Jade squeezed her eyes shut as she felt herself being picked up from the car seat she laid on.

The cold immediately hit her ten fold as she felt miniature snow drops melt against her skin, even though she didn't open her eyes she assumed her body still wore the thin white blood-stained dress.

Such a tragedy to befall something so beautiful...

"Sorry about the cold, we're almost at the front door." Sebastian whispered towards her, causing a rush of heat to hit her face from his warm breath.

It was only now that she felt the strong, secure arms that surrounded her petite figure.

Jade snuggled deeper against his toned chest, contently listening to his heart beat. She felt him manoeuvre her body so that he could bang on the door with his foot.

"Do you have any idea how late-" the male voice died out in the middle of their sentence "...is that?" Something about the tone was familiar but she couldn't remember from where she had heard it before.

Sebastian nodded his head — almost immediately Jade was carried into what seemed to be a house. Her lips breathed a sigh of relief when the coziness welcomed her tired body.

She felt him walking upstairs behind someone else "What happened to her!" a female voice screeched.

Familiar.

Very familiar.

'Who the hell is she?' Jade thought. Her eyes were heavy with tiredness and she couldn't muster up the strength to open them "She's not hurt. It's not her blood." Bash answered

"Thank you so much Sebastian for bringing her" The female voice whispered again, her tone getting louder and louder.

Her ears picked up the sound of another pair of footsteps "I owe you one" Jade could decipher a slight accent in the mystery man.

"No need to thank me, Klaus." Bash answered.

She felt a hand brush a piece of hair behind her ear "She's surely grown up, it was hard when we found out what happened to Tanner. I'm just happy she's here" a light voice whispered delicately.

"We all took it hard when we found out about him, Carol" Bash replied squeezing Jade a little more tighter in his arms.

Then the realisation washed over Jade in a single moment — making her eyes snap open with shock and horror. Surely enough her uncle and aunty stood before her with worry etched on their faces.

But all Jade saw in front of her was the people that made her hate the Divisions with a passion.

She only saw the people that made sure Jade and her brother never returned to there in the years they were gone — the people that were supposed to help her grieve the death of her brother but didn't.

So it made complete sense when Jade fumbled out of Bash's grip only to stumble out of the room as fast as her disoriented mind would allow her.

Her tired legs scampered down the hall with three people hot on her tail, Jade turned to her right continuing to hurry down the stairs but tripped on the third step.

It had been a long time since she has been in this house but she still remembered it so vividly. Her body made a loud thump when she connected with the hard wooden floor "Jade!" Caroline shouted.

"STOP!" Jade screeched making everyone stop where they were — Tears were rolling down her cheek "Don't come near me! Stay away from me!"

Bash slowly held his hands up in surrender "Jade they're trying-"

"Why?" she screamed again, standing up properly while leaning her back against the front door "I trusted you Bash! Why would you bring me back!"

Klaus took a step closer "We're sorry Jade. I'm sorry. Everything I and Caroline said all those years ago-"

"Tell Tanner that!" Jade hissed in anger making the both of them flinch "Where were you? Where were you when I needed you! If you didn't tell me and Tann to leave and never come back then he would be standing here, he would still be alive if it weren't for you!" she didn't believe what she was saying but the anger she felt over the years seemed to be slipping before her very eyes.

Tears rolled down Caroline's cheek "You're right. You're absolutely right. I'm so sor-" but before any one of them could count Jade opened the front door swiftly and ran outside.

She saw a forest just behind the cottage and made her way straight for it — ignoring the calls from behind her, ignoring the darkness that covered the night and its consuming method of swallowing her vision, she hastily pushed herself forward.

Deeper and deeper she ran into the forest until she couldn't hear the thundering steps behind her, until she couldn't hear the calls of her name, until she couldn't hear three ragged breaths that tried to keep up.

Jade didn't know where the energy was coming from but soon she found herself running without any sense of stopping.

She didn't know where she was and didn't know where she was going or even how fast her legs had been taking her, everything seemed to be one big blur. Her legs were burning and before she knew it they buckled beneath her causing her to fall against the snow covered floor.

Tears rolled down her cheek.

'Why would he bring me back to them?' Klaus and Caroline drove Tanner and her away from their one real home for so many years. Then the one time they decide to act as if they care is when Tanner...dies...when it's too late.

He should be here.

She shouldn't be here alone. Her grief swallowed her once more.

She sat up slowly and observed her surrounding's. Jade sat in an open field covered in white, her dress was stained with dirt, blood, and since her little run had caused her to stumble, the ends of her dress were tattered. The cold snow melted against her skin making her shiver and pull her knees closer to her chest.

She laid her head back down on the cold forest floor while shutting her eyes once again.

Snow fell all over her, coating her in white, intwining itself in her long brown hair.

Slate sat in his car, speeding down a long deserted road.

It had only been 15 minutes since Blake came back from checking on Cora. He had told Slate that Sebastian would most likely travel to a place called Genaville.

He pressed the gas pedal harder, hoping it would get him there faster as the snow pelted the car windows.

The only reason Blake wasn't there to tell him to slow down was because it turned out Cora was his mate. Slate was envious that Blake could have his mate by his side while he was driving down what seemed to be an abandoned road to nowhere.

STOP THE CAR!Soren barked causing Slate to slam the brakes. His nose slammed on the steering wheel revealing a nasty red mark "what the hell!"

Slate groaned slightly while rubbing his nose — get out of the car.His wolf commanded frantically "I am not getting out of the car! It's snowing down a blizzard-"

Just get out of the bloody car! Trust me on this.Soren stated again. Slate sighed roughly before kicking his door open "I'm here, now what?" he exclaimed while brushing away the snow drops that found it's way into his hair.

He soon gave up on trying to get rid of the snow — Just shut up! And listenSlate's brow creased at his wolf's cryptic language. Rolling his eyes he finally focused on his senses, the slow sound of snow hitting the floor was all he could hear but something didn't feel right.

He felt as if there was something he was missing so Slate focused even harder to hear something, anything. As time went by he heard soft but distinct whimpering, but it was like he knew who it was — it was so sad....

Power surged through his veins.

Slate easily let Soren take over and shift into his wolf form. He pushed his limbs as fast as he could, even if they were searing with pain and twigs were scratching his body he didn't mind it at all because one single thing echoed in his chaotic mind.

"...Jade..."
