Stand up

Kayla's POV

"WHAT???" Joe yells in disbelief, "Stephanie and I have never had anything going on, ever." He says to Paul.

"Yeah right. She was always going on and on about you. How talented you were, how good-looking were, how you'll make the company so much money, how she wants to put you as the face of the company. Joe this and Joe that. She would go on and on about you and I was sick of it." Paul explains

"So you're jealous?" I say somewhat amused. I just look at Paul. He went through all of this, just to try to break us up because he was jealous of Joe the whole time. I can't believe him. How petty of him.

"I'm not jealous, I just don't want him here. I divorced Stephanie for my own personal reasons and Kayla, you know all about that but that was an issue as well and when he started lurking around you, that was when I had had it. You stole my girlfriend from me and I wasn't going to allow that. So yeah, I did what I had to do." He says

"Unbelievable." I say, "Forget all that you did right? Forget that you slapped me around a few times and threw me out on the street with nothing." Joe places his hand on mine, rubbing it, while calming me down. I could tell he was angry but trying not to show it. His leg was shaking and he was breathing somewhat heavy.

"I didn't say that." Paul says

"You know what, I don't care. I'm happy in the relationship I'm in—."

"Marriage." Joe correct me, looking at Paul with a straight face.

Paul's eyes dart from mine, to Joe. "Marriage?" Paul repeats. He laughs for a few seconds, then he stops when he sees Joe's face hasn't moved. He's dead ass serious. They hold eye contact for a few seconds, "So on to business, you quit?" He says, changing the subject, looking back at me.

"Yes."

"You turned down all the money I offered you and the promotion? Do you think that was a smart decision?" He asks

"Watch your fucking mouth." Joe says, calmly warning him. Actually too calm. I'm starting to get nervous. Joe has never been this calm while dealing with Paul. He's always tried but failed. Today, he's nailing it and it's scary.

"Paul, we've gone over this before. You only want me stationed in Orlando because you don't want Joe and I traveling together. Why would I take that offer? It doesn't make sense." I say, "Well, it doesn't matter now, right?" I say with a smile.

"That's right! So why are you here, if you don't work for this company anymore? How did they even let you into the building?"

I shrug my shoulders. "Ask your crew."

"I will. They shouldn't have even let you in the building, not with the proper credentials."

Joe clears his throat, interrupting us, "Well, she's here as my wife, she walked in with me."

Paul visibility gets upset. He turns red and his veins pop out in his forehead and neck, "So you're just going to keep saying that? You're trying to upset me?"

"Nope. It's the truth." Joe says sitting back in his chair, smiling, trying to get a rise out of Paul.

"Well it's a closed set, she has to leave." Paul says, gritting his teeth.

"She's not going anywhere." Joe says

"Sign. the fucking. contract." He says to Joe, calmly. Staring at Joe intensely.

"I ain't signing shit." Joe says with a smile, not breaking eye contact with Paul.

I feel like Paul is going to jump over this table any second now. Joe is jumping up and down his buttons.

Tommy interrupts, "Well, um, I see this is turning into a heated business meeting and I'm no longer needed here, so I'm just going to step outside." Tommy says opening the door. "Joe let me know if you need me. I'm going to be right outside the door." He leaves. Tommy already knows what's about to go down. He witnessed the altercation at the restaurant that night.

I kind of laugh to myself quietly but mask it. Tommy is right, it is getting kind of heated. I look over at Christina and that bitch is still sitting there. Why is she still here? She need to leave too.

"You're not going to get what you want, just because you want it." Joe smiles

Paul slams both of his fists on the table, "SIGN THE FUCKING CONTRACT!" He yells

"Or what?" Joe laughs, and I'm kind of wondering why he's purposely trying to piss him off. Is he trying to get into another fight with him?

Paul's tried to calm himself down a little, "Look Joe, you're here, which means you came to work. So work." He says shrugging his shoulders, "When we go live tonight for the draft, regardless if you signed the contract or not, you're being moved to SmackDown. They're going to announce it anyway. There's other ways for me to get you to sign the contract, know that. I don't need your actually signature." Paul says

"Why why are you going through y'all of this, if you don't need me?" He pauses for a few seconds, "You do need me to sign off on it and I'm not, so good luck with that."

"You really think you're going to get away with not signing." Paul says, realizing Joe really isn't going to sign. Which only pisses Paul off more. "You sit over there beside someone you stole from me, thinking you're big a bad but you're not. You tend to forget I own you. I have been doing everything in my power to get you out of this company and I'm going to continue to do it until you're gone. You're my bitch. You work for me, don't forget that."

