cupcakes were the best red velvet cupcakes I have ever tried.

"Alright come over every day your cooking skills are amazing," my dad said taking another cupcake.

We watched a movie and Y/n was sat next to me, a little into the movie I finally gathered up the courage and wrapped my arm around her.

Y/n rested her head on my chest and I felt my heart race which was not the time.

"Hey, you okay?" She asked and I nodded "Jaden I could hear your heartbeat," she said and I could feel my cheeks turning pink. Thank God the lights were off.

"Yea, I just..umm...I" "Are you okay? Should I go sit somewhere else-" "No," I said immediately.

"Okay..." "I'm just..nervous that's all" "Nervous why?" "Because I-umm I like you that's why" Y/n's frown turned upside down.

She smiled and kissed my cheeks "So Daelo was telling the truth" she said, "about what?" "About you liking me" "Wait he told you I liked you," I asked surprised and embarrassed.

"Yea, he told me how you were running around all day trying to make everything perfect for me" Now I'm thankful that the lights are low so she couldn't see my red face.

"Hey don't get embarrassed it's cute, really cute," she said "Really?" She nodded and I smiled "So..you like me too?"

She leaned in and pecked my lips "Does that answer your question?" "No I think you should do it again" I whispered and she smiled kissing me again.

I cupped her cheeks and deepened the kiss, I felt her cheeks heat up as well and we both smiled pulling away.

"Are you two going to make out here? Or should we all just go to our room to give you some privacy?" "Daelo shut up!" We all yelled laughing.