"Well don't work too hard on trying to get me out. You must've of forgot my contract is up in a few months and everything that you're doing is only making me want to leave the company anyway. I'm sure Vince wouldn't like his top guy leaving on such a negative note. As soon as I tell him everything that you've been doing and how I don't want to work under these conditions, he's going to come back at your ass. And I've been talking to my good buddy, Jon. He's putting a good word for me, even though I don't need it. I am Roman Reigns."

"You're not going to leave this company just to make her happy, just to be with her." He says

"She's my wife, why wouldn't I? You've made this a hostile work environment, for her and for myself. You've made her resign from her position, working directly under you...boss. So all of the comes down on you and I think you need to get your shit together because if I leave this company, it's going to be a domino effect and that's going to be on you, boss man. I don't think you thought this all the way through. Vince is going to be on your ass. And seeing how you want to take over the company, I don't think you want those problems with Vince." Joe says putting Paul in his place and everything he said is true. It will be a domino effect and on top of all of that, there's three other top superstars whose contracts haven't even been renewed yet. I think he should cool it.

"Yeah, whatever. I still own your bitch and bitchass." Paul says waving Joe off.

"Stand up." Joe says

Paul looks at Joe confused.

"Stand up, so I can beat your ass." Joe says standing up, moving his chair out of the way.

"Get out of here Christina." He says, looking back at her.

She gets up and walks out of the room.

Joe helps me up, and walks me over to the door, "Stand out here. I'll only be a minute."

"Joe..."

"I don't want to hear it." He says firmly and I nod my head, okay and he walks back into the room, closing the door behind him.

They were arguing for a minute, then I heard a loud noise, it shook the walls. Sounded like something crashed into the wall or something. Then I heard them fighting and yelling. Tommy looked at me, opened the door and went into the room. I peeked in and I saw the table flipped over on its side. That must've been the loud noise I heard.

They were definitely fighting. Paul's face was bloody at the nose and mouth and Joe had a cut above his eye and a bloody nose. Both of their clothes were messed up and Joe's shirt was ripped at the neck. Paul was on the ground and Joe had him by the collar of his shirt, about to punch him, until Tommy ran over and pulled Joe away from Paul.

"FUCK YOU, I QUIT." Joe yells at Paul.

Quit? Wait a minute. He can't quit.

"Joe?"

"Nah, Kayla. Fuck this bitch. I'm done." He says

"But you—."

He cuts me off, "I said, I'm done. Let's go."

He says walking out of the room, I follow close behind.

"Baby, you can't just quit." I say

"I know I can't. And I'm pretty sure I'm going to get fined but I'm not showing up tonight. Until Vince gets him straightened out, I'm not coming back to work and I'm gonna let Vince know that." He says still angry.

"I really don't think you should just leave. I think you should maintain professionalism, do your job tonight and just avoid him at all costs."

He stops walking and turns to me, "I'm leaving."

"Okay." I say putting my hands up in defeat. I'm not going to argue with him, if he has his mind made up about this I'm not going to fight him.

We get out to the parking lot and we hear Tommy calling Joe. Oh here we go.

We turn around, "What's up, Tommy?" Joe says taking a deep breath, not really wanting to hear what he has to say. I could hear it in his voice.

"I just wanted to formally apologize. What I did was wrong and I lied to you and to you Kayla. I know you're not like that. At first, I did think that of you but you're not. I know that now and I'm sorry. I'm sorry for talking to you the way I did and I'm sorry for disrespecting you. I was just trying to get you guys to break up and it was disgusting of me to take money from him." He says and I just nod my head. I'm not so accepting right now. He lied on me and tried to make me out to be like that stupid ass bitch in there with Paul.

He turns back to Joe, "Man, I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have taken money from him, I know but you know what my situation was/is."

"But you know all you had to do is come to me. I would give you anything. You know that." Joe says, hurt.

"30,000? I don't think so Joe." Tommy says

"We would've figured it out. Look, I forgive you but I'm going to need some space for a while. We can be cool but she's pregnant and we don't need any stress right now. We're focused on keeping her healthy and comfortable. So let's just chill out for a while but we're good."

"Alright, I understand." Tommy says

"You're my brother, no matter what and brothers fight." Joe says

"Okay, if you change your mind and want to get a drink, I'll be in town until tomorrow." He says

"Okay." Is all Joe says, then they hug and we go our separate ways.

What did you think about this chapter??
What do you think about Joe, is he making the right decision?
